Jaclyn Cardin shared thisA friend of mine took in a Ukrainian family last week and they could really use some help getting set up. They arrived here with only two suitcases, a backpack and a stroller. The family was forced to evacuate their home and ended up relying on the kindness of others for over two months until they were able to make the long-delayed trip to the US. Read more below and please consider helping make their transition as warm and welcoming as possible.

We had the incredible opportunity to share our story on the TODAY Show’s “She Made It” segment! 🎉 From early on, we dreamed of the days we would get to share our story on a stage like the Today Show!! Seriously, emailing letting them know we had a story to tell (s/o mom!). It's surreal to fast-forward and see that dream come to life! 💛 We hope our story reminds people that whether you’re building a business, running a farm, or dreaming up something entirely new, you don’t have to have it all figured out to start. You just have to remember who you are, and do it with a twinkle in your eye and a smile on your face! 💛✨ Thank you to the Today Show and Jill Martin for giving women entrepreneurs a platform to share the stories behind what they’ve built. We’re so proud to be part of “She Made It!” ✨ And a special thank you to the people who made this possible at Startr Co., Ross Garner, Chloe Schwartz, Jessica Fischberg, Colleen Rooney Heltemes !! Jaclyn Cardin liked thisJaclyn Cardin liked thisI escaped the corporate rat race on August 1st, 2019. My big goal? Do whatever I want, whenever I want, with whomever I want, and very little of what I hate. I think that's a reasonable life goal. Most people don't. It took about 7 years, but I finally arrived at that place. 7 years of daily content, weekly newsletters, product creation, consulting, community management, etc. Tons of work. But work I picked and chose carefully. And as my little one-person business grew, I was able to be even more discerning. That's the upside you get when you build something small and flexible. Of course, there's plenty of downsides as well. But what job doesn't have those? My downsides just happen to come with a calendar that I have full control of. That's a trade I'm willing to make. If you want to build your own little one-person or two-person business, here's my 30-page guide for starting: https://buff.ly/lwqZSlG

Seeing Refy Beauty put real women front and center got me thinking about how much we still underestimate who actually influences buying decisions. It’s not just about “being inclusive.” When you show the people who truly connect with your brand, your audience actually feels seen. And let’s be honest, isn’t that what actually drives connection?

Sustainability messaging is getting more specific — and that’s a good thing. New U.S. guidelines around recyclable packaging aim to bring more clarity (and accountability) to how brands communicate environmental claims. The goal isn’t to make sustainability harder — it’s to make it more honest. For marketers and brand leaders, this is an important reminder: Clear standards help build trust. Vague claims erode it. As expectations rise, brands that communicate sustainability with transparency and intention will stand out — not because they’re louder, but because they’re credible. Worth a read if sustainability is part of your brand story. https://lnkd.in/dEcjsift

For decades, #menopause has been a whispered word spoken behind closed doors, misunderstood, and often dismissed as “a women’s issue.” But now, with more women in leadership, media, and medicine driving the conversation, menopause is stepping into the spotlight and it’s about time. Meanwhile, the term “manopause” is surfacing in parallel. While some write it off as satire or exaggeration, others are leaning in, asking serious questions about the hormonal and emotional changes men experience as they age, and whether it’s time we bring that out of the shadows, too. Menopause and manopause hit people at the height of their careers. These life stages are rich with leadership wisdom, perspective, and power, yet too often, they’re treated like a liability instead of opportunity. The companies that lead on this won’t just retain talent, they’ll create loyal, energized, and human-centered cultures.
