Justin Bullock reposted thisJustin Bullock reposted thisEvery employee gets unlimited Doordash, gas/waymo, and a $5K desk stipend. None of it is why they stay. The thing people stay for is the thing you can’t buy. A front-row seat to how a company actually gets built. Half our team are ex-founders. The other half want to start one. What we offer them looks like this: - sit in on how we close $1M+ deals as a 30 person company - watch 41 hrs of recorded fundraising calls from our Seed, Series A, and Series B - own initiatives end-to-end - learn the distribution motion that 2x’d signups in 3 months That’s why they stay. p.s. we’re hiring an ex-founder that likes growth

Justin Bullock reposted thisJustin Bullock reposted this$3M in bookings. 218% to quota. One AE. Liz had her best year ever, more than 2x her previous best. I asked her what was different this time. Her answer: “I came in really hungry. And everyone just let me go at it.” She listed what made that possible: - solo on discovery calls within 30 days. In the inbound queue in her first month - every process documented so she wasn’t reverse-engineering the playbook from Slack threads - sat next to engineering from day one - thousands of hours of sales call recordings $3M. 218%.

Justin Bullock reposted thisJustin Bullock reposted thisA F500 CTO spent an hour trying to peel apart one of our postcards looking for a hidden message. There wasn’t one. He searched our company name and booked a demo. The card was thick. Heavy stock. But all it had on it was two lines. Name. Tagline. No QR code. No URL (well technically our name is a URL). No discount code. He told me later he was sure he was missing something. Most B2B marketing assumes attention is a transaction. Give me your email, and I’ll give you a guide. Scan this, and I’ll give you a demo. The absence of a CTA made him pay attention. I didn’t track opens, scans, or attribution. The only way to find out it worked was the people who told us. The CTO was one. He’s now a customer. p.s. I’m hiring for an ex-founder who likes growth

Justin Bullock reposted thisJustin Bullock reposted thisBefore you scale a sales process, you should do the work yourself. That has become one of my strongest beliefs as a sales leader, and it came up naturally in my conversation with Sandra Polak on Betts Recruiting’s Beyond the Hire podcast. When I joined Alix, there were already salespeople in place. But before rebuilding the process or hiring aggressively, I wanted to experience the motion firsthand. So I did the SDR role. I took Qual Calls during odd hours: early mornings, late nights, and around the team’s existing coverage. Then I did the AE role. I worked through the pitch, handled objections, lived inside the handoffs, followed the customer journey end to end, and identified what needed to become more systemized, scalable, and repeatable. That firsthand experience changed how I built the sales system. It helped us create more scalable and repeatable GTM processes, improve the customer experience, increase efficiency and conversion across the funnel, and hire with much more clarity about what the roles actually required. Since I joined Alix, we’ve grown more than 10x across both revenue and customers. At a VC-backed AI startup like Alix, scaling at that pace means you’re building the GTM engine while it’s already running. I can’t share the underlying metrics behind that 10x, but I can say this: The growth has not just come from demand. It has come from process, execution, hiring, and an amazing team willing to keep improving. Thank you also to Nikki Zargari, Cassie Zaffanella, and the entire Betts team for inviting me to Beyond the Hire! 🎧 Listen here: https://lnkd.in/ea4qUEzeThe Leadership Principles Behind 10x Growth Within the First Year with Morgan Mackles - Beyond the HireThe Leadership Principles Behind 10x Growth Within the First Year with Morgan Mackles - Beyond the Hire

Justin Bullock posted thisBig news from the Recall.ai team. We're hiring our first-ever Founding Enterprise Account Manager, and this one's a little different. At Recall.ai, we don't just sell to customers. We grow with them. Our API sits at the heart of their product which means when they win, we win. When they ship something remarkable, we helped make that possible. That feedback loop is rare, and it makes this role genuinely exciting. The person who steps into this seat won't just be managing accounts. They'll be shaping how we build the enterprise motion from scratch — the playbooks, the relationships, the muscle memory that carries us into the next phase of growth. What you'll get: front-row seats to a market that's moving fast, a GTM team that punches above its weight, and real ownership from day one. If you've been waiting for that role...the one you can point to years from now and say "I helped build that", this might be it. Job description in the comments. DMs open. 👇

Justin Bullock posted thisEvery Tuesday we run a deal review. Our founding AE (now Enterprise Mgr) runs the room. Our COO, who wrote our playbooks, chimes in. A VP with 20 years in the game asks the question no one else has. Now I'm hiring our next sales leader to build alongside us. Recall.ai is looking for our 2nd ever front-line sales leader to shape and scale our Velocity/SMB business. The setup: → 2024: we became the infra startups build their AI meeting products on → 2025: Enterprise exploded. We opened our API to self-serve and 8x'd our funnel. → 2026: we're reshaping Velocity/SMB. 2 AEs on that team, both crushing. This isn't "come scale a finished engine." It's "come co-design it". In an emerging market where our customers ship real, revenue-generating AI products on our infra every single day. I want this to be the most memorable job of your career. Let's go! 🏁 JD in the Comments 💬

Justin Bullock reposted thisJustin Bullock reposted thisPeople ask me all the time: "Myoung, how will you know when you've found your next Notion ?" I know now. 👀 I'm talking about Recall.ai — and here's what made me a believer: Customer traction that actually means something. The kind that makes you lean forward in the meeting. A culture built on real engagement. Energy, laughter, and people who genuinely want to be there. An office so good, even Ivan would approve. (And if you know Ivan, you know that bar is high.) This is the rare company where going in 5 days a week feels like a perk, not a punishment. Recall is hiring. If you're looking for the kind of place where great work meets great people — come check out their open roles. https://lnkd.in/gB8WcPCf

Justin Bullock shared thisTwelve years ago, I worked in high-pressure sales and I loved it. If you were sick, you came in. Showing up was a badge of honor. Cultures have shifted since then. "Rest when you're sick" is the norm now. This post isn't about which approach is right. It's about something a former boss taught me. Even with healthier norms, being sick still comes with a wave of anxiety for a lot of us. Loose ends, meetings to reschedule, the FOMO of missing a few days. I felt it acutely. Then in 2018, I started working for Russ Thau. He had a simple policy: family comes first. If your family (even a family of one) needs you, go. We'll cover you. The first time I had to test it, I Slacked him: "Rough night with our daughter, she has a fever. I need tomorrow off." His reply: "Take care. We got your back." Those last four words. The mental weight lifted instantly, and I could actually focus on the thing that mattered. I've used that phrase ever since. Whenever a teammate is out sick or caring for family, I try to respond quickly with some version of "we got your back." It's small. It costs nothing. And it works. If you lead people, try it. You'll feel the difference on both sides of the message.

We are having some truly record breaking achievements this quarter that I can't help but share. A few highlights: 1. Best SMB Bookings quarter in Envoy history 2. New bookings record set for an individual SMB AE 3. Largest New Business Deal in SMB History (we actually broke this record and then broke it again this quarter) Huge congrats to my fearless frontline leaders Daniela Carvajal and Anthony McPherson - we wouldn't be getting these results without the work you put in day in and day out. Justin Bullock liked thisJustin Bullock liked thisWhen we were at Divvy we were crushing it. Every number up and to the right. Best the business had ever felt. Then Covid hit. Overnight we didn’t know if we had a business anymore. I have vivid memories of leaders hugging each other and crying saying “I’m doing everything I can to save this.” Most of our investors left us for dead. It was dark. In the middle of it all Blake Murray got the team together and handed us a flag. “No one is coming. It is up to us.” And through about a million actions from hundreds of people we got through it. Wasn’t that long after that Divvy had a $2.5B exit. That flag hangs at Redo now. We’ve rallied around it in our own moments of crisis. In good times and bad. A reminder. It is up to us.

Justin Bullock liked thisBig things are happening over here! So excited to be part of such an amazing team!Justin Bullock liked thisTwo big announcements today: 1. Conversica launched Ignite, a Revenue Activation Engine for automotive retail. 2. Morgan Stanley Expansion Capital led a majority recapitalization to scale it. Ignite connects the data dealers already have across their DMS, CRM, and outreach tools into a single context layer, identifies the revenue opportunities hidden in those connections, and activates them through personalized conversations that reach the right customer at the right moment. I have spent the past year working closely with many of the nation's largest automotive groups, and this is the problem they raise more than any other. Grateful to the Morgan Stanley Expansion Capital team for their partnership, and to the Conversica team for building something I believe will define the next era of automotive retail. Justin Bullock liked thisGrateful doesn't quite cover it. Whataburger joining Ivo as a customer means a lot more to me after spending time with their legal team, Katee Gray and Debra Baird, at the World Cup semifinal in Dallas this month. Two things stuck with me. First, how proud they are to work at Whataburger. This is a true Dallas sweetheart of a brand, and it showed. The team showed up decked out in WB football/soccer shirts, shoes, bags, and more swag than I could count. Everyone who spotted them in their WB gear, had to come over and say hi. Second, that pride is exactly why they were so deliberate about picking the right legal tech partner. When you love your company that much, you want the tools behind it to match. Proud to be part of that decision, and even more proud to work for Ivo, a company that truly treats customer relationships like actual relationships, not just accounts.Justin Bullock liked thisFor over 70 years, Whataburger has run on made-to-order—each burger made exactly the way a customer wants it. We’re excited to announce that its contracting team is applying that same philosophy by partnering with Ivo. "We evaluated several solutions, and Ivo stood out for its accuracy, consistency, and reliability. Review 2.0 has been especially valuable because it helps us benchmark new agreements against our own repository," said Katee Gray, Vendor Contracts Manager, Whataburger. "We're excited about the business intelligence we'll get from extracting insights from our contracts. The team has been great to work with, and we're thrilled about the partnership." Ivo will streamline contract workflows and enable Whataburger to extract insights from its agreements. Ivo Review grounds every decision it makes in Whataburger’s own language and precedents. With Ivo Intelligence, Whataburger can start pulling useful insights from the contracts they've already signed. And, like Whataburger’s meals, Ivo’s output is customized to their needs and the ways they already work. Welcome to Ivo, Whataburger!

Justin Bullock liked thisExcited to share that I've joined Baseten! 🚀 If you know me, this won't surprise you. I've been obsessed with AI for years and I'm bullish on where it's headed. I'm the guy texting my CTO at midnight about a white paper that just dropped. It's the most interesting problem in the world to me right now. The practical side of AI in production comes down to inference. At Baseten, inference is everything, and going deep on infrastructure has only convinced me how true that is. The best AI companies trust Baseten to run their models in production. That's the layer everything else is built on. Massive shout out to everyone at Attention, especially Anis Bennaceur, Matthias Wickenburg, and Jacob Fleisher for taking a shot on me and teaching me so much. I'm endlessly grateful I got to be part of the journey! If you're thinking about inference at scale, let's talk.

The partnership started with an inbound demo request. “I called the lead thinking it was a mistake,” said a roommaster representative. “‘Roommaster? I thought it said RooMaster!’ …but we hopped on a call anyway.” What followed wasn’t a dead end—it was a jump forward. “It turns out managing hotels and managing kangaroos isn’t that different,” the representative added. “Availability. Yield. Maintenance. Different assets, same operational challenges.” The Zoo team outlined growing complexity across habitats, with no centralized system for pouch tracking or joey movement. “For years, we’ve been piecing this together manually,” said a wildlife care specialist. “At scale, things start to jump around.” roommaster’s product team quickly got to work. Leveraging AI-assisted development, the team was able to rapidly prototype—in one leap—the first RMS deployed outside of Australia: Roomaster™ Key capabilities include: - Real-time pouch inventory tracking - Joey lifecycle management from check-in to first hop - Cross-habitat movement and availability controls - Habitat upkeep workflows for daily operations “Before roomaster, we had limited visibility,” said another zookeeper. “Now everything is accounted for. No more surprises hopping up during reconciliation.” “At the end of the day, it’s still about managing inventory,” said Mark Bloomquist, CRO at roommaster. “We're excited to expand into a new vertical.”
