Dan Rowe reposted thisDan Rowe reposted thisI am interested in bringing my experience to the board of a public or privately held company seeking an independent director with seasoned legal, franchise, governance, and business judgment. My board experience includes: · 22 years as a member of the Board of Directors of Sbarro · Service on the Board of Directors of Crumbs · Service on the Board of Directors of First Foods Group Each of these companies was publicly traded during my board service. These roles gave me extensive experience working with management teams and fellow directors on corporate governance, strategic planning, growth, risk management, regulatory matters, and the responsibilities that accompany service to shareholders and other stakeholders. As a franchise attorney, I also bring decades of experience advising businesses on franchise development, transactions, compliance, dispute avoidance, and the practical challenges of building and protecting a brand. I would welcome the opportunity to speak with public or private companies seeking an experienced board member whose perspective combines legal knowledge, business experience, and more than two decades of boardroom service. Please feel free to contact me directly or share this post with someone who may be interested. Email hkestenbaum@hlkpc.com Phonehkestenbaum@hlkpc.com Phone 516-567-1180

Dan Rowe shared thisThanks Franchise Times for the great MUMBO coverage of HB Protein Smoothies franchisees across the country.Dan Rowe shared thisHB Protein Smoothies is making headlines again, this time in Franchise Times ! In their first year of franchising, HB Protein Smoothies has built a development pipeline of more than 250 locations across the U.S., fueled by experienced multi-unit operators who see strong potential in the brand’s protein-first positioning, simple operations, small footprint, and scalable model. 🥤📈 Veteran franchisee Bob Morris, who owns 19 7 Brew Coffee locations and previously held a significant Planet Fitness portfolio, has signed on to open at least six HB locations in South Florida. He pointed to the strength of the protein category, the quality of the product, and HB’s clean, straightforward operating model as key reasons for investing. The article also highlights HB’s growing roster of experienced franchise partners, including Chris Phillips and his team, who plan to develop at least 12 locations across Arizona, Idaho, and Oregon. Phillips sees protein continuing to move beyond fitness and into the broader lifestyle category, creating even more room for the brand to grow. With experienced operators joining the system across multiple markets, HB continues building momentum as it expands its footprint nationwide. Dan Rowe reposted thisDan Rowe reposted thisSmall teams win. Why: Because adding people creates hidden coordination cost. At first, every hire feels like progress. Then meetings multiply. Decisions slow down. Handoffs creep in. This is the problem I now hand to AI agents. A small team goes further than ever when it's backed by a team of AI agents. Here's how to build your first one: https://lnkd.in/et3iYDXd It's also why Jeff Bezos championed the two-pizza rule at Amazon: if two pizzas can't feed the team, it's probably too big. The maths is simple: → 3 people = 3 lines → 5 people = 10 lines → 7 people = 21 lines → 10 people = 45 lines Each new hire adds more coordination than the last. I learned this first-hand at Pivotal Labs, facilitating large groups. To keep everyone heard, we capped breakout groups at 3 to 5. Each group shared back. That share-out mattered. It also added cost. The lesson has stayed with me. Before you ask for more headcount, count the communication load. Two focused teams of five usually outperform one team of ten. Same people. Lower coordination cost. Alignment stays cheap. What's the smallest team you've seen outperform a much bigger one? ♻️ Repost this to help others. Dan Rowe reposted thisDan Rowe reposted thisA little full-circle moment… Before HB Protein Smoothies, before FirstLight Home Care, the multiple Plato's Closets, LaunchPad Trampoline Park, and before a lot of the lessons I’ve learned in business… There was Golden Spoon Frozen Yogurt. 🍦 I was 24 when I got started with Golden Spoon in Las Vegas. It was my first experience owning and building a business — and I learned a LOT. Over the next few years, we opened four locations before eventually selling them to one buyer and moving on to the next chapter. Fast forward all these years and somehow I find myself back in a somewhat familiar world. A product that tastes like dessert. Retail locations. Site selection. Buildouts. And the excitement of starting something from scratch. Only this time, I'm bringing HB Protein Smoothies to California — with a lot more experience than that 24-year-old kid had. I recently stopped into a Golden Spoon and couldn't resist having some while taking a little trip down memory lane. Funny how business sometimes brings you full circle. And speaking of site selection… that's exactly where the HB journey is today. I'm back out touring potential California locations, looking for that first perfect HB home. The hunt has been interesting. 🔎 More on that very soon… #Entrepreneurship #Franchising #BusinessJourney #HBProteinSmoothies #GoldenSpoon #California

Dan Rowe liked thisDan Rowe liked thisOctober is Cybersecurity Awareness Month. That phone in the drawer hasn't been switched on in two years, and everything you put on it is still sitting there. Photos, saved logins, the email account that resets every other password you own. Bring it in and we handle the wipe at the counter while you watch. Then you walk out with cash instead of a drawer you keep meaning to deal with. paymore.com #PayMore #preownedtech #CybersecurityAwareness #Cybersecurity #CybersecurityAwarenessMonth
