A CNC stirrup bender pulls rebar straight from a 2 to 5 ton coil, then straightens, bends and cuts it in one cycle. No pre-cut bars, no marking, no carrying steel between stations. Typical machines handle bar up to 16 mm (#5), larger ones up to 20 mm (#6). Manufacturers quote 1,600 to 2,400 small stirrups per hour. The operator loads coils, picks the shape on a screen and checks quality. What you really get: → Repeatability: stirrup 10,000 matches stirrup 1, so cages fit without forcing → Less waste: a continuous coil leaves far fewer offcuts → Safer work: fewer hands near moving steel, less repetitive strain The catch: a premium unit costs roughly $100,000 and up. The math only works with volume. So there are two real buyers: rebar fabrication shops, and large contractors whose project needs thousands of tons of reinforcement. For everyone else, payback is slow and a simple bender wins. One surprise: the US came late here. Twist-free spooled rebar, the ideal feed for these machines, has been rolled in Italy since 2002. The first US mill started in 2018, and most high-end benders in American shops are still imported. The machine is not the advantage. The volume behind it is. He always encouraged his kids to pursue higher education, and that path led me to law school. While I was there, I saw what he had built and chose to join the family business before I even graduated. Since then, I've earned my master's from the UF Rinker School of Construction Management, passed the bar, and obtained my General Contractor license. Over the past five years, our businesses have grown from $25 million to over $100 million in annual revenue. With the rollout of our new C-suite, I'm proud to step into the role of CEO while continuing to serve as our General Counsel.
