Theo Goldin shared thisWhen you wear your brand, consumers tell you what it means to them. If you hear stories like this you are having a real impact. Keep at it and stay true to your brand. And be sure to keep having fun with it.Theo Goldin shared thisI have to share a story with you—something that happened on my flight yesterday. ✈️ A flight attendant noticed I was wearing some Hint branded clothing and asked if I worked for the company. I replied, “sort of.” 😊 She then shared her connection to Hint, the brand I founded 19 years ago. Her son is a Make-A-Wish child, and recently, they toured Amazon’s headquarters with none other than Jeff Bezos. She mentioned that both she and her son are big Hint fans, and she believed Jeff was as well. At each stop on their tour of the headquarters, they were welcomed with some Hint. She recalled the flavors they enjoyed along the way. While she shared how emotional the trip was, and how happy her son was to meet Jeff, she also included Hint in her recollection of the story. As I listened to her heartfelt story, she ended the recollection by asking me what I did for the company. Creating a product, a company, that people love, that sparks connections like this, and makes people happier and healthier—there’s no better feeling. And knowing that powerful, forever moments for that flight attendant, that mother, included Hint? That’s priceless. 💧❤️ A few additional takeaways: I’ve always believed in branded merchandise—stuff that people notice. Often, people want to speak with me about the brand I am so proud to often be associated with. “Swag” that looks good and that stands out. I have no shortage of stories from consumers who have stopped me after seeing the Hint brand on me, to share their own Hint story. Often also ask where they can buy what I am wearing. Their stories inspire me. 💯 Being able to create and lead a company that helps people is a gift—an unexpected one that I am so grateful for. Never underestimate that. It’s worth more than you know. 📍 #HintWater #CustomerLove #Health #BrandStory Hint Inc. #Leadership #MomentsThatMatter #Inspiration #Verlinvest #GoodSwap #Stories #FounderStories

Theo Goldin shared thisNice article in the Washington Post highlighting that harmful diet sweeteners have found their way into a disturbingly large number of food and beverage products that you might not expect. Since Kara Goldin and I created Hint water almost 20 years ago millions of people have moved away from diet-sweetened drinks and started on the path to a healthier life. We're proud to be helping America fall in love with water, but now we need to watch out for diet sweeteners in all sorts of other products that didn't use to have them, as the food and beverage industry continues to push lower calories as a solution even though the evidence suggests that zero calorie sweeteners (including natural ones) cause more harm than good. Thanks Jordan Shlain, MD for sharing this article and for your efforts to help people avoid diet sweeteners and other harmful "innovations."Theo Goldin shared this🍎 Don't be fooled. Fake sugar is as bad, if not worse, than real sugar. It's an invisible, metabolic toxin. Why? Why can't we just eat real food made by nature: sunshine, soil and water? - Eat Real CertifiedHow fake sugars sneak into foods and disrupt metabolic healthHow fake sugars sneak into foods and disrupt metabolic health

Theo Goldin posted thisOn this International Women's Day, I am grateful for Kara Goldin, whose vision, positive attitude and persistent hard work have created the opportunity for me and hundreds of other people at Hint Inc. to make something that matters to millions of people. Every day, we encounter fans who tell us we've helped them fall in love with water and lead a healthier life. Kara has also shown a generation of young women and men that if you believe in something and work hard at it you can still build a successful business in America. I only wish that our lead investor Verlinvest would have had the vision and courage to let their only portfolio company that had a woman CEO go public and show the world what we can really do. Perhaps we will still find a way. Stay tuned! #internationalwomensday

Theo Goldin posted thisTO MY FRIENDS IN CALIFORNIA: If you are a Democrat or moderate Republican in California and you don’t vote NO on Recall you are making a grave mistake that you will regret. The regular elections are coming up around the corner and that is the chance to have a healthy debate about people and politics. The Recall is a cynical end run around that process. Bitch all you want about whatever you think Newsom didn’t do or did do. But vote NO on the Recall. Some truly sinister people are using your legitimate emotions to get you to either sit this vote out or to vote with them against your own interests. If you are mad about the the state of California, the price of gas, homelessness or anything else, you need to vote NO on Recall and then get your voice heard in the normal election when there is time to understand who the alternate candidates really are. Don’t be fooled and don’t encourage these bastards to keep wasting hundreds of millions of dollars on unnecessary and misleading recall elections.

Theo Goldin posted thisEliminating cookies from the internet is ridiculous and unacceptable. This move (coming soon to a browser near you) hands an insane amount of power to Google, Facebook, Apple and other tech giants, whose businesses are built (to varying degrees) upon the notion that they can become gatekeepers between brands and consumers and it is a win for huge consumer brands like Coke, P&G and Unilever, because they can afford national TV ads and billboards, so they don't need targeted internet advertising. Cookies allow brands to focus a portion of their ad spending on people who have already shown interest in their products. That's a good thing for both the consumer and the brand and the consumer can always opt out to the degree they don't want to see ads that are relevant to what they've viewed on the web. Removing this feature won't protect anyone's privacy but it will hurt small innovative companies that can't afford national TV campaigns and who rely on targeted internet advertising to get the word out. Calling out cookies as a privacy issue is mostly a fake news attempt by big companies to control the world. Privacy advocates who buy this BS need to wake up and realize that they are just hurting consumers.

Theo Goldin posted thisIf you truly care about your brand, you need to call your teammates on their bullshit. If you are not prepared to do that then you either work for the wrong company or you suck. There is nothing better (professionally) than being able to help build an amazing brand. If your teammates don’t get that, aren’t committed or are simply not good at their job, they are letting you down and don’t deserve to have you cover for them. You should help them see what needs to be done, should help them be able to do it, but if it isn’t in them you can’t just sit there watching them screw it up.

Theo Goldin posted thisAttention all AI startup sales people: Get yourself some EI (emotional intelligence) and send me some RI (relevant intelligence), so I can start believing that there's some HI (human intelligence) left in this world. In other words, if you're working for a company that's supposed to be able to generate amazing insights for me, don't send me an email with a bunch of generic bullshit. Send me some actual amazing insights about my products, my company, my industry, etc. Otherwise you're just one of the 1,000 annoying people who contact me on a daily basis basically asking me to research your company because of how amazing you must be. And for god's sake please do not try to connect on LinkedIn when you don't even know me or my business. Who the f_ck is funding all of these AI startups anyway? I must get ten emails a day from AI companies. Apologies to anyone who is not the intended target of this rant.

Theo Goldin liked thisTheo Goldin liked thisFour years ago this week I was informed by The Coca-Cola Company that Honest Tea was going to be discontinued. As Just Ice Tea approaches its fourth year on the market and we scale national distribution at Kroger, Safeway, Albertsons Companies, and Publix Super Markets, it’s a good moment to reflect on the people Coke’s decision touched and what has happened since then. In addition to the thousands of tea farmers who were connected to Honest Tea, there are other noteworthy stakeholders who were impacted by the decision. One of the more interesting stories is related to Sandy Douglas who was President of Coca-Cola North America and the driving force behind the creation of the Venturing & Emerging Brands group, which first invested in, and then later acquired Honest Tea in 2011. From 2008 - 2019, we worked together to scale Honest Tea and Honest Kids within the Coca-Cola system. Though we made a lot of progress - taking the business from $23 million to more than $200 million in sales, Sandy and I had numerous disagreements along the way. I insisted on using the phrase “No High Fructose Corn Syrup!” on the Honest Kids package, which didn’t win me many fans inside Coke HQ. And I was an active voice for the on package disclosure of GMOs, while Coca-Cola advocated for a nationally standard Smart Labels QR Code which linked consumers to a website to gain full ingredient information. Even though there was a huge power imbalance - Sandy was the President of a multi-billion dollar business, and I was running a small organic bottled tea company, with every interaction, there was always respect and trust. We both kept our word. By the end of 2019 Sandy and I had both moved on from Coca-Cola and didn’t have any interactions until May of 2022 when we both learned the news about Honest Tea. By this time he had taken on a new role, as CEO of UNFI, the nation’s largest publicly traded distributor of healthy and specialty food and was in a powerful position to help accelerate Just Ice Tea’s growth. Within weeks of the news we started working together again. This time to launch Just Ice Tea, which embodied so many of the values we bet on with Honest Tea. Today, UNFI is Just Ice Tea’s largest distributor, bringing our tea to the shelves of Whole Foods Market and thousands of other stores. It’s gratifying for us both to see a bottled tea rooted in organics, Fair Trade, and health grow so quickly. It helps prove the thesis behind VEB’s investment was sound, even if Coca-Cola won’t be the owner to see it come to its fruition. When Sandy and I were working together, and occasionally butting heads in the Coca-Cola tower in Atlanta, neither of us could have imagined that ten years later we would be working together to scale an organic bottled tea not associated with Coca-Cola. You never know what’s going to happen in life or in business, so treat people the way they want to be treated. There’s no guarantee it will help you in this life, but it could in the next.

(WOW!!!) U.S. Census Report Shows Wine and Beer Exports Collapsed by $472 Million in 2025 (a 26% drop from 2024 figures) For wine alone, exports dropped by $428 million — a 33.5 percent loss from 2024 The Census’s “Alcoholic beverages, excluding wine” category also saw a major decrease in exports — its $2.8 billion total represents a $215 million slump from 2024 to 2025. In 2025, the U.S. saw a $1.1 billion plunge in imports of wine, beer, and related products. The decline is even more drastic in alcoholic beverages, excluding wine: The category recorded a $3.1 billion decrease in imports from 2024. https://lnkd.in/ghrnAEay

"COST OPTIMIZATION" VS. "EXPERIENCE OPTIMIZATION"? - A CHEF-CEO’S CONFESSION Flavorings might solve the volume equation, but they sacrifice the produce's 'peak maturity'. In the F&B industry, flavorings are often the safest bet to protect profit margins. I’m frequently asked: "Why doesn't Fuwok Chà just use flavorings? It’s cheaper, consistent and supply is never an issue." As a CEO, I know that’s the easy road for the balance sheet. But the Chef in me refuses to cut corners. I choose the rougher path: Committing to Real Ingredients. Breaking the "Frozen" Stigma At a production scale, "fresh" can sometimes mean inconsistent quality during transit. At Fuwok Chà, we choose a practical solution: Deep Freezing. By freezing fruits at their absolute Flavor Peak, we lock in the nutrients and the authentic taste. This allows us to deliver a stable, natural fruit profile year-round, without relying on synthetic shortcuts. The Reality of Sourcing We don't romanticize "farm-to-table" stories or use fancy regional names just for marketing. The naked truth is that we partner with professional suppliers to ensure strict safety standards and processing protocols. My standard isn't about a specific region's name, but the Flavor Profile. We source flexibly to keep up with market demand, but the output quality remains non-negotiable: The ginger must have that specific kick; the lychee must be fragrant enough to elevate our Kombucha. Sustainability through Practicality For me, sustainability isn't just a buzzword; it’s about Waste Reduction. Using processed, frozen ingredients significantly reduces spoilage and inventory loss. When less food goes to waste, operations become more efficient and responsible. Closing Thoughts F&B is about selling Authenticity. Real ingredients cost more. The operational risks are higher. But in return, we aren't selling "fruit-flavored" drinks. We are striving to deliver the taste of real fruit. #FuwokCha #CEOInsights #SustainableBusiness #LocalSourcing #FoodAndBeverage #VietnameseAgriculture #Kombucha

How does a buyer decide if your flower is top shelf, standard, or value? In a previous episode, Julio Vasquez explains how he tiers a menu, why “value flower at a standard price” breaks trust, and how customers build the same mental tiers when they shop. He also touches on why he leans on budtender feedback and education instead of chasing THC numbers alone. 👇 Follow us on YouTube, Spotify, and Apple Podcasts.
