Your best guys don’t usually flex.
You’ve probably seen the viral "cleaner" pranks (often featuring the powerlifter Anatoly).
The janitor in blue coveralls, unassuming and even looking timid, wanders into a gym full of buffed athletes.
He looks out of place and doesn't really belong.
But when he casually performs deadlifts on weights that the buffed guys were struggling to move, jaws dropped.
Some leadership lessons hiding in those blue coveralls.
1. Competence doesn't always wear a suit.
We're often bedazzled by the "bodybuilders". Loud voices, the fancy titles, and expensive suits.
i.e. authority equals capability.
How many of us will look past the "uniform" and notice the most unassuming person, who's the only one capable of the heaviest lift?
2. Humility
True servant leaders don't broadcast their power. They simply do the heavy lifting when the team needs it, & let the results speak for themselves.
3. Never underestimate the "support" roles.
How often do organizations ignore the insights of their support staff, interns, or junior employees?
Time to empower everyone to contribute, knowing that innovation and strength often come from the frontlines.
👇 When was the last time you were surprised by the hidden talent of a team member?
