U-wifi has secured a Mobile Virtual Network Operator (
#MVNO) agreement with T-Mobile to power its nationwide wireless broadband program.
This launch targets the affordability gap left by the expiration of the FCC Affordable Connectivity Program. That federal subsidy previously supported 23 million households before funding lapsed and left low-income families, students, and seniors facing disconnected essential services.
The operational model combines
T-Mobile network infrastructure with U-wifi technology.
U-wifi, Inc.fi deploys a fixed wireless access gateway that plugs into standard electrical outlets without professional installation. The hardware automatically connects to the strongest available carrier signal to deliver home and business internet.
To solve the pricing challenge without relying on expired subsidies, U-wifi introduced the FreeU platform. This ad-supported mobile application lets subscribers earn monthly service credits by voluntarily watching advertisements.
Active participation can reduce or entirely eliminate the monthly internet bill. The service also includes ProtectU, a built-in failover feature that provides backup connectivity.
Leadership from both companies framed the agreement around network reach and economic access.
Donald Workman, CEO at U-wifi, noted that connectivity functions as essential infrastructure rather than an optional utility.
Dirk Mosa, SVP, Spectrum, Wholesale and Roaming at T-Mobile, emphasized that the partnership maintains high performance standards while expanding market access for budget-conscious consumers.
The commercial rollout is scheduled for October 1, 2026. U-wifi will release full pricing structures, market availability maps, and eligibility criteria ahead of the launch date.
