Jerry Pence shared thisGreat news Greg. I am excited to be a part of the team driving value to customers at Sciata. Much more to come so stay tuned!Jerry Pence shared thisLast year I joined an 11 year old software development, analytics, and technical staffing company. This group had recently been acquired, and new leadership was being installed to "professionalize and transition the business into a better version of itself". This week represents a significant milestone in that effort, in the announcement of our new name, logo, website and messaging. During the pandemic pause, our team worked very hard to challenge ourselves to be better partners for our customers, accelerating change through our approach. We are hyper-focused on helping business leaders adapt quickly to changing markets by providing time sensitive and achievable results through data science, analytics, and hard to find technical expertise. The resulting conversations have been amazing, as the demand for these services are greater than we anticipated, and the satisfaction we achieve through each new experience is driving the next project, and the next, and the next... Whatever is coming the next few months, I am personally excited for the challenge. I was newlywed with no kids, living in Los Angeles, and as the photo below will happily remind me - still holding onto a full head of hair. I had no idea that chapter would end up so central to my life, professional and personal. I started about a week after September 11th, a few months after the dot-com bubble burst, and right around the time of the Enron collapse, the broader accounting scandals, the DC sniper, and the anthrax scares. The world was not a happy place, and I remember wondering what I had signed up for. What I found was a firm that thrived anyway, and kept thriving through the 2008/2009 financial crisis, a pandemic, and more difficult moments than I can count. On the personal side too, a lot has changed since 2001. I've celebrated 25 years of marriage, we're empty-nesters now, and the full head of hair from that first paragraph is long gone. People sometimes ask what's kept me at BCG for more than two decades, and the answer hasn't really changed: the organization and the people. The thing I appreciate most about working at BCG is how we relentlessly challenge ourselves to improve in the interest of being the best firm for our clients, how we show up for each other on ordinary days and especially the hard ones, and how we've never wavered on integrity. Every piece of real value I've seen created in twenty-five years came down, in the end, to someone choosing to act a little differently on an ordinary Monday morning. Here's to the road so far, and to all the brilliant people who made it worth the ride, you know who you are. Thank you!

Jerry Pence liked thisJerry Pence liked thisThe youngest FDNY member to be killed on 9-11 was Firefighter Michael Cammarata. At just 22 years of age, he had been on the job just 9 weeks. When his company, Ladder 11 in Manhattan, was called to the scene of the World Trade Center on Sept. 11, he left a message on his father's voice mail saying he was heading to the scene of the disaster. Mike, his family said, had always wanted to be a firefighter. He was also a star hockey player for New Jersey semi-pro team. Ten years before 9/11, Michael played in the Little League Baseball World Series for South Shore Little League of Staten Island, N.Y. Today, only one number is officially retired from use in the Little League Baseball World Series. It is Michael Cammarata’s No. 11, and it is still proudly displayed on the right field wall of Lamade Stadium, where he patrolled proudly as a member of his team at the age of 12. The Huguenot resident is survived by his brother Joseph Jr, parents, Joseph and Linda and his sister Kimberly Cammarata. Mike was last seen conducting fire operations at the Marriott Hotel at the foot of the WTC. Mike's remains were never recovered. On June 7, 2003 a vial of blood donated by Mike during his time at the fire academy was buried with full department honors. This is Michael Cammarata's list that his brother found inside his night table a day after he died. 1. "Take care of Jenna," referring to his girlfriend of 7 yrs. 2."Don't mourn me. This is the career I chose. 3."Make my spirit live on." 4."Remember I love you all will be waiting for you upstairs." Mike's entire company of Ladder Co. 11 perished on 9/11. May he continue to rest in peace with his brothers... And yes Mike, Sirens and Salutes, Inc will always ensure yours, and all the Heroes taken from us that day, spirits will live on. The empty chair at the memorial honors over 92,000 soldiers who are missing. The cadet, from Parkview High School, stood strong despite the rain, and the kind Braves fan helped him stay dry. The stranger’s act of kindness quickly became a viral moment. ❤️

Jerry Pence liked thisJerry Pence liked thisOne of the greatest acts of sportsmanship you will see… Minutes after Rory McIlroy claims his first Masters, his first major in nearly 11 years and consequently, obtaining the Career Grand Slam (in a playoff nonetheless), he is greeted by some of his close peers and their families. At the end of the line (circled in red), we find the player Rory just defeated in a playoff 10 minutes earlier, veteran golfer, Justin Rose, ready to congratulate Rory on his monumental achievement. In golf, it’s customary to shake hands with your playing partners after the final putt drops. It is above and beyond to do what Rose did: to patiently wait for Rory to make his way through the avalanche of patrons, only to congratulate him yet again, after an emotional rollercoaster of a final round, and a devastating loss that would undoubtedly have put Rose into the Hall of Fame. At 44 years old, history would tell us that Rose’s best golf is likely behind him (although his performance in recent majors might suggest otherwise). Regardless of what may come, Rose reminds us of an important lesson: In competitive sport, and especially golf, you lose a lot more than you win; BUT regardless of the outcome, sportsmanship and respect outshine everything. An absolute masterclass in how to lose, and a great example for young athletes to follow suit. Well done, Rosie.

In the high-stakes world of private capital and corporate structuring, misunderstanding can cost millions. For years, analysts, investors, and even seasoned executives have defaulted to Delaware when discussing incorporation, so much so that the term “Delaware company” has become shorthand for sophistication and flexibility. But as the wave of California-based innovation reshapes the financial landscape, a different kind of corporate logic has begun to take root, one that values predictability, not prestige.

Our January 2026 Adtech & Agencies M&A and Capital Raise Report by Suzane Mokbel is live. While valuation expectations continue to reset, we’re seeing strategic buyers remain selective but active, particularly across adtech, martech, CTV, retail media, and scaled agency platforms. AI-enabled workflows, proprietary data, and clear paths to profitability are increasingly driving deal momentum and investor interest as we head into 2026. The report highlights: • Recent M&A and investment activity • Where buyers are leaning in vs. staying cautious • How valuation and structure are evolving • What this means for founders considering strategic options Read the full report here: https://lnkd.in/ePrAiGW5 #AdTech #MarTech #MAndA #CapitalRaising #RetailMedia #CTV #Agencies #PrivateEquity #StrategicBuyers #WindsailPartners

Generating compelling returns is a different game for private equity firms now than it once was. In this rate environment, we believe growth requires hands-on, operational engagement and interventions at the portfolio company level. Operational excellence has always been at the core of how we approach value creation at Brightstar Capital Partners. That means identifying the initiatives that we think can make the greatest impact and bringing the experience and capabilities needed to execute them. From strengthening processes and integrating acquisitions to thoughtfully applying AI where it can make a meaningful difference, the focus remains on building stronger, more resilient businesses. I encourage you to read my recent piece “Why the Age of AI is the Age of Operations,” exploring why strong operational capabilities are becoming even more important and how we are putting that foundation into practice across our portfolio, aiming to help middle-market businesses grow, adapt, and build lasting value. I’m stepping more directly into interim and operating CFO work. Over the past decade, I’ve consistently been brought into sponsor-backed and growth-stage platforms at inflection points — acquisitions, liquidity pressure, lender negotiations, audit remediation, capital raises, or operational scale. I build institutional-grade financial infrastructure fast. That means: • Liquidity visibility and covenant discipline • Clean audits and lender credibility • Transaction-ready reporting (QoE, data rooms, integrations) • Repeatable forecasting and KPI frameworks I work where capital and operations intersect — ensuring companies are positioned to access funding, execute deals, and scale without losing financial control. I’m open to select interim and fractional CFO mandates where execution speed and clarity matter. If you’re a sponsor, CEO, or investment partner navigating one of those moments, let’s connect. — Ken Anthony Stanford MBA | CPA | Growth Infrastructure CFO
