Mike Self shared thisIt’s that time of the year Seed to Growth Conference 2026 in Sun Valley. The days were still warm. The nights were chilly. The colors started changing. The shoe game was strong. The pitches were even stronger. The friendships and connections even stronger-er. Thanks to our LP’s, funds, founders, speakers and sponsors. You all make it the best conference in the Mountain West. Mike Self shared thisLet’s Go!Mike Self shared thisWE WON!!!!!!!!!! 🏆 Best of Show at Finovate! What an unreal experience and week in NYC with Cary Telander Fortin. Favorite highlights (not all Finovate because it’s important to find balance when we have any time in a cool city away from our children and family duties… priorities): • Walking 20k+ steps with Cary: Chelsea > SoHo > Highline • Watching the sunset at @Laser Wolf in Brooklyn + one of the best meals I’ve had in a long time • Meeting so many potential partners at Finovate — and making new friends with some very cool founders • Dinner with Bryce Deeney and the equipifi team • Crashing Omar Jordan’s dinner and having wonderful conversations with new friends • Laughing completely out of control with Saeid Kian watching Cary give her VERY hot subway take live on stage at Second City for @SubwayTakes 😂 • And did I say WINNING BEST OF SHOW AT FINOVATE?!?!?!?! Still cannot believe that last one. And very cool to win alongside some seriously impressive fintechs: Clockout, equipifi, Goodbuy, Neural Payments, ScreenSteps, Tweezr, Vertice AI, and Young Early Starters - YES🏆 Thank you Greg Palmer and the entire Finovate crew for such a great week. NYC, you were very good to us. ❤️ Now home to our children — and back to my regularly scheduled programming of cheering on my first grader at his flag football game. 😂🏈

Mike Self reposted thisMike Self reposted thisToday Brinqa announced our acquisition of PlexTrac. This is a genuinely big moment for this industry, not just for us. Exposure management has always been sold in pieces. Plenty of vendors, us included, can tell you what to fix and why it matters. Almost none of them can also tell you, with proof, whether the fix actually worked. That piece has lived in a separate tool, run by a separate team, for basically everyone. Together, Brinqa and PlexTrac can start closing that gap, telling you what to fix, helping you fix it, and verifying it's fixed. Full details on the acquisition and what it means are in the link below. #CTEM #ExposureManagement #Cybersecurity #OffensiveSecurity

Mike Self shared thisCongrats to Daniel DeCloss and the PlexTrac team for joining Dan Pagel and the Brinqa team. It’s a been a great ride and the best is yet to come! Many thanks to Andy Langsam and everyone who made this possible. S. Somasegar is smiling down on us. StageDotO Madrona Noro-Moseley Partners Insight Partners Let’s go!!!Mike Self shared thisBrinqa Acquires PlexTrac to Close the CTEM Loop What this means to the industry? This acquisition creates the largest standalone platform built specifically for exposure management, from discovery through validated proof of remediation. For the industry, it closes a gap security leaders have had to bridge themselves for years: knowing what to fix, and knowing for certain it's actually fixed. High impact role with a mandate to build a meaningful new growth engine for Teal. DM me if interested or if someone great comes to mind.

Mike Self shared thisWinning.Mike Self shared thisWe're honored to be named in the 2026 Inc. Magazine 5000. list, marking TEAL's second consecutive year on the list of America's fastest-growing private companies. This recognition reflects the momentum we're building as enterprises move physical AI and IoT deployments from pilot to production, and demand connectivity that isn't locked to a single carrier. Thank you to our customers, partners, and team for making this possible! 🦎

Mike Self liked thisMike Self liked thisWe started GetWhys in April 2023; we fundraised in the winters of '23, '24, '25. This will be the first winter that we aren't raising in company history 🎉 (I cannot tell you how thrilled I am). FWIW, one of the many reasons why I had so much fun at Seed to Growth Conference is because I wasn't actively raising capital. It was nice to just go have a bunch of smart people ask you questions about the company you've been building—especially when they remember the startup you were pitching 3 years earlier! I'm pumped to go in 2027... if Travis and Matthew will have me back 😂

Through TESORO VC, we are committed to deepening Taiwan–U.S. collaboration across semiconductors, physical AI, and healthcare—connecting exceptional founders and technologies with customers, capital, and opportunities across the United States. This year’s Taiwan Tech Summit in Silicon Valley was truly our largest and most vibrant yet. By seamlessly bringing together cutting-edge keynotes, global talent matchmaking, and a high-stakes startup pitch competition, the summit delivered a comprehensive platform for cross-border innovation. Uniting Taiwanese tech leaders, founders, and professionals across the globe would not have been possible without the tireless dedication of the Taiwan Next Foundation and its incredible team of volunteers. A heartfelt shout-out to Katie Hsieh. Seeing her orchestrate this massive event while under the weather was deeply moving—her resilience and passion are the very reason the summit was such a phenomenal success, sparking electric conversations and meaningful connections throughout the venue. We are also profoundly grateful to Taiwan’s National Development Council (NDC) for establishing its hub in Silicon Valley, serving as a vital launchpad and exchange bridge for Taiwanese ventures. A special thank-you to Dr. Tsung-Tsong Wu, Chairman of ITRI and ITIC (Industrial Technology Investment Corporation), for his inspiring opening remarks on behalf of ITIC at Demo Day. Building global visibility doesn’t happen overnight—it takes steady, collective momentum. Like an army of ants moving mountains, our community is pooling every ounce of energy to showcase Taiwan’s deep-tech resilience and engineering prowess right in the heart of Silicon Valley. At ITIC , we are proud to support this ecosystem not only as believers in Taiwanese innovation, but also as an official sponsor of the Demo Day awards. Our goal is to encourage bold founders, celebrate risk-takers, and foster dynamic cross-border collaboration. Serving on the judging panel this year was an absolute privilege—and a tough challenge! Mike Self liked thisMike Self liked thisExcited to announce a new collaboration between MDM2 and Tesoro Venture Capital focused on accelerating the commercialization of next-generation healthcare innovation. This initiative is designed to help promising MedTech companies move beyond innovation and into real-world adoption by connecting founders with clinical validation, industry partners, capital, regulatory guidance, manufacturing support, and market access. At Tesoro VC, we believe the biggest opportunity is not simply identifying breakthrough technologies—it is building the ecosystem required to help those technologies reach patients, providers, and markets at scale. Together with MDM2, we are creating a stronger commercialization pathway for healthcare innovators while further strengthening Arizona’s position as an emerging hub for MedTech, AI, advanced technologies, and healthcare innovation. Mike Self liked thisMike Self liked thisTook somewhat treacherous, albeit gorgeous, roads (thanks, Google Maps, for leading me astray) to Sun Valley this week for the Seed to Growth Conference with RNG Group - and it was worth the journey! It was great to connect with professionals across the Mountain West and beyond -- and I'm left feeling inspired by the brilliant minds of the founders and builders in attendance. And, as always, it's a TREAT (understatement) to get to work with Jessica Cafferty and Zoe Shealy who made attending even more of a party, and I'm lucky to get to call them my colleagues (understatement #2).

Mike Self liked thisMike Self liked thisBefore joining Zoomph I worked with the University of Washington Football program. Man, have things changed in college athletics. I went to the Cal Athletics Football game last Saturday, and everywhere you looked there was a new sponsor tied to a new asset. Dialpad on the jerseys. The Dialpad Field Club. Troutman Amin LLP on the 25-yard line. Train performing at the end of the game. A few years ago, a sponsor logo on a college football jersey would have felt foreign. Today, Zoomph is already tracking 50 college football patch deals. It’s pretty fascinating to see how quickly the business of college sports is evolving. If you're curious who's getting involved, check out the Zoomph College Patch Index 👇 https://lnkd.in/gJxYiQwM

Mike Self liked thisMike Self liked thisJust back from the Seed to Growth Conference in Sun Valley, where I had the chance to represent KPMG on a panel discussing the M&A process. I joined Jake Sheldon, CFA, Seth Helfgott and our moderator, Brian Jorgenson to swap deal stories and share lessons from our combined years advising clients through the process. What made it special was being there with the broader venture community. KPMG is committed to helping private companies grow — from seed stage through growth, to an eventual public exit or other M&A transaction. Joining the panel was a natural extension of the work we do with our clients every day. Grateful to the Capital Eleven crew and the other hosts for inviting our team to join the fun in Sun Valley. Mike Self liked thisMike Self liked thisI had the privilege of attending the Seed to Growth Conference in Sun Valley, Idaho last week. The conference has become a premier gathering for early-stage venture capital — bringing together founders, investors, and partners from across the seed and growth stages for candid conversations on where the market is headed. Two things I keep coming back to: quantum is coming to everything, and the depth of entrepreneurial talent building across the PNW and Idaho is only growing. This region is punching well above its weight. Great to spend time with Cody Corey, David Arkoosh, Jessica Cafferty, and Diane Temple, among many other amazing people in attendance. Huge thanks to StageDotO and Capital Eleven for putting together such a thoughtful, well-run event. Already looking forward to next year!

Family offices aren’t optimized to maximize returns. They’re optimized to minimize existential error. Once you start there, the J.P. Morgan 2026 Global Family Office Report reads less like “elite investors missing trends” and more like rational risk engineering under a different objective function: preserve control, avoid irreversible mistakes, keep options open. A few under-the-surface takeaways: AI is the top theme—but implementation lags. Many want the upside, far fewer want the illiquidity, diligence burden, and vintage risk that comes with growth equity/VC… and even fewer want to operationalize AI’s “boring” backbone (infrastructure, power, connectivity). “0% allocation” often reflects taxonomy, not ignorance. Families can have meaningful look-through exposure via operating companies, control deals, private equity holdings, and real assets held directly—even if the portfolio bucket reads “0%.” Gold/crypto underweights are often governance/optics decisions, not IQ. Novel assets create novel failure modes (custody, policy, authorization, reputational risk). Avoiding them can be rational when the cost of being wrong is asymmetric. Inflation as the #1 risk quietly means “we don’t trust bonds to diversify the same way.” The response shows up as higher “alternatives,” which can mean very different things (privates vs hedged strategies vs real assets). Succession is the real tail risk. Wealth is easier to compound than decision-making continuity across generations. The headline isn’t “family offices are bold.” It’s “family offices are built to survive.” https:// https://lnkd.in/eUgvXBW2 m-pb-aem/global/en/documents/2026-family-office-report/jp-morgan-private-bank-2026-global-family-office-report.pdf
