Beth Kluge liked thisBeth Kluge liked thisWell, I can’t say I’m surprised. The pathology results are back, and the cancer has metastasized from my lung adenocarcinoma to my sacrum. I’m waiting to hear from my oncologist about when I’ll start radiation. There’s really no other way to say it, this sucks.

Beth Kluge liked thisBeth Kluge liked thisIt is line review season and the whole company feels it. For anyone outside the world of cpg, line reviews are the meetings where brands pitch next year’s products / innovation to retailers. It is how you earn, keep or lose shelf space. It is how your innovation is birthed onto store shelves. Stakes are high. Walk in underprepared and you walk out with less. At Serenity Kids, the whole team leans in during this season. Every department touches it in some way, from sales to R&D to marketing, because what we bring into those rooms represents everything we’ve built since our last conversation. It is not just a presentation. It is a proof point. One of the things I have gotten MUCH better at is deck-building. My former boss at John Deere, Krystal D. Williams, taught me a valuable lesson. Make the punchline the headline. Your main takeaway belongs right up in the slide title. The buyer should never have to dig for key points. They’ve likely been in back-to-back meetings all day, and if you bury your best idea on slide 9, they’re already lost. I’ve also learned that being a smaller brand during line reviews is not a disadvantage but actually a strength. The decision makers are in the room. We do not have to run anything up the flagpole or wait 3 weeks for a committee to weigh in. When a retailer pushes back or opens a door, we can respond fast. That kind of agility is something larger corporations just don’t have. We also bring something that legacy brands struggle to match: real innovation. Growth in baby food is not coming from established companies that have dominated the aisle for decades. It’s coming from insurgent brands who launch products that did not exist before, filling gaps buyers didn’t even know they had. Line review season is not something we dread. It is honestly one of the most energizing times because it forces us to make decisions, know our numbers, and articulate clearly why each sku belongs on shelf. Every meeting makes us better. Founders, what is the biggest lesson you have learned from a high stakes pitch?

Beth Kluge liked thisThrilled to officially share this news. The acquisition of Fresh Bellies is an exciting milestone for Cerebelly and an important step in building a platform that serves families from first foods through everyday snacking and wellness. It creates new opportunities for growth, innovation, and long-term value while staying true to our mission of helping families feed their children with real, nutritious food. Most importantly, I want to recognize Saskia Sorrosa, whose passion, perseverance, and leadership helped make this acquisition possible. I'm also incredibly grateful to the teams at both Cerebelly and Fresh Bellies, as well as our advisors, partners, and supporters, who put in countless hours to bring this together. Transactions like this are never the result of one person. They are built through trust, collaboration, and a shared belief in what is possible. The real work starts now, and I couldn't be more excited for what we will build together.Beth Kluge liked thisWelcome, Fresh Bellies, to the Cerebelly family! This exciting acquisition is a natural way to expand our impact and unlock greater potential for children through nutrition. Beth Kluge liked thisBeth Kluge liked thisLast week I had the privilege of joining an incredible group of mission driven CEOs at Ripple Fest in Marshall, California, hosted by One Step Closer (OSC), and I haven’t stopped thinking about it! One Step Closer's annual gathering is one of my favorite experiences of the year and this one was no exception. This year we invested more time in working sessions doing the hard, honest work of figuring out how to build companies that actually stand for something. I had the chance to participate in a CEO Lightning Chat alongside Adam Hiner and Chris Mann. The prompt was simple: tell us about the moment you chose the unfamiliar path. Mine was the moment I decided to stop being co-CEOs with my husband Joe and take over marketing and sales entirely, two departments I knew almost nothing about. It was uncomfortable. It was humbling. And it turned out to be one of the best decisions I ever made. Because once I understood marketing and sales the way I understood product and operations, I finally had a complete picture of the whole business. Every cross functional decision became so much faster! The community that One Step Closer has built is something really special. What is the most uncomfortable path you have chosen as a leader and what did it teach you?

Beth Kluge liked thisBeth Kluge liked thisI’m incredibly excited to celebrate the launch of bettergoods in Baby Food at Walmart! This launch is especially meaningful because bettergoods is the first private label baby food brand in the category to earn Clean Label Project Certification—a milestone that reflects our commitment to quality, transparency, and trust for families. What I love most about this assortment is that we're bringing organic, clean-label, nutritious products to babies and kids across America at a price point that makes healthier choices more accessible. Every parent deserves access to products they can feel good about feeding their children, without having to compromise on quality or affordability. Proud of the team that helped bring this vision to life and grateful to be part of a brand that is making nutritious food more accessible for the next generation. Beth Kluge liked thisBeth Kluge liked thisVon Miller paid for a jersey number with equity in his chicken company, Greener Pastures Chicken. Miller signed a one-year, $5.5 million contract with the Dallas Cowboys last month, and wanted No. 40, the number he wore at DeSoto High School, Texas A&M, the Rams and the Bills. Hunter Luepke has worn it for the Cowboys since arriving as an undrafted free agent in 2023. Miller opened the negotiation with a lifetime supply of chicken from Greener Pastures Chicken. He then offered $40,000 to $50,000 to cover full-body tattoo work. Luepke asked for equity instead, at 2%, which Miller said on his Free Range podcast would be worth multiple hundreds of thousands of dollars. Miller gave up "a piece of it" and has not disclosed the figure. The Cowboys confirmed the swap on Thursday, and Luepke switched to No. 30. Greener Pastures Chicken is a 35-acre USDA-certified organic poultry farm in Elgin, Texas. Miller majored in poultry science at Texas A&M, and co-founded Greener Pastures around 2018. Patrick Mahomes, Drew Brees and Nick Foles hold stakes in it. Luepke proved that every athlete can leverage access, attention, or even a number to make smart business deals. The cash offer would have cleared his account in a year, but the stake still pays him after he stops playing, and puts his name on a cap table next to three Super Bowl-winning quarterbacks. Beth Kluge liked thisBeth Kluge liked thisToday we launched Target Beauty Studio. I’m incredibly proud of what this team has built, and even more proud of how they built it. What struck me most today was the power of partnership. Beauty Studio only happens when people trust each other enough to build something new, move quickly, and believe in what’s possible together. More than 90 beauty brands came together to help bring this to life. I’ve watched our teams and our founders build, problem - solve and push one another over the past several months, and seeing everyone together today was a pretty special reminder of what that kind of trust can create. I also had the chance to join Kim Baker of Glamazon Beauty on stage at the Inside Beauty & Wellness Forum presented by DSN to talk about the future of beauty and the power of partnership. It was especially meaningful to have that conversation and then spend the rest of the day celebrating with our team and brand partners. I started the day in New York and ended it in Minneapolis with the people who brought this to life. I couldn’t think of a better way to celebrate! Constellation Brands posted a smaller-than-expected drop in second-quarter sales, aided by steady demand for beer, even as the company's key Hispanic consumers reel from the Trump administration's immigration policies. CEO Bill Newlands said the company was navigating a "challenging socioeconomic environment that has dampened consumer demand," but its beer business outperformed the industry. https://lnkd.in/e9e4X59b #drinks #sales #profit #beer

Searching for growth? General Mills has announced plans to boldly go after the over 55s in their quest to increase volumes. While much of CPG chases 18-45s or the latest wellness fad, General Mills is placing its bets on three under-the-radar, high-leverage consumer groups: - Adults aged 55 +, who account for nearly half of U.S. households and have enormous spending power. - Consumers using GLP-1 medications (up to 12%+ of U.S. adults), who’re eating less but seeking more protein, more functional nutrients, smaller portions. - Hispanic shoppers, where General Mills plans to ramp up innovation and engagement by ~40% in FY26. This move takes product renovation in new directions - redesigning products and formats to match how people now live, eat and feel. They’re innovating for smaller households (smaller pack sizes), higher-protein need states, functional nutrition and not just indulgence. And this isn’t an isolated move. It’s part of a broader CPG reboot as the absence of growth looms.
