Christian Harris reposted thisChristian Harris reposted thisAs we look ahead to the upcoming Fourth of July weekend and begin to celebrate America 250, we’re reminded of the deeper meaning behind these moments together. While many of us will gather with family and friends to mark the holiday, it’s also a time to reflect on the history, resilience, and shared values that have shaped our country over the past 250 years. At Sunkist, we’re proud to be part of that story—rooted in generations of growers, built on hard work, and connected by a spirit of community. Here’s to honoring where we’ve been, celebrating where we are, and looking ahead to what’s next. 🍊✨

Christian Harris liked thisChristian Harris liked thisWhen you are in the lemon business, National Lemonade Day is a day you celebrate. The break room at Bay Center Foods was set up with Chick-fil-A lemonade and a lineup of flavored syrups. Team Members spent the day rebuilding old favorites (hello Key Lime Lemonade and Pineapple Dragonfruit!) and inventing new combinations just for fun. There was also a lemony surprise visit from a member of the Culture Council, which brought plenty of extra smiles. It was a good day to enjoy the results of the product that Bay Center works so hard to create perfectly every day. On this day, Team Members truly made lemonade out of lemons.

The badges looked incredible, the quality exceeded expectations, and they played a big role in creating a polished experience for our attendees. What impressed us most was their customer service. When we encountered a misprint, they jumped in immediately, worked with us to find a solution, and helped ensure everything stayed on track. It's rare to find a vendor that combines exceptional products with exceptional people. We couldn't recommend Billy's Badges more!

〽️Update on the US Egg Market and Avian Influenza: - Avian Influenza has not impacted a major layer operation since early October. - Virus remains present across the country but has spared layers operations. - Industry is unsure how or why layers have stayed out of the path. - This has allowed production to recover. - Expansions have also added to the total layer population. - USDA reporting 302.85MM layers as of December 1st, following gov. shutdown. - Layer numbers appear under-reported, given market conditions. - Markets have collapsed, reaching the lowest levels since summer 2023. - 1st of the year inventory levels are the 2nd highest in the last decade. - Retail prices have been slow to follow wholesale benchmarks. - Exports, which typically account for about 3-4% of production, are limited. - Foodservice demand is slow, with limited promotional activity. - Seasonal holiday schedules slowed manufacturing and product needs. - Further processors have built substantial shell egg inventories. - Liquid prices nearing 5-year lows. - Inventories of frozen and dried products are rapidly increasing. - Supply is clearly outweighing demand, odd given the reported flock size. - The US population has been affected by deportation. - Est. 2mm people out of the country. - Lower prices should generate aggressive retail promotion and price adjustments. - Additional layer growth could keep pressure on the market. - HPAI will remain a catalyst. (2025 Jan-March - peak of the outbreak) Hoped everyone enjoyed their holiday season and have a great start to the New Year! #eggs #commoditymarkets #HPAI

US beef plants are grappling with significant challenges as cattle herd sizes plummet to their lowest in 50 years. The U.S. Department of Agriculture recently reported an 11% year-over-year decrease in cattle placed in feedlots for November, marking a historic decline. October figures were similarly low, signifying a worrying trend for the beef industry. As of December 1, overall cattle inventories in feedlots were down about 2.1% from the previous year. The halt in Mexican cattle shipments, aimed at curbing the screwworm pest, has further strained the situation. Beef processors, already operating at losses, now face the dual pressures of inadequate supply and increased production costs. For consumers, this translates to more expensive American steaks for the foreseeable future, complicating efforts to control beef prices. Major industry player Tyson Foods Inc. announced plans to close a Nebraska facility and scale back operations at a Texas plant, signaling the gravity of the supply crunch. Hyrum Egbert, a seasoned expert in the beef industry, warns that at least one other large plant and several regional facilities might face closure in the next 18 months due to persistent supply issues. The situation is particularly dire in the South, reliant on Mexican cattle imports. Yet, the impact is nationwide. In response to soaring beef prices, steps have been taken such as lifting tariffs on Brazilian beef imports. However, imported beef makes up only a fraction of the U.S. supply, emphasizing the critical role of live cattle shipments from Mexico in stabilizing the market. #BeefIndustryChallenges #CattleHerdDecline #USBeefMarket https://lnkd.in/eb9pHyid

Everyone wants reliable beef supply. The real question is who’s willing to build the systems, partnerships, and processes that make it possible. In today’s protein landscape, consistent supply has become one of the most valuable and most complex advantages in the industry. Domestic herd cycles, unpredictable weather, and shifting trade dynamics have made reliability harder to achieve. The most resilient supply chains are no longer just regional. They are diversified, data-driven, and globally aligned. Supply assurance begins long before an order is placed. It is built through disciplined forecasting, smart sourcing across hemispheres, and alignment between production capacity and customer demand. Regions with strong traceability systems, transparent animal welfare standards, and year-round production offer the kind of predictability that keeps businesses moving even when markets tighten. Consistency also depends on what happens after the product leaves the plant. Cold chain integrity, documentation at every transfer point, and local support determine whether that reliability holds through to the end user. When these systems work together from paddock to port, the result is confidence in every shipment. Global sourcing, when done right, is not about finding the cheapest option. It is about building dependable access to quality beef, every time. Read the full article for a closer look at how integrated supply models are helping the industry stay steady in uncertain times. USDA releases plan to fortify beef industry U.S. Secretary of Agriculture Brooke Rollins announced a new plan to support America’s cattle producers. The document, titled “USDA Plan to Fortify the American Beef Industry: Strengthening Ranches, Rebuilding Capacity, and Lowering Costs for Consumers,” was released Oct. 22. “America’s food supply chain is a national security priority for the Trump Administration. We are committed to ensuring the American people have an affordable source of protein and that America’s ranchers have a strong economic environment where they can continue to operate for generations to come,” said Secretary Brooke Rollins. “At USDA we are protecting our beef industry and incentivizing new ranchers to take up the noble vocation of ranching. Today, USDA will immediately expedite deregulatory reforms, boost processing capacity, including getting more locally raised beef into schools, and working across the government to fix longstanding common-sense barriers for ranchers like outdated grazing restrictions.” The plan focuses on three pillars: Protecting and improving the business of ranching Expanding processing, consumer transparency and market access Building... https://lnkd.in/gK3rVrcA
