Dan Lowden shared thisData center narratives are being influenced by foreign state aligned networks. This Blackbird.AI RAV3N investigative report shines light on this important threat.Dan Lowden shared thisThe backlash against AI data centers is homegrown, large, and organic. However, a BLACKBIRD.AI analysis of anti-data center narratives over a 12-month window shows evidence of opportunistic, foreign state-aligned narrative amplification. Their purported goal: Exploit American anger and turn up the volume. Some of the top narrative themes are: - Water: roughly 276,000 posts claimed data centers drain local supplies and degrade access, and 98% of foreign state-aligned posts in this narrative were shares aimed at the top engagement earners. - Energy: roughly 264,000 posts tied the buildout to rising residential power bills, where foreign state-aligned accounts amplified a single hyper-partisan influencer more than 3,400 times. - Environment: roughly 27,000 posts centered on one hyperscaler campus in the American South, with bot-like activity reaching 50% and 46% inside the two most active foreign state-aligned ecosystems. Dan Lowden shared thisGreat week at BlackHat for the Blackbird.AI team!Dan Lowden shared thisLate #BlackHat2026 take... The same AI tech is creating the next generation of security problems... and the only line of defense. The ultimate double dip. We spend a lot of time talking about everything AI can create. We spend far less time talking about the people and organizations left to clean up the downstream risk it creates, from increasingly automated cyberattacks to manipulation, impersonation and attacks on perception. Frontier models are accelerating the rate by which attacks are perpetuating and detected, while agentic AI is quickly becoming the only thing that can have a shot at remeditation. Great conversations throughout the week with Dave DeWalt and the NightDragon team, comparing notes on where security is heading as the economics and speed of attack change and with our team Ten Eleven Ventures, BLACKCLOAK and World Wide Technology. I also sat down with Information Security Media Group (ISMG) for an editorial conversation about narrative attacks as a cyber threat vector and how offensive AI is changing the scale of the problem. And like like last year, was a great ending to host some of our partners and colleagues at The HACKASAN Party at Hakkasan Group.

Dan Lowden shared thisEdward Amoroso has just published this great report on ‘Why CISOs Must Focus On Narrative Attacks.’ Every security leader should read this as this new threat vector that targets executives and companies precede cyberattacks. Getting ahead of it is critical to reduce risk and the impact. This is the way.Dan Lowden shared thisFor most of the past decade, the CISO mandate was purely cyber defense. TAG Infosphere CEO Edward Amoroso and BLACKBIRD.AI CEO Wasim K. co-authored a new report about the intersection of narrative attacks and cybersecurity. + Narrative attacks often precede and amplify cyber incidents. + Bad actors who manipulate the information environment can shape business decisions. + Security teams that adopt narrative intelligence technology are better positioned to defend organizations. Dan Lowden shared thisI have seen many posts about the World Cup and how it brought the world closer together. I believe this is true and I saw the unity in person while attending the Croatia vs. Ghana match in Philadelphia (check out the header goal in the video I captured on my iPhone - it’s beautiful to watch). I saw the unity again in Times Square and in downtown Boston (the Scots!) during the early weeks of the tournament, watching visiting families with little kids wearing their favorite player’s jersey, taking it all in. Yes, there is always bad shit that happens (read our FIFA blog series on narrative attacks - https://lnkd.in/g6eYMYUf) but what I experienced changed me, and I believe most everyone who attended (or watched) for the good. I was never a football fan, but now I am. I saw many beautiful and magical moments during matches on the field that will stay with me. When I went to Philadelphia, the amount of World Cup fans in line to get their picture taken next to the Rocky Balboa statue at the art museum steps was more than one hundred people long and the pre-game outside the stadium was a massive party with fans from all countries celebrating together. There were also the stories about tournament fans that captivated me, like BBQ in Texas, Ranch Dressing, Buckee's, Costco Tours, running out of beer prompting emergency deliveries (the Scots!), and free refills. Many visitors were surprised by the beauty of the host nations and the warmth and reception they got from the host nations' people. My Dad always told me that 99% of the world’s population are nice people and share common ground. I experienced this during the World Cup. We crave community and trust, we crave celebrating during moments of joy, and we support each other during a team's loss. From checking out the fun pre-match activities by sponsors, or seeing fans cheering, singing, and dancing before, during, and after the match, or watching it in a pub, or for me at the local Elks Club… this was fascinating to see. I loved watching on TV when a country’s team would win. The fans from the home city’s watch parties would go crazy, hugging, jumping, and crying in each other’s arms. This is what the U.S. needed to see and what the fans from hundreds of countries and territories attending and watching also experienced. We need to remember that in business, we are all people with common ground and needs that look for trust, connection, celebration and community just as we saw during the World Cup. I will miss starting out each business meeting with, ‘Did you see the match last night?’ or ‘Who are you cheering for tonight?” I won’t forget how it changed me. Hopefully it changed you too.

Dan Lowden shared thisI am proud to share that Gartner has positioned Blackbird.AI as the 'Market Shaping Leader' in their 'Emerging Market Quadrant for Narrative Intelligence - June 2026.' We are placed highest for ‘Potential to Execute’ and furthest to the right for ‘Potential Market Disruption.’ This one is extra special for me as we helped create the category of ‘Narrative Intelligence’, enabling our customers to identify, respond to, and reduce risk from threat actors, cybercriminals, and nation-state AI-generated narrative attacks. They target brands, executives, and national security organizations to cause financial, brand, cyber, and physical harm, and it's a massive problem. We are here to help protect against them. Congratulations to the entire Blackbird.AI team and thank you to our customers, partners, and supporters who have helped us build toward this moment! It is extremely exciting to see Gartner, and the many top analysts that contributed to the Emerging Market Quadrant for Narrative Intelligence and publish other research on disinformation, misinformation and deepfakes, recognize Blackbird.AI as the Market Shaping Leader. Alfredo Ramirez IV, Apeksha Kaushik, Akif Khan, Amber Boyes, David Senf, Dave Aron and many more. See the link below to get full access to the report.Dan Lowden shared thisWe are excited to announce that Gartner® has positioned BLACKBIRD.AI as A Market Shaper In The Emerging Market Quadrant for Narrative Intelligence, - Startup Vendors as of June 2026. The company placed highest for Potential to Execute and furthest to the right for Potential for Market Disruption. “This is another tremendous milestone for the company, where Gartner’s recognition of BLACKBIRD.AI as the industry leader in the Narrative Intelligence category, that we helped create, reflects the mission we’ve been building toward for years,” said BLACKBIRD.AI co-founder and CEO Wasim K.. “AI-generated influence campaigns, coordinated reputational attacks, geopolitical narratives and agentic swarms can move markets, disrupt operations, erode trust, and reach the boardroom in minutes. Narrative Intelligence Detection and Response is now critical to institutional trust, governance, and resilience." Dan Lowden shared thisAn incredibly important NYSE leadership event where the topic of the impact of disinformation, misinformation and deepfake based narrative attacks targeting executive leaders, the board and the brand were discussed. See our CEO’s perspective on it below.Dan Lowden shared thisSpent last Friday at the the NYSE Boardroom with board directors, C‑suite executives, investors, and AI ecosystem leaders for an invitation‑only, Chatham House-style summit. Thank you to Steven Wolfe Pereira ⚡️ for pulling BLACKBIRD.AI into the Alpha Institute for AI Governance NYSE Agentic Enterprise Summit. Alpha is doing incredibly important work bringing the people into the same room to have the conversations most companies are still avoiding. Had a great discussion with my panelists Natasha Kohne and Shannon Nash, Esq., CPA that the room found "intriguing and terrifying". (I get that a lot.) For years, I've believed Narrative Intelligence belongs at the highest levels of decision-making, because Narrative Attacks now moves markets, shapes regulation, changes customer trust, creates security risk, and impacts enterprise value. Agentic AI raised the stakes. That conversation belongs in the boardroom. It always has. The response after the panel made that clear. Board members are ready to understand how technology can create decision advantage, trust, resilience, and oversight in contested information environments. Was great seeing old friends and making some new ones as well! Maryam Banikarim, Dean Ball, Stephanie Cohen, Suzanne Brown, Rod Cotton, AJ R., Will A. Dan Lowden liked thisDan Lowden liked thisThreats against executives have surged over the past year. Traditional executive protection programs now require narrative intelligence detection and response to gain insight into digital threats before they escalate. - Detect escalation early: Monitor coded threats, doxxing attempts, and calls to violence across public social media, forums, and fringe platforms. - Uncover manufactured amplification: In one whistleblower narrative analyzed by BLACKBIRD.AI's RAV3N Research team, more than 40% of participating authors displayed bot-like characteristics. - Track persistent narrative risk: “Zombie narratives” can resurface months later, making ongoing monitoring and shared intelligence across security, communications, and HR essential. In one Iranian-linked cyber incident, state-aligned accounts reframed a corporate security breach as part of a geopolitical conflict within four hours of the first organic post, before the affected company issued a public statement. The report outlines how national security, communications, and security leaders can detect campaigns during the seeding stage, before amplification occurs. Read the report: https://bit.ly/3TXVqY4

Dan Lowden liked thisDan Lowden liked thisGartner's latest report recommends that organizations establish a trust council, a cross-functional group that governs TrustOps and defines who owns disinformation risk across cybersecurity, marketing, communications, and risk teams. Dan Lowden liked thisDan Lowden liked thisI'm grateful to the University of Rochester Entrepreneurs Network for last night's panel in New York, and to Brown Rudnick for hosting. I'm a CTO and technical founder, and I spend most of my days collaborating with our teams at BLACKBIRD.AI and inside the systems behind our product, so it was energizing to talk about our journey alongside Vlad Cazacu , Coco Sellman, David Chen, and particularly my co-founder and friend Wasim K.. We've worked together for years, and the Rochester Founder panel was a great opportunity for our first event on the same stage! The audience brought sharp, thoughtful questions, and we could have kept it going for hours. At the reception, I met founders and alumni who were already planning ways to work together, which is the kind of momentum every early-stage idea needs. Thank you to Michelle Cavalcanti and the entire organizing team for creating a room where people with big ideas can find each other. I look forward to continuing the conversation. When the link is live, we'll share the panel recording on LinkedIn, and you can learn more about the other panelists here: https://bit.ly/4rECOsI

Dan Lowden liked thisDan Lowden liked thisI started looking into the issue of digital fakes around two decades ago, during my time with the UK Home Office. The rise of #AI and the exponential increase in the capability and accessibility of digital tools has created some big challenges when it comes to #deepfakes, further compounding the risks I saw when I started looking into this space. Today, the World Economic Forum's 2026 Global Risks report ranks misinformation and disinformation as one of its top global risks. So, how do you keep up with the evolution in the world of deepfakes and make sure that you have the right elements in place to minimize the #risk from this? My Gartner colleague Apeksha Kaushik recently presented a webinar on deepfake detection, narrative intelligence and digital trust, which dives into some of approaches and technologies that can help organizations defend themselves. Like many modern challenges, this does require a multifunctional response that goes beyond IT and cybersecurity - that is one of the big takeaways that Apeksha offers at the end of the session. Where does the issue of deepfakes, misinformation and disinformation rank in terms of the risks your organization faces today? https://lnkd.in/gdvQ3fQ7

💡 Key takeaways from Red Helix's Cyber in Focus podcast with Centripetal's Christopher Handscomb on the challenges of implementing cyber threat intelligence today: 1️⃣ Cost & access – Individual CTI feeds are expensive. Even if you can license them, scaling coverage quickly becomes cost-prohibitive. 2️⃣ Correlation & clarity – How do you compare, validate, and reconcile conflicting intelligence from multiple providers? 3️⃣ Storage & operationalization – Where do you store volumes of data that far exceed what a 100+ person team could process daily—and more importantly, how do you turn it into actionable controls that actually prevent threats from entering the network? CTI isn’t just about collecting intelligence. It’s about making it usable, scalable, and operational. 🚨 Spoiler alert, answers found here: https://lnkd.in/dqW7JbQ3 #CTI #cyberthreatintelligence #managedsecurityservices Thanks to the Red Helix team Tom Exelby and Rob Pocock
