Tony Santos shared thisFive years ago Jason Minsky posted on LinkedIn that Christmas In The Park was looking for new board members. The drive to volunteer had been percolating in me for a while, and his request hit at just the right time. CITP meant a lot to me as a kid and as a dad, and I knew I could lend my abilities to the cause. I joined the board (served as president last year), cleaned up a lot of yikes (IYKYK), had fun, made true impact, and am ready to sign off for new adventures after a long 5 year run. I’m proud of the work we’ve done to fortify the organization for the future, and am happy to have made friends on the board/staff, and deepened my San Jose network. I love that Christmas in the Park has such a good and pure objective - to sustain itself as a free and memorable experience for the community. Nearly 50 years and counting! The organization faces a ton of headwinds and I wholeheartedly ask you to support its capital investment campaign and maybe even consider joining the board. See you at the park in December!

Sip and strolls. Coworking. Industry events. Pretty much any excuse to meet another business owner. It's been a bit of a crash course in realizing... no one really has their sh*t together. And I mean that in the best possible way. It's easy to scroll LinkedIn or Instagram and assume everyone else has cracked the code. Their content is taking off. Their ads are printing money. Their team is perfect. Their clients are easy. They're scaling effortlessly while the rest of us are wondering why Meta decided to tank our reach overnight. Then you sit across the table from them and realize they're asking the exact same questions you are. Is anyone else completely over trying to keep up with the algorithm? Or yapping videos? Should I hire... or am I about to make a very expensive mistake? How do you politely tell a client they're absolutely out of their freaking mind? Every coffee has reminded me of the same thing: everyone is building in real time. Nobody has some secret playbook they're hiding from the rest of us. When I accepted a call from a recruiter years ago to join NIO, I had no idea it would lead me down a path in the autonomous vehicle and AI industries that I would grow to love. From NIO, to Uniphore, to PlusAI, and now Sonatus , I’ve been fortunate to work alongside some incredibly smart, passionate people who are building the future of transportation and artificial intelligence. Looking back, I’ve spent the last several years working with companies that are pushing technology forward, and I guess I’ve found my niche. What I’ve realized over the years is that building relationships has always been my favorite part of every job. Yes, I love creating workplaces where people actually enjoy coming into the office, improving the space, keeping the snacks stocked, planning events, and solving problems. But it’s the people that make those things meaningful. If I can make someone’s day a little easier or help a team do their best work, I go home happy. I’m incredibly grateful to the leaders, mentors, coworkers, vendors, and friends who believed in me, challenged me, encouraged me, and gave me opportunities along the way. Every company, every manager, and every team taught me something that I’m carrying with me into this next chapter. Today I get to do it all over again, and I couldn’t be more excited to join the Sonatus team.
