Mark Magnacca shared thisToo many sales conversations answer the wrong question. We spend time explaining features, products, capabilities, performance... when our audience is silently asking something much simpler: "So what?" Why does this matter to me? That question sits at the heart of every buying decision. The professionals who consistently build trust, create momentum, and inspire action are the ones who answer it quickly and clearly. It's also why Neil Wood and I wrote So What? To give sales professionals and advisors a practical framework for connecting what they offer to what their clients actually care about. On August 5 at 11:00 AM ET, we'll be hosting a live session where we'll explore how financial institutions can help advisors: ✔ Turn complex products into meaningful client outcomes ✔ Build stronger trust through more relevant conversations ✔ Differentiate themselves beyond products and performance ✔ Give every advisor a repeatable framework they can use immediately Whether you're in wealth management, asset management, retirement, insurance, or commercial banking, I think you'll leave with ideas you can put into practice straight away. Mark Magnacca shared thisIt's never crowded on the extra mile, but most people never find out, because they stop at "just enough." ⠀ Going the extra mile is one of our operating principles at Allego, and is literally written on the wall in front of me every day. I look at it while I'm on the phone, when I'm in a meeting, or when I write an email. The best people always go the extra mile, and the truth is that it is never crowded on the extra mile. ⠀ The number-one-rated restaurant in the world is Eleven Madison Park in New York City. The number one in the world! And what is it they actually do? Obviously, they have a menu, they serve food, and they have servers. These are the same things a lot of restaurants have. So you have to wonder, what is it they do differently? The answer is they go the extra mile. ⠀ Or think about the Ritz-Carlton. They think about who you are, they stock the right things in your room, and they anticipate needs you have before you've even brought them up. ⠀ Those are the things that create surprise and delight. ⠀ We go the extra mile, and this is the main reason our customers love Allego. ⠀ Most people are crowded together at "just enough," and "the extra mile" is empty, but that's exactly why it's the easiest place in the world to stand out.

Mark Magnacca shared thisMatthew Scott Fruithandler thanks for the shoutout for Shak. One of the biggest shifts I’ve seen over the past decade is executives recognizing that one of the most valuable commercial capabilities isn’t just having great people—it’s ensuring the entire team can consistently communicate what matters most to customers. Imagine if every customer interaction felt like it came from your top 20% performer, regardless of who showed up. That’s not an accident; it’s the result of building the capability to orchestrate consistent, high-quality customer conversations across the organization. Apple is a great example. Their stores don’t outperform because every employee is exceptional on day one. They outperform because they’ve built a system that enables almost anyone on the team to deliver the experience customers expect. That’s commercial capability in action. They create single source of truth for content, training & coaching and creating personalized buying experiences for the new age buyer. Weaving in AI to support along the way! Mark Magnacca shared this50% of professional selling will always remain human because we need humans to navigate political environments, understand the org chart, build personal relationships, and genuinely understand what matters to the customer. Everyone says AI will transform sales, and this is a true statement, but not in the way most people think. At our S3 conference this year, we had a room full of sales enablement leaders from financial services, life sciences, and capital equipment. Many of these people come from highly regulated industries, with complex products and long sales cycles. Everyone asked different versions of the same question: "Is AI going to replace all of us?" Let's use common sense and see things as they are. The idea that someone Vibe codes from the backseat of their car using Claude and sells enterprise software to JP Morgan, with all its regulatory hurdles and legal compliance, that's just not going to happen anytime soon. Professional selling is not like coding. In coding, AI can produce a 10X or 20X change, and we've seen it. But in selling, it's closer to 2X. 50% of professional selling will always be human because we need humans to understand what customers genuinely want, and no prompt can do that. The other 50%? That's where AI earns its place: - Preparation before a meeting - Follow-up - Research - Summarization - Call scripts - Update CRM notes - Analyze call recordings - Draft proposals Many companies make the mistake of choosing one of two extremes. Either they refuse to touch AI at all, or they believe it will handle everything and stop investing in the human side of selling. Both are wrong. The best sellers I know use AI to automate tasks that don't require a human touch, and invest the time they save in building real relationships with their customers. That's the right way to use AI in professional selling.

Mark Magnacca shared thisThe number 1 priority for some companies in the enablement space is to return profits to their investors, not to ensure customer success. Recently, I had a conversation with an executive at a leading financial services company. This company uses Allego and also uses one of our competitors for content. He told me, "I know your competitor is in the midst of merging. I just don't understand why. What's in it for them?" I told him exactly what it means. ⠀ This is not a case where 1 + 1 = 3. It's not a story about taking two companies, putting them together, and ending up with something much bigger and much better. This is a case of 1 - 1 = 0. Often, when two entities merge, they do so to cut costs and return capital to investors who put money into them. There's nothing in this transaction for the customer. Even Gartner said this transaction "raises risks" and recommends customers to "keep renewals to one year, demand price/opt-out protections, secure data egress, and diversify with AI-native vendors." That is because it is very hard to innovate when you integrate two companies at the same time. Talk to anyone who has been through a merger like this. Think about Daimler-Chrysler. How great was that going to be? Take the Mercedes design culture and mix it up with Chrysler in Detroit. It was a disaster. There are so many examples like that. On paper, it looks like a good concept, but it just doesn't work. ⠀ There's a reason Apple's design philosophy has pervaded so many things. Most people, including senior citizens around the world, can pick up an iPhone and use it because it just works. Compare that to buying a PC, trying to connect a third-party printer or device, and downloading drivers. I'm not saying it can't be done, but it's clunky, and most people don't want to deal with that. That's why native architecture is so important, and why we chose to build Allego organically from day one. Not all acquisitions are wrong. When a smaller company merges with a larger one, and the larger company absorbs the technology, people, and entrepreneurial approach to augment and grow, that's a good thing. But this merger in our space is between two companies that have roughly the same size, with 95% product overlap. That's not a product decision. That's a financial one, and the customer always pays for it. At Allego, we intend to remain in charge of our growth decisions, not forced to make decisions we don't want to make because of who is behind us financially. We have more repeat customers than any other company in our space, and we will continue to develop a culture of customer success. -- Link to the Gartner article: https://lnkd.in/gxJTi3gj

Mark Magnacca shared thisI've been an Apple fanboy since 1984. Many people on our team are too, so you can imagine we never wanted to build anything that felt like a Dell.⠀ When I was in the financial services business, long before I was in software, I got more and more involved in the Apple ecosystem. I didn't even understand what they meant by "walled garden." I just knew that things worked. I bought an iPod, an iPhone, and an iPad. I plugged them all in, and it worked. Then I looked at my experience with PCs along the way. I bought a Dell and a Sony MP3 player and then tried to connect them. It didn't work. Or it took so long to download the drivers that I just gave up because it was a mess. ⠀ Two different philosophies and two completely different experiences. One company controlled the hardware and the software, and everything was built to work together. The other one was a collection of parts from different manufacturers, stitched together in the hope of the best. ⠀ When my co-founder, Yuchun, and I started building Allego, we had a choice to make. We could grow fast by acquiring companies. Buy the content piece here, buy the coaching piece there, buy the LMS, the CRM integration, and the digital sales rooms. Stitch them all together, and call it a platform. Yuchun had done acquisitions before at his previous company. He knew exactly what that looked like from the inside and how hard it is to integrate all the pieces. So we decided to keep our architecture native-built to improve the end-user experience. ⠀ That decision was not easy. It took longer to build the platform, and it required the very best software engineers in the world. But today, Allego is a platform where everything works together, where a seller doesn't have to think about which tool does what, where an administrator learns one thing and knows how to apply it across every use case. ⠀ Just as in the United States, once you learn how to plug into a 120-volt outlet, you can do so anywhere in the country, once your team learns Allego, they know how to use it everywhere. That's the outcome you get when you build everything in-house, from the ground up, with a clear vision of what the end-user experience should feel like. ⠀ Most people don't want to deal with clunky technology. We built Allego for those people.

Mark Magnacca shared thisDavid, this is spot on. Yuchun Lee Erik Fowler Andre Black Deniz Olcay Mitchell Haber Neil Wood Ami Tully LotkaMark Magnacca shared thisWe bought 30 bottles of wine in Burgundy. All from wineries with one thing in common. Plus a lesson for B2B marketers and sellers. At each of the first five wineries, a knowledgeable sommelier walked us through the caves, explained the terroir, and educated us about the winery. And as we tasted the wines, they helped us identify the smell and tasting notes. We felt like educated, confident connoisseurs. As a result, we bought a half-case from each winery. The sixth winery pointed us to a self-guided kiosk. We wandered the caves alone. A teenager poured samples without a word of context. And we walked out empty-handed. Not because the wine was bad. Because we just didn’t feel confident based on our experience. Sound familiar? Gartner research found that the single biggest sales challenge is customers' confidence in themselves and their ability to make good buying decisions — not their confidence in the supplier or the product. Forrester found that deals where sellers helped structure the internal evaluation closed at 2.3x the rate of deals where sellers waited for buyers to define the process. After 20+ years closing complex enterprise deals, I've watched this play out hundreds of times. Your buyer is standing in that cave right now. They have information, but they don't have confidence. Your job is to give it to them. As a founder or revenue leader, ask yourself: 1️⃣ How does my buyer want to buy? 2️⃣ Am I giving them context, or just content? 3️⃣ Where do they want self-service vs prescriptive guidance? The first five sommeliers didn't just pour wine. They gave us the confidence to buy. Where in your sales process are you leaving buyers at the kiosk?

Annie Taber Erik Fowler Deniz Olcay Mitchell Haber Download your LinkedIn profile as a PDF, upload it to ChatGPT, and use the prompt below. Stop rebuilding your slide deck from scratch for every call—you only need one framework tailored to three core questions your prospect has. 1. For What? For what reason are you giving the presentation? 2. So What? Why is this important to my audience? 3. Now What? What do you want to have happen as a result of this presentation? Mark Magnacca liked thisThe CRO owns the entire customer experience, from the first touch to the customer who brings you the next one. ⠀ Think about the way sales and marketing usually operate. Marketers are overwhelmed by requests from sales. They do an enormous amount of work, and only a fraction of it ever gets used. When that happens, sales says marketing made the wrong content, and marketing says sales asked for the wrong thing. ⠀ So who owns that problem? ⠀ In most organizations, both marketers and sellers report to one person, the CRO. To some extent, this is a combined problem between sales and marketing, and that's exactly why it lands on the CRO. ⠀ But that is the small version of the story. ⠀ The CRO's real role is to provide a holistic, customer-facing view of the entire customer experience, from start to finish. The CRO must have answers to all of these questions: 1. How do I tap into my target market? 2. How do I prosecute the deals and win against the competition? 3. How do we achieve product-market fit and ensure the success a customer gets from our products and services? 4. How do I turn that successful customer into an advocate for the business? And then it comes full circle and produces more prospects. ⠀⠀ The CRO's job doesn't end when the deal closes or when the customer is successful. It ends when that customer becomes the reason you win the next one, and then it starts again. ⠀ A CRO who only owns sales owns a piece. But a CRO who owns the entire customer experience owns the circle, and the end of that circle is what feeds the beginning.

Mark Magnacca liked thisMark Magnacca liked thisMost sales reps spend hours perfecting their presentation slides, only to lose the deal in the first two minutes because they forgot this one critical rule. To close more deals, we need to communicate from the customer’s perspective. Rather than overwhelming prospects with product features and company information, successful sales reps learn to focus on what matters most: 1. customer’s needs 2. challenges and 3. desired outcomes. By continually asking, “So what does this mean to the customer?” they can turn ordinary presentations into relevant, compelling conversations that build trust, demonstrate value, and inspire action. ****This skill is invaluable because customers don’t buy presentations—they buy solutions to problems they care about. Follow this SO WHAT 3-Step Process to close more deals, faster! 1- For What 2- So What and 3- Now What

Mark Magnacca liked thisCustomers love Allego. The word "love" is so rarely used in a B2B context, but it keeps coming back to us, unsolicited. Every week, we receive emails from customers that say: "I love the person I worked with," or "I love that your team has gone above and beyond," or "When we compared the experience we had with Allego versus your competitors, it was night and day." This is the feedback we receive from our customers, and it's great validation that what we do is right. In every industry, there is one company that customers love. In the enablement industry, marked by a lot of disappointment, Allego has a unique ability to connect with our customers and help them solve their problems. This is not something we say. This is what Gartner, the Forrester Wave, and all the analysts who talk with all the vendors in the space validate. They have never heard a customer who hates us, but they can't say the same about our competitors. Even when teams are forced to stop using Allego, they still come back to us within 1 to 2 years. Sometimes, the entire selection team chooses Allego as their preferred partner, but somebody higher up overrides the decision. We're top 3, but we're not the biggest vendor in the market. Some of our competitors have spent upward of a billion dollars building their business. We chose a very different path, and as a result, some of our competitors are more well-known in the market. Being the biggest or the most well-known vendor in the market doesn't mean you're the best. And every time a customer is forced to leave us, we tell them the same thing: "When you hit the wall, we're here, we're not going anywhere." When customers understand all the facts, they'll make the right decision, because they know we've got their back. Our ability to connect with our customers, serve their needs, and have them become loyal, repeat customers, is at the heart of our differentiation and the centerpiece of our strategy.

Slowing deal velocity? It’s not just a pipeline issue, it’s a power issue. If your reps aren’t selling to decision-makers, they’re managing consensus instead of driving urgency. And urgency doesn’t come from product demos. It comes from quantifying business impact in terms that executives care about. That’s why the fastest deals aren’t the ones with the best decks… They’re the ones where value is clear and it’s sponsored at the top. What would change if your reps earned executive access by leading with insight, not intro requests?

Revenue Acceleration = Revenue Truth + Tactics that Scale In today’s selling environment, accelerating revenue isn’t about “selling harder.” It’s about selling smarter—and that starts with a Single Source of Revenue Truth (SSoRT). When you centralize revenue data across CRM, ERP, marketing, product, and support systems, you're no longer guessing. You're forecasting with confidence, predicting churn and salesperson flight risk, and aligning revenue-critical teams around shared KPIs But SSoRT is just the beginning. Here are a few tactics I shared during RevvedUP 2025 that can turbocharge your growth: ✅ Leading Indicators Over Lagging Quotas – Stop managing to the number. Start managing to momentum. ✅ Sales Squads – Align BDRs, AEs, Field Marketing & Customer Success around accounts to drive full-cycle revenue wins. ✅ Lookalike Segments – Turn your six-figure “outlier” accounts into repeatable wins with data-backed segmentation and lookalike strategies. ✅ Churn Flags – Know your 5 red flags and build automated alerts and trigger-to-action playbooks before revenue walks out the door. ✅ Pricing Power – If you’re collecting first-party data and not charging for it, you’re leaving money on the table. Monetize what you measure, package it intelligently, use AI to instill blended insights. Most importantly - charge a premium These are just a handful of strategies we covered, but here’s the bottom line: ➡️ You can’t accelerate what you can’t see. ➡️ You can’t align teams without truth. ➡️ And you won’t scale unless it’s all connected. The link to my Rapid Fire Session (10 minutes, 10 slides, 10 key takeaways) is below. https://lnkd.in/eWbe-wd3 #RevenueAcceleration #MediaGrowth #B2BEvents #RevenueLeadership #DataDrivenSelling #TheRevenueRoom #CXOAlignment #SSoRT

I’ve seen companies unlock a new revenue channel growth when they stop treating knowledge like internal overhead and start treating it like a product. Most organizations are sitting on expertise their customers would gladly pay to access, but they NEVER package it. 👉 If your customers are learning somewhere else, what opportunity are you leaving on the table?
