Dogs decked out in gold fits paraded through the hallways of a Texas children’s hospital, spreading smiles and cuddles to pediatric cancer patients. September is Childhood Cancer Awareness Month. On average, more than 290 children and adolescents in the U.S. are diagnosed with cancer every week, according to St. Jude Children's Research Hospital. Worldwide, about 400,000 children and adolescents develop cancer each year. The pups had “a chance to do what they do best: provide comfort and brighten each patient’s day,” Texas Children’s Hospital said.
