Ed Schultz shared thisI love the campaign our team launched to find an amazing new wahine and kane for our famous AlohaMac box. If you know someone that would be great, tell them to submit their story using the QR code below.Ed Schultz shared thisA Statewide brand campaign rooted in community and cultural pride 🌺 At Hawaiian Host, we just launched our latest integrated marketing campaign: The New Faces of AlohaMacs—a bold, people-powered search for two new ambassadors who will represent our most iconic product across Hawai‘i and beyond. This isn’t just a packaging refresh. It’s a celebration of real people who embody the values we hold dear: aloha, humility, connection to the islands, and a deep love for Hawai‘i. Over the past 13 years, Kawehi Kamakele has been the face of AlohaMacs, bringing warmth and authenticity to our brand story. As we look toward the future, we’re building on that legacy with a campaign that invites the entire state to be part of the journey. 📈 The Reach ✅ Statewide media buy across broadcast, digital, and in-store channels ✅ Commercial partnership with Hawaii News Now ✅ Strong influencer + social push to drive engagement ✅ UGC contest with a compelling call to action + generous prize pack ✅ Deep retail visibility in key partner stores ✅ Key partnerships More than just visibility, this is about deepening our connection with our community and giving locals a platform to be celebrated as the true Hosts of Hawai‘i. Check out the campaign spot and see how we’re redefining what it means to be the Face of AlohaMacs → www.HawaiianHost.com If you know someone who lives and breathes aloha, tell them to enter. Ed Schultz liked thisEd Schultz liked thisPlease join me in congratulating Diana Birkett Rakow, Daniel Chun, Alisa Onishi, Jacob Aki and the entire team for an incredible and successful Alaska Air Group Investor Day, which took place on Tuesday, 29 September. It was good to be in the room, hearing directly from the company's executives, learning about what they are currently confronting economically, how those economics impact decision making, and how those decisions work to define the Alaska/Hawaiian brand of the future. Throughout the day, Alaska's three success pillars--scale, relevance, and loyalty--provided a clear framework for that future. And, I found Ben Minicucci's assertion that "if we don't shape our future, someone else will shape it for us," to be particularly poignant. It, of course, got me to thinking about our work at the Hawaii Visitors & Convention Bureau and the future we are working to realize. There is, yet, another Alaska mantra that has stayed with me: "We don't chase horizons; we find new ones." Those of you who know me, know that this one would resonate with me deeply. Leadership, of course, requires us to contend with conditions immediately in front of us while retaining the imagination necessary to see beyond them--to find horizons that do not yet exist and then have the courage and discipline to move toward them. I find Diana to be precisely this kind of leader: strong, thoughtful, and deeply attentive to both the right now and the long term. That matters for us in our Hawai'i. The integration of Alaska and Hawaiian has carried enormous consequence for our people, our economy, our connectivity, and our relationship with the world. It requires leadership capable of maintaining that responsiblity while imagining what might yet be possible. Investor Day provided a window into that work: an organization clear-eyed about the economics before it, disciplined around scale, relevance, and loyalty, and willing, yet, to shape the future it imagines rather than wait for someone else to decide what that future is. Congratulations to Diana, Daniel, Alisa, Jacob, and the entire Alaska Air Group team. Here's to charting new horizons! Let's goooooo! #Leadership #FindingNewHorizons #FutureMaking

Ed Schultz liked thisEd Schultz liked thisLinkedIn just informed me that Innovation Protocol turned 20. I had no idea. And I was surprised by how emotional that made me. 20 years. 350 organizations. Lots of ups, downs, sideways. And more learning than I knew entrepreneurs signed up for. I started IP for a simple reason. 3 previous employers put me in the penalty box for spending nights and weekends helping nonprofit boards steward rebrands. Those were "potential billable hours." So I wrote the IP business plan committing 5% of our services to nonprofits. People told me that was impossible. So, out of spite, I doubled it to 10%. 20 years later, we've served 40+ nonprofits, including organizations supporting the unhoused, returning special forces personnel, and adults with developmental disabilities losing state support. A few things 20 years taught me: Being a founder gives you a weird relationship with your company. At 30, I assumed everyone would organize their lives around the business the way I did. That wasn't fair. At 50, I understand that great employees can care deeply about the work and still put family, friends, health, and life first. They should. Sometimes losing the client is the right decision. At year 10, our whale client repeatedly treated their employees terribly in front of us. Eventually I called them on it. Termination letter the next day. I had to float my team's comp out of my personal savings for months. Then that toxic leader was fired. Their whole team advocated to the CEO to bring us back. That company remained a client for another five years. Sometimes the best investment in employees has nothing to do with their jobs. We started a Toastmasters chapter inside IP so everyone could practice communicating. My mom even joined! Former employees still tell me how it changed their lives outside work. And the best thing you can build might be people who eventually leave you. Many former IPers have built their own brand practices. Even better, many made nonprofit work part of their businesses. "If you love somebody, set them free." Thanks, Sting. After working across just about every category imaginable, I've learned something bigger: People want things to believe in. Organizations have an extraordinary opportunity to give people something to belong to, advocate for, and care about. But here's the one that gets me. When our kids explain what I do, they say: "My dad built his own brand called Innovation Protocol, and they help other people make their brands." I've never taught them to say that. Gets me every damn time. My advice to anyone thinking about starting a company? First: don't. Seriously. It will take more of you than you think. That life isn't for everyone. But if you still can't stop thinking about starting it... Maybe that's your answer. Happy 20th, Innovation Protocol. I love you. Thank you LinkedIn for reminding me. If you've been part of IP's story, share a memory below. Apparently I'm feeling nostalgic today. 2009 crew featured in pic!

Ed Schultz liked thisEd Schultz liked thisToday, Alaska Airlines and Hawaiian Airlines unveiled what's coming next for our guest experience across each of these two incredible brands. What really brings both Hawaiian Airlines and Alaska Airlines to life is our people - whether sharing genuine Hawaiian hosptiality or remarkable care and connection - our teams make us who we are. These investments continue to give them even better tools to support them in taking care of our guests while staying deeply connected to culture and place - and set us up for a strong and thriving future. For Hawaiian, we're expanding our Leihōkū experience across the travel journey and sharing the future for our A330 widebody aircraft interiors, Hawai‘i airports and Honolulu lounge. Beginning in 2028, there'll be 22 lie-flat Leihōkū Suites on Hawaiian’s redesigned Airbus A330 fleet, serving as our premium front-cabin experience as First Class on domestic routes and Business Class on international routes. The redesigned A330 will provide the only four-class offering at scale between Hawai‘i and North America - with Leihōkū Suites, Premium Reserve, Premium Class and Main Cabin. The tip-to-tail updates, high-quality meal offerings from local chefs, Hawai‘i-based onboard product partners and of course the genuine Hawaiian hospitality of our crews means an exceptional experience for every guest. Mahalo nui loa to all our teams, guests, partners, communities and owners who make this possible. Read more here: https://lnkd.in/gqHHiHxr

Ed Schultz liked thisEd Schultz liked thisI think you're going to like what's next. Over the past two years, we've brought Alaska and Hawaiian together, launched Atmos Rewards™ and expanded our global network, all while running the most on-time airline in the U.S. Today, we're unveiling the next chapter in our plan. For Alaska Airlines, it’s Aurora – our highest expression of the brand and an end-to-end premium experience spanning private check-in, Lounges, dining and lie-flat Suites. We’re bringing Aurora Suites to our 787s and, for the first time, a true suite-style experience to transcontinental flying on at least 25 new 737-10s. For Hawaiian Airlines, it’s Leihōkū – the most elevated expression of the Hawaiian Airlines brand. Guests will have dedicated check-in and access to a new Lounge in Honolulu, redesigned cabins on our entire A330 fleet including new lie-flat Leihōkū Suites, plus dining and amenities. There’s much more in today’s announcements, including Premium Reserve, new Lounges and more ways to engage with Atmos Rewards. We plan to raise the experience no matter which seat you are in – through the care our teams provide, the food we serve, the technology we offer and all the details that add up along the way. It’s a transformational moment, and I’m incredibly proud of our teams who are building it and delivering it.

https://lnkd.in/g7TCcVrr Summary of the Article: The U.S. restaurant industry is currently flooded with value deals and promotions, a trend that gained momentum in mid-2024 when McDonald's launched its $5 Meal Deal. Since then, many major chains—such as KFC, IHOP, Red Lobster, Burger King, and more—have rolled out aggressive discounting to attract cost-conscious consumers. This surge in promotions is a direct response to declining traffic, especially among lower-income diners, as inflation remains high and consumer sentiment is weak. New data from Circana reveals that deal-seeking behavior is at a 50-year high, with nearly 30% of all restaurant visits now tied to a deal—a level not seen since the Great Recession. Despite these efforts, overall traffic continues to fall. However, value menu traffic has increased, and lower prices are clearly motivating diners—particularly those in households earning under $75,000. Circana’s research cautions that price cuts alone aren’t a sustainable strategy. To succeed, restaurants must also focus on quality, service, digital accessibility, and innovation. As Circana's David Portalatin concludes, the industry may emerge stronger from this difficult period, but restaurants must maintain a strong value proposition and use technology to deliver better experiences in the meantime. #radio #radioworks #qsr #restaurant
