No invite, but I had other plans anyway. 🏨 Meetings with AC Hotels by Marriott in Capitol Hill for Woodland Gourmet. It never gets old seeing our spices, chiles, mushrooms & truffles in the kitchens (and hands) of great hotel chefs. Check out Smoke & Mirrors Bar at the top for an incredible view and inviting decor. 🦐 Which brings me to the main event: Marcus Samuelsson's - Marcus DC inside The Morrow Hotel Washington, DC Curio Collection by Hilton. Whole grilled tiger prawns, bold Southern flavors, truly Unreasonable Hospitality. Tis the Summer of the Sorrel!! Hotel dining isn't an afterthought anymore — it's the destination. As a parent whose dinners out involve chicken nugget/French fry negotiations, I'll happily pick my hotels by the chef, not the thread count. My Woodland Gourmet colleague found my tweezers and put them to good use — carefully plating each spoonful like a true culinary artist! Once you go tweezers, there's no going back!#HandModel And the real showstopper? Chia seed pudding won the crowd over completely. It means new begginings, adjustments to your schedule and new opportunities. If you have kids, it likely means you will split time with them which is an absolute adjustment because you kove from always being around them to now pivoting your schedule to have more time to experience things differently. Last night we got to spend time with one of the most seasoned chefs in Colorado and someone I’ve gotten to know over the years. That opportunity was a by product of not having the kids on Tuesdays. Life is vastly how we react to the circumstances we are put in. Positivity breeds positivity and so does negativity. If you’re going through it, keep rolling baby! You got this!! 👊 Also, how stunning is this food? Flavors were layered and complex. Incredible to see ingredients come to life like this.
