It was fantastic to spend time with David Sabow & the German HSBC Innovation Banking seeing some fantastic fintechs and swapping ideas. Special thanks to Damien Pieretti for being a brilliant host. I will continue to skip the sausage dinner though! Then grabbed couple of "first time evers": Playing Mario Kart on a full cinema screen (a true Xennial bucket list moment!). Elad Efraim reacted on thisElad Efraim reacted on thisפגשתי השבוע מנהלת בכירה ביוניקורן פינטק ישראלי. היא ניסחה לי את זה מצוין: "יש לי כלל פשוט: אם לכסף לוקח יותר זמן להגיע מאשר לאדם עם שק מזומנים שעולה על מטוס - משהו במערכת שבור." וזו לא הגזמה. יבואן ישראלי שמשלם היום לספק באסיה מחכה 3-5 ימי עסקים עד שהכסף מגיע. במשך כל הזמן הזה הכסף כבר יצא - אבל אף אחד לא יכול להשתמש בו. בדיוק לפער הזה נכנסת המהפכה השקטה של המטבעות היציבים. המהלכים האחרונים סביב אסדרת התחום בישראל מסמנים נקודת מפנה: זה כבר לא סיפור של קריפטו ספקולטיבי, אלא תשתית תשלומים חדשה - שקופה, מתוכנתת ומפוקחת. המספרים מדברים בעד עצמם: שוק של יותר מ-310 מיליארד דולר, כ-62 טריליון דולר בהעברות ערך בשנה, וכ-60% מהפעילות קשורה לכלכלה אמיתית. להערכתי, האימוץ המשמעותי הראשון בישראל לא יגיע דווקא מהקופה בסופר, אלא מהעסקים: תשלומי ספקים, העברות חוצות גבולות, שכר וניהול נזילות. כסף שזז 24/7, כמעט בזמן אמת, ובעלות נמוכה יותר. אבל היתרונות לא מובטחים אוטומטית. עלויות המרה חזרה לשקלים, חוויית משתמש, ציות ואינטרופרביליות הם עדיין חסמים אמיתיים. אסדרה היא רק ההתחלה, וההצלחה תימדד באיכות הגשר בין היציבות הבנקאית לחדשנות הטכנולוגית. כתבתי על זה טור דעה בכלכליסט, במיוחד לקראת השנה החדשה. הקישור בתגובה הראשונה. מה דעתכם - האם 2027 תהיה השנה שבה עסקים ישראלים מתחילים לשלם לספקים בחו״ל בסטייבלקוינס? שנה טובה 🍯

But keeping track of all the details in this attention-starved world is difficult. What did I read 3 days ago? Who was that character again? How is she related to someone mentioned 150 pages ago? Etc, etc. Magic Bookmark is a spoiler-free companion for people who read books. It helps you remember characters, relationships, places and what’s happened so far - while being very careful not to spoil anything you haven’t reached yet in the book. We built Magic Bookmark around a principle that matters a lot to me: The book, not the app, is the main event. Magic Bookmark isn’t trying to replace reading, or summarize books so you don’t have to read them, or keep you staring at your phone. Quite the opposite: We want it to help people get more immersed in books, finish more of them, and hopefully buy and read the next one too. We didn't take any shortcuts in building the product, and adding each book is a pretty intensive process. So we're being very selective about the books supported in Magic Bookmark. We're launching today with several hundred books, focused on areas that are 'long narrative' - fiction, sci-fi, historical fiction, fantasy/romantasy and mystery. In short: Magic Bookmark is handcrafted for people who care about books more than technology. If you read books in these genres - or wish you read more but have trouble keeping track - I think you'll love Magic Bookmark.
