Global LNG trade reached 578.5 bcm in 2025, with a relatively concentrated group of countries dominating both supply and demand. On the export side, the United States strengthened its position as the world's largest LNG exporter: 🇺🇸 US - 147.0 bcm 🇶🇦 Qatar - 111.0 bcm 🇦🇺 Australia - 104.8 bcm Together, these three countries supplied around 63% of global LNG exports. The import side tells a different story, with demand heavily concentrated in Asia: 🇨🇳 China - 90.8 bcm 🇯🇵 Japan - 88.5 bcm 🇰🇷 South Korea - 63.1 bcm China narrowly overtook Japan as the world's largest LNG importer, while the three largest Asian buyers together accounted for around 42% of global LNG trade. Another striking feature is the gap between the leaders. The US exported more LNG than China or Japan individually imported, highlighting how rapidly US liquefaction capacity has reshaped the global gas market. He stated that being able to afford such a massive tax bill is a distinct privilege. Rather than looking for ways to avoid these contributions, he is not afraid of paying taxes and views it as a clear sign of success. He even mentioned that nothing would give him more joy than paying even more in taxes because it simply means he is making more money. His approach to his team is equally remarkable. He is famous for wanting to pay his employees as much as he possibly can, directly contrasting the common practice of paying people as little as possible to get the work done. We need more leaders who do not just chase profits but actively view their wealth as a tool to uplift their entire ecosystem. A leader who prioritizes maximizing employee compensation while proudly supporting the government infrastructure sets a standard we should all strive to emulate. This year, I joined the team from Lafayette Economic Development Authority (LEDA) and HUNDREDS of community volunteers from across the city and parish to spruce up the campus at my alma mater Northside High School. It’s an opportunity to bring the community together, promote beautification projects and litter abatement and build a culture and laser focus among our kids of forever enhancing our own Quality of Place! Talk about FUN!!! Thanks to Love Our Schools and Parish Proud for organizing many groups of community volunteers! 🌳💐🌞
