Tim Hammill shared thisAfter 11 incredible years, today, I’m closing a memorable chapter at VMware/Broadcom. First and foremost, thank you — to the coworkers, mentors, teammates, and customers I’ve had the privilege to work alongside. You challenged me, inspired me, and made this journey truly special. The relationships, lessons, and shared customer successes have been the highlight of my career. It’s been an honor to help lead through one of the largest tech acquisitions in history — navigating the Broadcom purchase of VMware and driving the integration of our Global and Enterprise businesses. The journey wasn’t always easy, but the resilience, focus, and professionalism you all brought to the table was nothing short of remarkable. As this chapter closes, I’ve made the choice to take a pause — time to reset, reflect, and recharge before diving into what’s next. To everyone who was part of the ride — thank you. I’m grateful for the memories and looking forward to staying connected. #Gratitude #NewBeginnings #Leadership #CareerTransition #Broadcom #VMware

Tim Hammill shared thisTo my network of leaders, please reach out to Ryan if you’re hiring sales professionals or front line leaders!Tim Hammill shared thisAfter 4 yrs, thousands of miles traveled across the Americas, several new product launches, a pivot to software, a global pandemic, so many new colleagues/friends, and personal growth, my time at #CableLabs, #Kyrio, and #SCTE ended earlier this month. I consider it a huge privilege and highlight of my career to have worked at CableLabs, Kyrio, and SCTE and all the talented individuals there. This truly is a special place and it has been an honor. I leave proud of what we accomplished and the future is bright with a fully stocked cupboard! So where am I going next? I’m really not sure! I took a deep breath over the last couple weeks and it allowed me to refocus with my family and friends and pursue a few passion projects that have been on my list. More to come on those soon. However, as we begin September this week, I am reaching out to many contacts to begin exploring new opportunities. If you know of a company that is looking for a senior level sales professional to contribute individually or lead a team, I would welcome an introduction. Cheers! Ryan

Tim Hammill liked thisTim Hammill liked thisThe Digital Core of the Future isn't just about technology. It's about people. That was the focus of our recent Global Technology Services (GTS) Town Hall, where we came together to discuss our priorities, the outcomes we're driving, and how we're building the IT foundation that enables the enterprise every day. Led by our GTS leadership team, including @Jordan Ramsey, @Angela Thorpe, @Ramasubramanian R, @Otto Fontana, @Khaliq Raza, @Brent Shaback, @Jamie Burnett, @Kate Blanchard, @Matt Bergmann, and @Beth Provenzano, the event centered on GTS's vision of the "Digital Core of the Future," w/ discussions on operational and engineering excellence, AI acceleration, exceptional experiences and the critical role of culture and talent in delivering results. One of my favorite moments was our Core Crew spotlight. Thru' photos and personal stories, we celebrated the people, passions, families, teammates, pets, and experiences that keep us connected, grounded and motivated. It was a powerful reminder that while we spend a lot of time talking about platforms, AI, resiliency, and modernization, our digital core is ultimately powered by people. As GTS continues to evolve, we're focused on building simpler, more reliable and secure technology services while embracing AI as a catalyst for better employee and business outcomes. But none of that happens without the commitment, expertise, and passion of our teams across the globe. Thank you to everyone who joined the Town Hall and to every member of GTS for the impact you make every day. Together, we're building the digital core of the future for UHG and the millions of people we serve every day. #GTS #DigitalCoreOfTheFuture #OneGTS #AI #TechnologyLeadership #ExceptionalExperience #AIAcceleration #Culture #Leadership

It's also our second Magic Quadrant placement as a Leader in the last month, and we see both as proof points for the technology innovation we’re building across the portfolio. We began this journey by anticipating the shift to consumption-based infrastructure and delivering on it early — great to see the industry recognition. Thank you to our teams for getting us here! Tim Hammill liked thisTim Hammill liked thisThe virtualization market is going through a significant shift right now. Gartner just released the 2026 Magic Quadrant for Server Virtualization Platforms, with Nutanix named a Leader and positioned highest for Ability to Execute. 🚀 Obviously, that’s great recognition for Nutanix. But what I find more interesting is what’s happening with virtualization platforms as a whole. The conversations I’m having aren’t as simple as replacing a hypervisor anymore. Organizations are looking at what their infrastructure needs look like for the next 5–10 years — VMs, Kubernetes, AI, public cloud, edge, data and everything in between. Are you prepared for the future? That’s where I think the Nutanix story gets really interesting. Virtualization is certainly part of it, but the bigger picture is giving organizations one consistent platform and operational experience across the hybrid multi-cloud. Technology should meet the customer where they need to be and run their workloads where they need to for the business. There’s a reason so many organizations are taking a fresh look at their virtualization strategy right now. A mass migration is underway. Are you ready? #Nutanix #Virtualization #HybridMulticloud #AHV #CloudInfrastructure

Here is a quick breakdown of where the key players stand: THE LEADERS Nutanix: Dominating the top spot for execution, making them the go-to choice for enterprise cloud and HCI. Microsoft: Leveraging the power of Azure and Hyper-V to capture massive market share. Broadcom (VMware): Still leading the industry in vision, maintaining a highly comprehensive feature set. Red Hat: Bridging the gap between traditional VMs and cloud-native containers with OpenShift. THE CHALLENGERS HPE: Standing strong with its robust hardware infrastructure and expanding software capabilities. Canonical & Oracle: Offering powerful, specialized alternatives—Canonical for high-scale open-source, and Oracle for database-optimized stacks. THE VISIONARIESSUSE: Knocking on the door of the Leaders quadrant with strong open-source innovation. H3C, IDT SYSTEM, Sangfor, & Platform9: Driving the market forward with managed Kubernetes, edge resilience, and cloud-hosted operations. THE NICHE PLAYERS Proxmox & Vates (XCP-ng): Gaining explosive momentum as enterprise-grade, cost-effective open-source alternatives. Scale Computing, VergeOS, & Citrix: Providing highly targeted, streamlined solutions for edge computing, SMBs, and VDI workloads. The Takeaway: With Broadcom's acquisition of VMware changing licensing structures, open-source alternatives (like Red Hat, Proxmox, and SUSE) and core hyperconverged rivals (like Nutanix) are seeing unprecedented interest. #Virtualization #CloudInfrastructure #EnterpriseIT #Nutanix #VMware #OpenSource #TechStrategy

The Futurum Group • 4K followers
This is one of the big conference weeks in the tech calendar, and The Futurum Group will be across much of it. NetApp Insight is where I'm at, and will be looking to hear how it positions itself as the underlying storage technology in an era where data infrastructure efficiency will be critical to maximizing ROI in AI training, RAG, inferencing. Oracle AI World is just down the road here in Vegas, and some of the team are on site. Oracle has been among the most interesting of market movers so far in 2025, and while news from the summer will be hard to top I'm hearing about some interesting announcements that will occur this week. Salesforce Dreamforce is probably the biggest tech conference happening this week and the team there will no doubt be looking to see how Agentforce is landing in the market so far, and what additions will make it more appealing for those that have yet to go beyond pilots. At the Open Compute Project Foundation OCP Summit, we will be focused on the hardware revolution required for AI. We’ll be tracking discussions around liquid cooling, power distribution, and the open standards being developed to support the high-density infrastructure required for the next generation of AI data centers. We'll be at Cribl's CriblCon where I imagine the focus will be on the "Data Engine for IT and Security." We’ll be watching to see how the platform is enabling customers to simplify data routing, enhance visibility, and integrate AI to gain control and cost efficiency over their ever-growing telemetry data sprawl. At the Red Hat AI Summit, the story is all about where AI runs. The Futurum team is on the ground, looking for updates on how OpenShift AI, RHEL 10, and AI-enhanced Ansible automation are enabling enterprises to build, deploy, and scale models across the open hybrid cloud and down to the edge. Meanwhile there is also Dell Technologies Tech Summit (analyst only) which I'm sure will explore the company’s push into the "AI Factory" concept, the overall adoption of Enterprise AI, and a look at device momentum given Windows refresh and question marks on AI PCs. What a week! Here we go...

There are a number of compelling things and differentiators that got me excited to join the NetApp family. Here's one that is kind of a hidden gem for many: NetApp Data Classification. For NetApp customers, this service is available at no additional cost through the NetApp Console. NetApp Data Classification is a robust data governance solution that provides comprehensive insights into data across hybrid multicloud environments. Leveraging AI and Natural Language Processing, it can understand content, map, and classify data effectively. This drives five great outcomes for NetApp customers: 1. Govern all of your NetApp data: Ensure all data is properly managed and secured. 2. Maintain regulatory compliance: Stay compliant with various data protection regulations. 3. Optimize storage and reduce costs: Identify and eliminate redundant, obsolete, and trivial (ROT) data. 4. Accelerate data migration projects: Streamline the migration process with accurate data classification. 5. Prepare data for GenAI/RAG pipeline for quality results: Enhance data readiness for AI model training and deployment. NetApp Data Classification is part of our broader strategy to provide an Intelligent Data Infrastructure that automates the journey of data from raw enterprise assets to AI-ready intelligence, all while preserving governance and security. 🚨 IBM just acquired Confluent for $11B — and the data streaming world will never be the same. AI agents need live, contextual data to function. That's why real-time streaming isn't a niche capability anymore, it's the backbone of enterprise AI. But here's the catch: with one company now controlling the dominant commercial Kafka platform, vendor lock-in is a very real risk. Now is the time to ask hard questions about flexibility and your long-term streaming strategy. We're shifting from data at rest to data in motion, is your stack ready? 💬 Win for enterprise data, or warning sign for the ecosystem? Drop your thoughts below. #Kafka #DataStreaming #IBM #Confluent #AgenticAI #DataEngineering #RealTimeData
