GNO Chapter President Tony Rodrigue and LRA President & CEO Stan Harris were present to mingle with members. During the event, LRA Executive VP Pam St. Pierre spoke about the upcoming LRA Showcase and guided members on how to register.

For years, they’ve battled the perception that they’re muddy, inconsistent, or only meant for the grill. The truth is, the Gulf oyster industry has evolved dramatically. Admiral Oysters are proof. Deep cups. Clean shells. Beautiful meats. A balanced salinity with a smooth finish. These are oysters that belong on a raw bar and deserve to be served alongside the best oysters in the country. The biggest misconception I hear is, “We don’t serve Gulf oysters.” My question is… which Gulf oysters have you actually tried? A new generation of boutique Gulf oyster producers is raising the bar, and the quality coming out of the region today is something every chef should experience firsthand. A big shoutout to Brad Yellock and the team at for the work they do connecting distributors and chefs with some of the Gulf’s best boutique oysters. They’re helping change the conversation around Gulf oysters one shell at a time. As someone who spends every day talking seafood with chefs, I love seeing American producers earn the recognition they’ve worked for. The Gulf has always had incredible seafood.
