A few weeks ago, I wrapped up my second summer at
Cisco as an Amplify Marketing Intern, and I could not be more grateful for the opportunity to return to such a wonderful company.
This summer, I was lucky enough to intern on the
Splunk Executive Customer Experience (ECX) team within the broader customer lifecycle marketing organization. This experience provided me with countless opportunities to think outside the box, broaden my network, and make an impact through my work.
One of the key projects I took on was supporting my team with the planning and execution of .conf+, an executive experience at the Splunk .conf 2026 user conference. I created and maintained the executive lookbook, a deck providing a high-level overview of 150+ .conf+ attendees to support targeted customer engagement. Alongside my work within the ECX team, I collaborated with three of my fellow interns to develop and pitch AI-augmented workflow solutions to 300+ marketing stakeholders. Getting to dive into impactful work and learn through experience was a valuable opportunity that I am incredibly grateful for.
One sentiment that is consistently echoed at Cisco is appreciation for its tight-knit, supportive culture. After two summers here, I can attest that the people truly do make the place. I cannot thank my wonderful manager
Helen Pitts, CCP enough for the wisdom and guidance she shared with me throughout the summer, it was her support that allowed me to step out of my comfort zone and challenge myself in my endeavors. I would also love to thank my amazing mentors
JoAnn McKay, Jenifer Barton,
Isha Gupta, and
Ella Layn for their insights and unwavering support.
I will never run out of praise for the Amplify program and the amazing managers behind it:
Sandra Dubose,
Erin Tresmontan, and
Shonya Brathwaite, who take it upon themselves to make the internship experience the best it can be. As I begin my semester abroad in London and enter my junior year at UCLA, I can’t wait to take all that I have learned with me. So excited for what’s next!
