My volunteerism, beyond serving as a room monitor, gave me the unique opportunity successfully secured keynote speaker Harriet A. Washington, medical ethicist, recipient of the National Book Critics Circle Award, and author of Medical Apartheid: The Dark History of Medical Experimentation on Black Americans from Colonial Times to the Present, A Terrible Thing to Waste: Environmental Racism and Its Assault on the American Mind, and Carte Blanche: The Erosion of Medical Consent.

Additional volunteerism has allowed me to secure Multi GRAMMY Award nominee jazz vocalist, composer, actress, and playwright Nnenna Freelon. Nnenna has also launched a new podcast, "Great Grief." Show less
