David Cain shared thisStill feeling the incredible energy from our 3rd Annual ElevenX Talent Summer Bash last week, celebrating our amazing clients, partners, and the GTM talent that makes this industry so special. We had 90+ founders, GTM leaders, VC talent leaders, and investors join us this year, making it our biggest gathering yet. We're truly humbled by the turnout and, even more importantly, by the trust and support so many of you have shown us over the past three years as we’ve built our small-but-mighty search firm. Thank you for trusting us to help build your GTM leadership teams and to play a small role in some of the biggest career decisions you’ll ever make. It’s a responsibility we never take for granted. We’re incredibly grateful—and more energized than ever—as we head into Year 4. 💙💙💙💙💙💙💙💙💙💙💙💙💙💙 pics attached and more in comments :-) Janine O'Neill (she/her), Regan Cain, PHR

Huge congratulations to everyone at DC and Trimble Inc. for a very smart acquisition.David Cain shared thisTrimble announced today it has signed an agreement to acquire Document Crunch, a leader in construction-specific AI document analysis and risk management across the project lifecycle. David Cain shared this[client on the move!] Huge congrats to everyone at Shepherd, your investors, customers, and partners! Huge milestone! Love what you're building over there Justin Levine!David Cain shared thisToday we're announcing our $42M Series B at Shepherd. We're in the midst of a generational infrastructure boom to power AI, and we're building the only AI-native commercial insurer to cover it. This moment would never have been possible without our partners, retail brokers, and existing investors. Four years ago we were little more than an idea. Today we've written over 1,500 policies and counting for some of the most consequential projects and assets in the U.S. Thank you to Justin Smith-Lorenzetti and the Intact Private Capital team for leading this round and believing in what we're building. And to Costanoa Ventures and Spark Capital for doubling down once again. I wrote more about the raise and where we're headed: https://lnkd.in/gQkk39kn.

David Cain shared this[client on the move] Huge congratulations to Dakotah Rice, the entire Harper (YC W25) team, Emergence Capital , Y Combinator, and all the investors! Love how you're transforming the commerical insurance world with an AI-first approach. You're building an incredible business over there and we're proud to support you. ♥️David Cain shared thisWe raised $47M from great investors like Emergence Capital, Y Combinator, Antler, Peak XV Partners, 10x Founders, Lobster Capital, Outset Capital, Optimist Ventures, Pioneer Fund, Untapped Ventures. That's the headline, but this is my real story.

David Cain shared this[client in the news] Huge huge congratulations to Jin W. Chang, Mark Horton, everyone at Fieldguide, and all the investors who supported them! You're building a legendary company!David Cain shared thisWe didn’t start Fieldguide to raise money. We started it to solve a problem we knew intimately–an industry stretched thin, asked to do more with less. Today we announced our $75M Series C, led by Goldman Sachs. It’s a milestone we’re proud of, but it isn't the whole story. The real story is that audit and advisory has hit a breaking point. Agentic AI is no longer experimental. It’s expected. And firms aren’t asking if they should modernize the work, they’re asking how fast they can. I had the opportunity to sit down with Leo Schwartz at Fortune to discuss this and what’s next for Fieldguide. Thanks to Leo for the great conversation, and to our customers and partners as we enter our next phase. https://lnkd.in/gZfy3rDAGoldman Sachs leads $75 million funding round for Fieldguide, an AI-native accounting and audit platform | FortuneGoldman Sachs leads $75 million funding round for Fieldguide, an AI-native accounting and audit platform | Fortune

David Cain shared thisHey marketers, really good overview and valuable tips and insights on AEO/GEO from Joe Chernov in his latest article. Absolutely worth a read!David Cain shared thisHere are my thoughts on the expansion of visibility optimization from purely SEO to SEO plus AEO / GEO. I quipped recently that when it comes to traffic, the query giveth; the prompt taketh away. But despite that stark(!) difference, there is also a remarkable number of similarities between the two practices. Anyway, have a read and let me know what you think. https://lnkd.in/ebhWev39Beyond SEO: The State of AEO, According to Vendors, Agencies, and Marketers - Battery VenturesBeyond SEO: The State of AEO, According to Vendors, Agencies, and Marketers - Battery Ventures

David Cain shared thisClient in the news! Huge congrats to Federato and all their investors! Major milestone. They're building an incredible company and changing the insurance world in the process.David Cain shared thisWe’ve raised a $100 million Series D led by Goldman Sachs, a milestone that reflects a profound shift underway in the insurance industry. 🌐 Insurers are signaling that the era of the Old Core is ending. The future belongs to AI-native, full-lifecycle platforms built to help insurers make better, real-time decisions in tune with the AI transformation surrounding all of us. This raise is powerful validation of our mission. Changing the way insurance work gets done drives huge returns to insurers and insureds alike. With continued support from all our existing investors, Emergence Capital Caffeinated Capital, StepStone Group and Pear VC, we’re doubling down on building the technology that will define this next chapter of an impactful industry. David Cain shared thisHey Event/Field Marketing folks, here's your chance to join an awesome company and amazing leader. Lauren Sommers is best of the best.David Cain shared thisWe’re growing the team! I’m looking for a Senior Event Manager (Third Party & Field Events) to join me at Eudia! One of the biggest reasons I joined Eudia was its event-minded, community-first approach — the belief that real connection happens when people come together. Having founders who truly believe in the power of events has shaped this past year into one of the best. Now, I’m looking for someone who shares that same passion — who loves crafting meaningful experiences, thrives on creativity and logistics in equal measure, and wants to be part of one of the fastest-growing startups out there. If that sounds like you (or someone you know), come join me on this incredible journey → https://lnkd.in/gepSV_kg #marketing #events #b2bevents #fieldmarketing #thirdpartevents

David Cain liked thisI’m incredibly proud to share that I’ve been appointed as the next Chief Executive of Pilotlight. I first joined Pilotlight as a Trustee in 2025, driven by strong belief in the purpose and mission of the organisation. Since May, I’ve had the privilege of stepping in as Interim CEO, and I’m honoured to now take on the role permanently. I care deeply about Pilotlight’s work: strengthening charities and creating lasting social impact by bringing the right business expertise to their most critical challenges. I’m excited to work with the team, our partners and our brilliant community of volunteers as we mark Pilotlight’s 30th anniversary, build on its momentum and support more charities in the years ahead.David Cain liked thisToday, we’re announcing that Iana Petkova has been appointed Chief Executive Officer of Pilotlight, with immediate effect. Iana has already made a significant contribution as Interim CEO since May, following her previous role as Trustee. She brings deep knowledge of Pilotlight, strong leadership and valuable experience across the corporate and not-for-profit sectors. Since 1996, Pilotlight has created lasting social impact by bringing charities and business expertise together. Through carefully designed and facilitated programmes, we help charities strengthen their leadership, capability and impact. As we begin this next chapter, Pilotlight is in a strong position, with a clear strategy, a talented team, committed partners and real momentum behind the work. David Cain liked thisDavid Cain liked thisYesterday Lauren Lake and I were back at Harvard Business School to present our case to Reza Satchu's MBA class, The Founder's Journey. The case walks through a decision we faced head on: keep building the punch list management tool we'd spent six years building, or pivot to a new opportunity in workforce planning. The students debated it hard, and happily, many of them landed on pivot (phewf!). I'm glad they did, because that's the call we made too. Today Bridgit is the category leader in AI workforce planning for construction, and we work with 40% of the ENR 400. What struck me most is that every year we come back, more students in Reza's class are ready to make the leap into entrepreneurship. Their pitches this year were fantastic, and I can't wait to watch them build their ventures over the course of the year. A special thank you to Reza Satchu. This is genuinely our favourite day of the year. It's a rare chance to step back, reflect on the business and the team we've built, and remember all the obstacles we got through to get here.

"We're product-led." "We're sales-led." Cool. Your fastest-growing competitor is both. Here's the thing nobody tells you about running a hybrid GTM: Your free trial users ARE your enterprise pipeline. But if your RevOps can't connect product usage data to your CRM, you're literally watching six-figure deals sign up, poke around and ghost. We put together a full playbook on how to run self-serve and enterprise sales under one roof without the two motions eating each other alive. Segmentation frameworks, tech stack breakdowns, timing triggers for when to layer in each motion, and the three mistakes that kill hybrid GTM before it gets going. DSK BRAND
102 followers
We didn’t build DSK BRAND in 2024 to send more emails. We built it because outbound was broken. Too many B2B SaaS and IT firms are working harder than ever. More tools. More automation. More sequences. And still asking why pipeline feels unpredictable. It’s not effort. It’s infrastructure. When ICP boundaries are unclear, the wrong prospects enter the funnel. When deliverability is ignored, reputation gets damaged. When automation runs without control points, noise scales faster than revenue. Outbound is not a tactic. It is infrastructure. At DSK BRAND, we engineer outbound before it goes live. Targeting defined. Domains protected. Workflows controlled. Scale earned. Since 2024, that approach has generated 320+ qualified leads in 6 weeks and improved inbox placement from 74% to 97%. Pipeline should feel controlled. Not accidental. We build the system.

ForgeX's last State of ABM survey found that 41% of teams running 1:1 ABM assign more than 8 accounts per full-time practitioner. That staffing ratio makes true 1:1 execution nearly impossible. On a recent Revenue Xchange episode, Vincent DeCastro (Founder, ABMA) called it a red flag when organizations expect one person to handle ten to fifteen accounts individually. 💡 His recommendation: three accounts should be the ceiling per practitioner, with four being a stretch. Each account requires weekly strategic sessions with the sales team where both sides are mapping engagement signals against what the AE is hearing in conversations. Those sessions need to be detailed and in depth. At five accounts, that's five separate weekly strategy meetings before any campaign work gets done. ForgeX research backs this up. Best practice for 1:1 ABM is 2-8 accounts max per full-time marketer, yet fewer than 40% of teams follow best practice staffing ratios. Capacity planning is one of the most overlooked decisions in Enterprise ABM. The ForgeX ABM Certification covers resourcing models, deployment strategy, and how to right-size your program. Most ops teams get pulled in at the end of planning season. "Hey, here's the headcount plan. Figure out where to put people." Don’t fall into this trap. RevOps should be leading the strategy conversation. Stephen Rickli, Head of GTM Strategy & Ops at Zip, does it differently. His team starts the conversation 6 months earlier: → If we clean-sheeted our sales org from scratch, what would it look like? → Are we attacking the right pockets of the market? → Have we segmented the business the right way? That's the conversation that shapes territories, quotas, and team design. Not the other way around. The best RevOps teams aren't reactive. They're in the room before the decisions get made. The GTM teams winning in 2026 aren't bigger. They're more selective. Headcount was never the real GTM strategy. It was the workaround for not knowing which accounts actually mattered. SaaS economics have forced the issue. Broad coverage across massive databases burns rep capacity on accounts that were never going to buy. The pipeline looks full. The conversion numbers tell a different story. The fix isn't more tools. It's tighter prioritization. When your data can tell you which accounts show real buying signals, your people stop working the list and start working the opportunity. Less territory. More precision. Better revenue efficiency. The teams getting this right aren't adding headcount. They're cleaning their data, scoring accounts on intent, and deploying human effort only where it compounds. 3 SDR metrics your dashboard tracks that don't predict a single closed deal. Sales leaders love a full activity dashboard. Investors love a full pipeline report. Neither one tells you if the SDR motion is actually working. After building and running outbound infrastructure across venture capital, private equity, and B2B teams, here's what the dashboards usually get wrong: 1) Activity volume over connect quality Dials and emails sent measure effort, not outcome. What predicts pipeline is the connect rate with verified, ICP-fit decision-makers — not the number of names dialed. 2) Meetings booked over meetings held and qualified A booked meeting that no-shows or turns out to be the wrong buyer is a vanity metric. Show rate and ICP fit on booked meetings matter more than the raw count. 3) Reply rate over reply-to-opportunity rate A high reply rate means little if those replies stall out. Track how many actually turn into a next step, not just how many people wrote back. The SDRs usually aren't underperforming. The scoreboard is just measuring the wrong things. 👇 Which SDR metric does your team lean on most — and has it held up against your actual close rate? #B2BSales #SDR #SalesDevelopment #VentureCapital #OutreachOps
