Greg Dracon shared thisGreat work by the Onapsis team in uncovering zero-day vulnerabilities putting thousands of SAP customers at immediate risk. If you're running your business on SAP, please don't hesitate to act.Greg Dracon shared this🚨 𝗢𝗩𝗘𝗥𝗣𝗔𝗦𝗦 𝗮𝗻𝗱 𝗦𝟰𝗚𝗘𝗧: 𝗧𝘄𝗼 𝗻𝗲𝘄 𝗰𝗿𝗶𝘁𝗶𝗰𝗮𝗹 𝘃𝘂𝗹𝗻𝗲𝗿𝗮𝗯𝗶𝗹𝗶𝘁𝗶𝗲𝘀 𝗽𝗮𝘁𝗰𝗵𝗲𝗱 𝗯𝘆 𝗦𝗔𝗣 𝗿𝗲𝗾𝘂𝗶𝗿𝗲 𝗶𝗺𝗺𝗲𝗱𝗶𝗮𝘁𝗲 𝗮𝘁𝘁𝗲𝗻𝘁𝗶𝗼𝗻. The Onapsis Research Labs, in partnership with SAP, has helped discover and mitigate several high-impact vulnerabilities released in today’s Patch Day. Huge kudos to the SAP Security team for their rapid response and patch release. Our strategic collaboration is once more helping SAP customers stay protected. Here is what you need to know: ☣️ OVERPASS (CVE-2026-44756) | CVSS 10.0 • The Risk: Pre-authentication Remote Code Execution (RCE) in the SAP NetWeaver kernel. • Impact: Unauthenticated attackers can gain full control of core SAP systems over HTTP(s) and other interfaces. • Exposure: An estimated *10,000+ Internet-facing SAP systems are vulnerable*, alongside internal environments. Simply put, this one is unfortunately as bad as it gets. ☣️ S4GET (CVE-2026-58240) | CVSS 9.8 • The Risk: Pre-authentication Remote Code Execution (RCE) in S/4HANA. • Impact: Full compromise of SAP data and business processes through the Message Server. • Exposure: While not typically exposed to the public internet, anyone on the corporate network with SAPGUI access can typically exploit this without credentials. 📡 Active Exploitation Status We are *not* aware of active exploitation in the wild at this time. Given the nature of the vulnerabilities, broad internet-facing exposure (OVERPASS) and AI-accelerated patch-to-exploit timelines, we are actively monitoring our Global SAP Threat Intelligence Network and will update defenders if this changes. ⚠️ Immediate Action Items • Read the Onapsis Threat Blog: Find all the information you need about the threats, affected components and remediation guidance (link in comments). • Join the Threat Briefing: Attend the live SAP + Onapsis Threat Briefing tomorrow at 10 AM EDT for detailed Q&A (link in comments). 🔒For Onapsis Customers You are ahead of the threat. • Customers using Onapsis Defend have received pre-patch, zero-day detection capabilities months ago. • Customers using Onapsis Assess can now perform automated exposure management scans across all SAP assets, identify vulnerable assets and follow remediation guidance. • Please reach out to your Customer Success Manager if you need additional support. 👊 I'm incredibly proud of our teams for discovering and helping mitigate these critical zero-day vulnerabilities. We keep closing doors for the adversaries and delivering unmatched protection for SAP customers worldwide. Your commitment to the mission is inspiring.

Don't miss Episode #221 with Jimmy Mesta, CTO of RAD Security 📅 Date: Thursday, Sep 3 ⏰ Time: at 10:00am PST / 1:00pm EST / 18:00 GMT 🔔 Watch: https://lnkd.in/gRmqHMMm 📝 Episode notes: https://gluu.co/ioh-221 AI agents are rapidly moving from assistants that generate suggestions to systems that can transact. That changes the security model: the important question is no longer just “What did the AI say?” but “What did the AI actually do, and was it allowed to do it?” Jimmy Mesta will explore what security looks like in an agentic world and the challenge of giving agents enough autonomy to be useful without giving them unlimited authority. Drawing on lessons from building AgentKeeper, Jimmy will discuss an action-centric approach to agent security including seeing what agents are doing in real time, evaluating actions in context, enforcing policy at the point of action, and maintaining the evidence needed to understand what happened. Jimmy will outline security needed in a world where autonomous agents are going to become a normal part of how organizations work. Greg Dracon shared thisCongratulations to James, Peter, Aaron, Rich, Fergal and the entire Mindgard team on their $30M Series A! Securing AI systems means understanding how to break them - models, agents, and the applications built on top of them - and no one can do that at the depth this team can. Mindgard's deep AI security research paired with elite offensive security technique is unmatched across the industry. Proud to have backed them from the early days. .406 Ventures Austin Kwoun https://lnkd.in/gHae8e46

Greg Dracon shared thisTwo decades. That's a long time and a lot of security acronyms. During our Fund I raise, several prospective investors told us "information security" was niche and would never be a large market. The niche part may have been right then: security usually meant a good password and a hardened perimeter with everything valuable inside the shell. But "never a large market?” Boy, was that wrong! Over the past two decades, data became corporate lifeblood, and employees are addicted to accessing it anytime, anywhere. In the mid 2010's, Cloud and SaaS dissolved the perimeter, and what remained was identity and data: who's asking and what they can touch. Most security innovation since then traces back to that one shift. That is about to change. Two things surprised me along the way. First: amidst rampant identity theft and breaches, why do people weaponize convenience against their own security? Seriously, turn on multi-factor authentication and stop clicking links in emails! The second, sadly related, is the chilling reality of the modern threat landscape: attackers stopped breaking in and started logging in. When we invested in Randori in 2018, the vision was to show companies how an adversary would compromise them: performing reconnaissance and launching an authentic attack that almost always resulted in a breach. It spawned segments and, yes, acronyms: EASM, BAS, and CART. Its red-teamers, part engineer and part artist, could break into anything. The industry noticed and Randori had a great exit when it was acquired by IBM in 2022. As a techno-geek myself, I expected to learn technique working with Randori, but my main takeaway was economics. Adversaries are maniacally focused on ROI. A zero-day gets you a foothold, but so does phishing a distracted employee for valid credentials, at a tiny fraction of the cost. Companies spend years defending expensive attacks while the cheap ones keep working. Enter Generative AI. What's changed isn't how attacks work. It's the price of running them. Costly attacks, once reserved for the hardest and juiciest of targets, are now close to free. AI does the phishing, hunts the unpatched service, finds the open port, writes the exploit. It won't stop at the public edge: internal segments, partner links, anything that answers a query gets discovered. Nobody gets to unplug. The next few years bring a new cyber arms race: Machine speed against machine speed. Near term, AI favors attackers; they have no procurement cycle, no compliance review, no regulators. Longer term I'd bet on defenders, because defense runs on context, and context accumulates. The biggest lever is discipline about what you connect at all, and what you refuse to leave reachable. As scary as this is, I’m excited to be in the fight and couldn’t imagine it without the scar tissue, pattern recognition and networks we’ve built over 20 years. At the very least, I’m grateful not to argue about whether cybersecurity is a niche market anymore! #406at20

Greg Dracon shared thisAnyone who's spent time in security knows that one of the best ways to assess the effectiveness of a control is to try to break it. Assume it’s vulnerable in some way and then compromise it, even if you need to build a custom exploit. That discipline is why red-teaming has become critical for enterprises to best secure themselves. AI is finally getting the same scrutiny. Mindgard made news this week with research covered by the BBC, The Independent, and CNET. It showed how elite red-teaming can push a leading image model to ignore its own content policies and generate deeply disturbing imagery. As Peter Garraghan points out, the issue isn't any single output. It's that the industry keeps treating safety filters and detection systems as evidence that risk has been handled, even as testing by adversarial AI experts consistently shows how easily these controls can be bypassed. The companies that get this right won't be the ones with the longest list of safety features. They'll be the ones who keep trying to break their own systems before someone else does. Peter's full post and the BBC article are below. 👇 Peter’s post: https://lnkd.in/gC39P8-J BBC article: https://lnkd.in/gU2aFw8q Austin Kwoun .406 VenturesGreg Dracon shared thisLast week, I shared Mindgard's research showing how ChatGPT generated graphic, policy-violating imagery from a seemingly benign prompt. The story has been covered by the BBC, The Independent, CNET,Digital Trends, and others. We've also heard from security leaders, AI practitioners and researchers who share the same concern on how little effort was required to trigger it. The discussion has reinforced something we see repeatedly in our work. Guardrails and filters are important, but they are not proof of security. Many AI vendors promote safety controls, content filters and detection systems as evidence that risks have been addressed. Yet time and time again, independent testing shows these controls can be bypassed through simple prompt variations, contextual manipulation or adversarial techniques. Greg Dracon reposted thisGreg Dracon reposted this🚨 BREAKING NEWS: Mindgard Unveils First Autonomous AI Security Platform To Identify And Fix Exploitable Vulnerabilities New capabilities enable continuous automated AI risk discovery, revealing the real AI attack surface and helping security teams conduct faster, more targeted security assessments. BOSTON, Mass., Mar. 17, 2026 – Mindgard, the leader in AI security, today announced the expansion of its automated and continuous AI security platform with the introduction of the industry’s first reconnaissance capability designed for AI models, agents and applications. This capability allows enterprise security teams to discover, assess, and defend their AI deployments against security and safety risks faster and more cost-effectively. Powered by an attack library originating from Lancaster University, the world’s largest AI security laboratory, Mindgard’s platform draws on more than a decade of AI security research and offensive security expertise. The platform is already used by Fortune 500 security teams and in the past 90 days has identified more than 80 publicly reported vulnerabilities across leading AI technologies including xAI’s Grok, OpenAI’s ChatGPT, and Google’s Antigravity IDE. Mindgard Reconnaissance automates the intelligence-gathering phase of AI security assessments, allowing security teams to rapidly map the real attack surface of AI models, agents and systems. By identifying guardrails, system prompts, tools, integrations and external services, the capability reveals how AI systems behave in production and where agentic attack paths may emerge. This enables organizations to move directly into targeted risk assessment, surfacing high-impact risks earlier and focusing security efforts on the areas of greatest real-world exposure. “Mindgard's research resulted in actionable vulnerability submissions that we were able to act on swiftly,” said John Swanson, Head of Security at Zed Industries. “Addressing these vulnerabilities hardened the Zed editor against a class of vulnerabilities common to development tools integrating AI, improving the security posture of Zed and our broader developer community as a whole.” Mindgard will be attending RSA Conference 2026, where attendees can see the platform in action through live demos, chat with the Mindgard research team and step back into the 1990s in Mindgard’s throwback booth, an ode to the .com era. The booth, S-228, will include 1990s hacker gear and an AI capture the flag challenge. About Mindgard Mindgard, the leading provider of AI security solutions, helps enterprises discover, assess, and defend their AI systems. Spun out from over a decade of AI security research at Lancaster University and headquartered in Boston and London, Mindgard combines offensive security expertise with AI research to identify exploitable vulnerabilities in AI models, agents, and applications before attackers do.

Greg Dracon liked thisEarlier this week, Kathryn Taylor Reddy, who recently stepped into the role of Partner at .406, shared her reflections on why this is the most exciting moment yet to invest in healthcare. She also writes about Bluebird Kids Health, the first investment she led, and the mission-driven founders she dreamed of working with long before she'd heard the term "venture capital.” #406at20Greg Dracon liked thisWhen .406 Ventures launched 20 years ago, I was a junior in high school, and I’m fairly certain I had never heard the term “venture capital.” I dreamt of a career in international development – working with mission-driven teams to tackle big, challenging problems and hopefully making a positive difference in the world. Even if I had known what it was, I definitely did not expect that I would end up as a Partner at a venture fund. But as it turns out, what I do now fulfills so much of what I was looking for and more. Over the past 15 years, I've worked in healthcare as a consultant, operator, and for the last 10, an investor, addressing some of the industry’s biggest challenges. This feels like the most exciting and important moment so far to be investing in innovative healthcare companies. Healthcare costs continue to rise at an accelerating and unsustainable pace, forcing change whether companies want it or not. AI will make innovative care delivery companies more capital efficient and effective. And healthcare will be one of the best industries to deploy capital in the age of AI, as provider networks, physical infrastructure, and the need to integrate with legacy systems all create opportunities to build durable, sustainable businesses. Bluebird Kids Health (BBK), the first investment I led, is a great example. BBK opens pediatric primary care clinics in “care deserts,” giving families on Medicaid easy access to high-quality healthcare. In doing so, they reduce costs for the system as a whole by preventing unnecessary emergency room visits and hospitalizations, and partner with Medicaid plans to get paid for the outcomes they deliver. They have a best-in-class tech team and are automating front and back-office functions, driving strong unit economics. Perhaps best of all, BBK is led by exactly the kind of thoughtful, mission-driven people that I dreamed of working with, even back in high school. I see that same drive in the founders of Helm and Teal, my next two investments, who are bringing fresh approaches to problems that are just as important. I am immensely grateful to the .406 team, including our company founders, LPs, and co-investors, for making this a job I never take for granted and for the privilege of stepping into the role of Partner as the firm marks its 20th year. #406at20

Greg Dracon liked thisGreg Dracon liked thisPromoting Kathryn Taylor Reddy (aka "KT") to Partner was one of the easiest decisions we've made in .406 Ventures' 20-year history. From the moment she joined in 2021, it was clear .406 was going to be her long-term home. She is smart, kind and a blast to work with. She has lived disruptive healthcare as an operator, a consultant, and an investor, and over the past few years she's led our investments in Bluebird Kids Health, Helm Health, and most recently Teal Health. I could hit the word limit sharing all the reasons KT is special, but I don't think I'd do any better than Jared Regan, a .406 summer intern, did in his farewell note: "I have to remind myself that while sometimes the pitches seem repetitive, for the founder they are describing their life's work. It's really a privilege to be able to do this, and it's important to give each founder the respect that they deserve. I have really admired the way Kathryn operates here. She is super thoughtful and respectful in a way that people really appreciate." That's a core belief at .406, and it's exactly why we're so excited to welcome KT as our newest Partner. Congratulations KT. Can't wait to see what you build in .406's next 20 years!

Greg Dracon reacted on thisGreg Dracon reacted on thisTwenty years ago, Liam Donohue, Maria Cirino, and Larry Begley founded .406 Ventures to fill a gap in the Boston entrepreneurial ecosystem. The city had too few early-stage investors who had built companies themselves and were interested in working alongside founders from day one. Today, we mark .406’s 20th anniversary and our 100th investment. Neither is really ours alone. We are what we are because founders trusted us and our limited partners supported us. We couldn't have scripted our 100th investment any better. It's Teal Health, a company led by Kara Egan, who was .406’s founding associate and gets credit for naming the firm. She returns to the .406 family in our 20th year as CEO of a company that is revolutionizing the way women test for cervical cancer. That is .406 at its core: relationships that compound over decades. We also could not be more excited to share today that Kathryn Taylor Reddy (aka “KT”), who led the Teal investment, has been promoted to Partner. Since joining .406 in 2021, KT has become one of the most thoughtful healthcare investors in the market, supporting many of our healthcare companies and leading investments in Helm Health and Bluebird Kids Health. Founders are better off with her in their corner, and so are we. To everyone who has been part of the .406 family over the past 20 years: thank you. We are every bit as energized by what comes next. #406at20 🎉 You can read more here: https://lnkd.in/gFdkkgwg

Greg Dracon liked thisGreg Dracon liked thisLast Friday at the Dartmouth College Entrepreneurs Forum in San Francisco, Liam sat down with Si France, MD to talk about his path from The Tuck School of Business at Dartmouth and Geisel School of Medicine at Dartmouth to building WelbeHealth into one of the country’s most successful PACE operators. PACE is based on a pretty simple idea: give frail seniors the care they need to stay in their homes and communities rather than move into nursing homes. Making that work in practice, particularly at scale, is much harder, and it’s something Si and the Welbe team have been working at for years. Liam and Si have known each other for a long time, and .406 Ventures has been fortunate to support Welbe along the way. So there was plenty to talk about, including the alignment of Welbe’s mission and its best-in-class operating performance, the importance of culture in building a team, and places where AI is and is not making a difference. They also got into how to pick the right investors at each stage of the company and what it takes for an investor to earn the first call for both good and bad news. This was a great warm up for Si’s presentation at .406’s Annual Meeting next week. From what we saw in San Francisco, we’re really excited to have him joining us.

Pumped to be doubling down on Fieldguide’s Series C! Fieldguide is an AI-native OS built for the audit and advisory industry. They’ve created both the system of record and the system of action, in an end-to-end platform that supports planning, reporting, and close, with AI field agents embedded throughout the entire engagement lifecycle. The platform supports audit and advisory work across risk advisory, SOC readiness, cybersecurity, regulatory compliance, IT audit, and financial audit. Demand for these services continues to grow, even as the industry faces a significant shortage of professionals. That’s why firms are adopting Fieldguide’s AI agents to scale capacity, expand margins, and become truly AI-native. I’ve known Jin for over three years and have followed Fieldguide from the beginning. Since TR invested in February 2024, the company has seen a meaningful inflection in ARR velocity, customer adoption, AI development, and market momentum. Proud to be reinvesting alongside Goldman Sachs, Geodesic Capital, Bessemer Venture Partners, 8VC, and others. Congrats to Jin, Chris, and the Fieldguide team on their Series C. Shoutout to my buddy Harris at GS, Alex at Bessemer, and our very own Tamara and Joseph at TRV. More on the fundraise in the clip below.

Institutions don’t fail all at once. They fail when design can’t keep up with change. In Davos this week, I’ll be joining the inaugural gathering of the Institutional Research Network, a new initiative convened by The Digital Economist. The focus is not another set of conversations but the patient work of connecting research, markets, and governance so ideas can take institutional form and hold under real-world pressure. Some initiatives are about visibility. This one is about durability. #Davos2026 #InstitutionalDesign #IRN #TheDigitalEconomist
