Lora DeVuono liked thisLora DeVuono liked thisI’m grateful for my corporate career. I learnt a lot and worked with incredible people. Without that chapter, there would be no Jester&Genius. But I didn’t leave because I had a strong entrepreneurial pull. I left because I stalled. I got positioned in the ‘Individual Contributor’ category, meaning that I was perceived as being good at what I did, but lacked the leadership and alignment skills to go to the next level. Even worse, I was seen as someone who had no aspiration to make that leap. As it turned out, it was the best possible thing that could’ve happened, because it forced me to find my sweet spot. I now do exactly what I want to be doing in a way that’s authentically and unapologetically me. Another silver lining has been my partnership with Rose Kaur, who took a fearless leap of faith with me. Together, we’ve crafted more than 100 brand stories, with passionate and smart marketers and agencies. It brings us so much joy and a sense of contribution and purpose. The point is that careers aren’t linear or predictable. And no one role, company or classification defines us. So please don’t confuse your title or your performance review with your identity, potential or trajectory. You do you. And you’ll be just fine.

It's a brand that doesn't just deliver a great workout: It is rooted in innovation, creates community, delivers results and inspires passion in its members. Those things don’t happen by accident. What Ellen Latham and her team introduced 16 years ago has been built on the backs of incredible coaches, committed franchise partners, a talented team and members who show up for themselves and each other. My job is to build on that great work, a task I am incredibly honored to take. A few things I'm especially excited about: Maintaining brand passion. I’ve had the privilege of working on some incredible brands in my career, and OTF now ranks alongside them. Great brands are built on a clear promise and kept by the people who deliver it. I'm excited to peek under those orange lights and strengthen what makes Orangetheory special, alongside our sister brands at Purpose Brands. I'll be out in the studio, taking classes and listening, so if you see me gasping through an all-out row, say hi. Innovation. Fitness keeps evolving, and so should we. Lora DeVuono liked thisLora DeVuono liked thisLife is full of full-circle moments 🧡 This weekend, I had the honor of speaking at the The Christopher Barkley Foundation’s annual gala. The foundation supports Project Unbroken with a grant each year, allowing us to serve so many more children and families. It means a lot to us to do this work in Chris’s name. But standing on that stage was especially meaningful for me. Years ago, when I was first invited to this event, I remember telling a friend, “I can’t possibly sit in a room where they’re talking about suicide.” And this weekend, there I was. On the stage. Talking about suicide. As I prepared what I wanted to say, I kept thinking about how much can change. How powerful community, friendship and love can be. And how, even after the most traumatic moments of our lives, healing really is possible. I’m incredibly grateful for the people who helped me find my way forward and eventually gave me the courage to start Project Unbroken. What began as a way to turn our pain into purpose and help other families heal has become something I never expected. Somewhere along the way, I realized that while I was doing all this work to help others heal, I was healing too. Pretty amazing what can happen when we’re willing to talk about the things we once couldn’t even bear to hear.

The downfall of PepsiCo’s Sierra Mist is a snapshot of just how fiercely competitive the lemon-lime soda market really is. Legacy rivals like 7UP and, especially, category leader Sprite have long dominated the shelf, leaving little room for a brand that couldn’t clearly stand out. As tastes and branding expectations shifted, PepsiCo ultimately moved on from Sierra Mist and is now betting on a fresh start with Starry.
