The State of the Vagina Report: A Ground Breaking Look at Women’s Health, by
O Positiv Health
After surveying thousands of women across the U.S., one thing became unmistakably clear: women are still navigating their bodies in a healthcare system that offers too little education, too few answers, and not nearly enough trust.
This first-of-its-kind report exists because silence, stigma, and misinformation still shape the way women experience their health through every stage of life.
Here’s a sneak peek of what we learned:
• 60% of women were never taught about the vagina in school
• More than 70% have never received menopause education
• 60% don’t trust their OB/GYN, and 68% skip annual visits altogether
• 96% are unable to name the phases of the menstrual cycle
• 74% say menopause negatively impacted their careers
• 22% feel uncomfortable even saying the word vagina out loud
Together, these knowledge gaps reveal a system that has consistently undereducated and underserved women’s health concerns, often leaving women to rely on unverified information to understand their own bodies.
The 2026 State of the Vagina Report was created to bring clarity, honesty and validation to the female experience. It’s a data-backed examination of vaginal and sexual health, hormones across life stages, menstruation, menopause, pregnancy, and the healthcare experiences that shape women’s everyday lives.
At O Positiv Health, we believe progress in women’s health starts with prioritization, and calls for education, evidence-based guidance, and conversations that are long overdue.
This report is our way of putting the data behind what women have known all along—and helping move the conversation, and the system, forward. Women deserve healthcare that meets them with knowledge, respect, and care.
