Tanner Chatterley shared thisAnother Shoptalk fall in the books! This was the first year hosting our own Ecommerce Expert Network events so I really appreciate those that came out to support us. Grateful for our sponsors Alia, Pipe17, Cleverific, kim.cc, Privy, Playably, Vidovo and Awardco that made it all happen. We learned a thing or two about the boot, scoot, and boogie, connected on a more personal level and shared insights into how we're solving challenges for brands. I appreciate the support of our friends and customers from OrderProtection.com that came as well. Your business means everything to us. Excited to go back next year!

Tanner Chatterley shared thisWe grew up with something called "Family Night", where we would dedicate a night once a week to going and doing something fun as a family. This is what it looks like now. My wife and kids meet me at my office, then we hit up the nickel arcade and top it off with some Panda Express. It doesn't have to be a glamorous for your kids to appreciate.

Tanner Chatterley shared thisWhat is one thing that never changes regardless of how much more money you make? Mine is I will never stop thrifting with my wife and kids. One of the first businesses my wife and I started while we were in college was a resale business. She and I would go thrifting several times a week looking for vintage denim to resell on Etsy. It was a fun business and it helped pay for groceries and rent. But the lesson I learned from this is that you can own anything if you don't care who owned it first.

Tanner Chatterley shared thisWe partnered with Checkmate (who just dropped mate - hype launch) on their new ebook, The Action Gap. The book covers how much revenue ecom teams lose between knowing what to do and actually doing it. Our take: the tools that survive in a brand's stack aren't the ones that flag problems, they're the ones that finish them. We've watched shipping claims go from a two-week carrier chase to minutes, and CX teams stop needing dedicated staff for the problem entirely. Also in the book: Alia, Pipe17, Above the Fray, dtcmvp, League of Originals & ShipInsure. There's a 10-question scorecard at the end. Run it with your team before Q4 planning. Get it here: https://lnkd.in/gBYPkte7

Tanner Chatterley shared thisLast night we sponsored our first Smarterships event in Santa Monica! Adena Merabi and Sara Pereda definitely know how to fill a room. It was great to meet so many new members of the community and run into some familiar faces like Harry Dixon, Dan Kaparski, Steve Morales and Sarah Grosz. Brad Dey I see you everywhere so you don’t count. We’re doing dinners, line dancing and breakfast at Shoptalk fall in Nashville. Hit me up if you want to be apart of it.

Tanner Chatterley shared thisGrowing businesses, and trying to take a family vacation is pretty chaotic but that's what makes it so fun. This week while in CA; I have had 6 am calls everyday. Calls in our small hotel lobby, from our car on a hotspot in a beach parking lot, coffee shop, Barnes & Noble guest wifi in a mall, and now our Air BnB. Every situation one of my kids is either napping, eating, crying, watching a show, or falling down like it's their first time walking. That is actually the case for our 1 year old, but she gets a pass. To be honest, being on "vacation" stresses me out. It's why for the last 4 years of building OrderProtection.com we rarely ever left Utah. Weekend trips were our jam cause I could lock back in come Monday. The business just never felt like it was in a place where I felt like I could leave it, take one less call, or say no to an opportunity to move the biz forward. But I've made the commitment to take my kids to where Kenna and I grew up. Visit friends that feel like family and family they rarely get to see. And for me to feel impactful, still making the time spend time with former customers, prospective clients, and partners while juggling everything else.

Tanner Chatterley liked thisTanner Chatterley liked thisNike and Hyperice just launched their second product together. The follow-up tells you more than the first launch ever could. "Our partnership with Nike has always been driven by a shared commitment to innovation for the athlete. With the Nike Air Zoom Hyperslide, we're making premium recovery more accessible than ever, combining Nike's iconic footwear expertise with Hyperice technology to help people recover smarter with every step." — Anthony Katz, Founder, Hyperice. What Happened - Nike and Hyperice launched the Air Zoom Hyperslide, a $249 recovery slide, available September 29 at nike.com, hyperice.com, and select retailers - A magnetic Hyperice pod built into the strap delivers 3 heat settings (up to 117°F) and 3 vibration settings, in 15-minute recovery cycles - It's the second product from this partnership, following the Hyperboot, which launched to Olympians ahead of Paris 2024 and hit retail in 2025 The Bigger Picture A lot of brand collaborations are one-and-done. A limited drop, a press cycle, then nothing. This is the opposite. Nike and Hyperice built a second product on the same partnership, years after the first one worked. That's the real signal here. It's not the heat settings or the price point. It's that two companies looked at what worked once and decided to build on it instead of moving on to the next collab. The Partnerships Lens A first collaboration tells you two brands can work together. A second one tells you the partnership actually holds up once the cameras are gone. That's the distinction I care about most in alliances work. Anyone can announce a partnership. Very few make it worth doing twice. #partnerships #alliances #retail #innovation

Tanner Chatterley liked thisTanner Chatterley liked thisI was in line at the airport and watched a guy help a lady out that was having an issue with her order. I walked up to him after and asked him if anybody had ever told him he looked like Dean Graziosi. Sure enough it was him. One of my first sales jobs ever was selling one of Dean’s coaching packages. We’d sell $10,000-$25,000 packages over the phone. One call closes. I learned a lot about sales at that job. A few that stick out: 1. You gotta build the dream. You do that by understanding where they are now then compare that with where they want to be. 2. Shooters shoot. Take the chance. Make the call. Ask for the sale. Go for the opportunity. Don’t overthink it. 3. Your killers ain’t afraid to hunt. It’s one thing to close a lead given to you. It’s a different game when you can go build your own pipeline. Pretty cool seeing Dean in the wild being kind like that.

"Traffic to our site from AI search grew triple digits for the second consecutive quarter and continues to show the highest conversion rate of all site traffic," Millerchip said. Costco has never spent a dollar on digital advertising, and AI search-originated sales are led by appliances and consumer electronics, with Costco membership itself appearing among the top items originating from AI searches. "We don't do any paid digital advertising. AI presents an opportunity in a sort of neutral environment for us to be able to ensure that our value and our quality shows up transparently for our members," Millerchip said. Costco's technology teams are actively working with Gemini, Anthropic and OpenAI to keep product data accurate, and Millerchip noted the company's curated assortment and buyer-vetted quality give it an edge as AI is currently used more as a search tool than an agentic purchasing agent. Tanner Chatterley reacted on thisTanner Chatterley reacted on thisShe took over a money-losing chipmaker worth $2 billion and grew it to $1 trillion. She is the first woman to lead a trillion-dollar company. Meet Lisa Su, Chair and CEO of AMD. Lisa was born in Tainan, Taiwan, and moved to New York with her parents when she was 3. Her father was a statistician who quizzed her on multiplication tables when she was 7, and her mother was an accountant who later started her own business. When she was 10, she started taking apart her brother's remote control cars because she wanted to know why they stopped working. She stayed curious about how things worked all through school. After graduating from the Bronx High School of Science, she earned her bachelor's, master's, and PhD in electrical engineering from MIT. She then spent nearly 20 years working on semiconductors at Texas Instruments, IBM, and Freescale. When she joined AMD in 2012, the company had been losing money for years and a lot of people on Wall Street had given up on it. One of her first big moves was getting AMD chips into the Xbox One and PlayStation 4, which helped the company grow beyond PCs. She became CEO in 2014, and on her first day, AMD stock was worth about $3 a share. She decided to put the company's future on a new chip design called Zen, even though it would take years to pay off. In 2017, AMD launched its Ryzen and EPYC chips, and they started winning customers away from Intel. Over the past few years, she has moved AMD deep into AI, signing major chip deals with OpenAI and Meta. In the second quarter of 2026, AMD's revenue grew 50% to $11.5 billion. On September 21, 2026, AMD crossed $1 trillion in market value, which made it the first woman-led company to ever reach that number. When someone asked her how it felt, she said, "It was a pretty darn good moment." This week, AMD also agreed to buy World Labs for $8.2 billion, and AI pioneer Fei-Fei Li will join the company as its chief scientist. If you had bought AMD stock on her first day as CEO, you would be up more than 18,000% today. Still, most people can name Jensen Huang before they can name her. Tanner Chatterley reacted on thisTanner Chatterley reacted on this36 hours in Nashville, crushed 🎸 In late Tuesday, we rode at dawn Thursday. First time in Music City, and Shoptalk made sure I felt it. Tuesday: straight off the plane to JBJ’s rooftop. Missed the line dancing (maybe for the better, not that coordinated) but solid kickoff to the trip with a great crew on Broadway. Wednesday: coffee meetings, lunch at Rivière Rooftop at the Four Seasons, and Marketing After Hours at Harriet’s Rooftop with ATTN Agency, Klaviyo, and OuterSignal. Shoutout Miranda Mattson, Reagan Berry, and Hannah Wendt for pulling the entire thing together. Thursday: two early morning meetings, then a run for the airport. Every gap was filled with a catch-up with an old friend or client, and it was great. Biggest takeaway: brand operators are hungry. Not “let’s see what’s out there” curious. Actually ready to test new tech and move fast. That energy was in every conversation. Lukewarm take: Shoptalk Nashville > Shoptalk Chicago. The irony? I still had to go through Chicago twice to get there. And an hour long delay on the way home with a full sprint through O’Hare almost made me reminisce the days ORD was my final destination. Worth every step, PostPilot will see you next year, Nashville 🤠

AEs are trained to run better discovery. Go deeper. Uncover pain. Map stakeholders. Document everything. And when you do all of that well, the call feels productive. You learned a lot. The buyer shared openly. The conversation flowed. But the best discovery calls don’t just gather information. They change how the buyer sees their situation. Not by skipping fundamentals. By connecting them. Pain gets quantified in real terms. Stakeholders get tied to actual risk. Priorities get compared against what’s at stake. Next steps become a consequence — not a suggestion. That’s when something shifts. The problem feels more real. The cost of inaction becomes clearer. The path forward starts to take shape. That’s what moves deals. Not just asking better questions. But helping the buyer leave with a clearer point of view than when they walked in. #B2BSales #SalesLeadership #RevenueOperations #SalesExecution #SalesStrategy #SalesCaddyAI

3 SDR metrics your dashboard tracks that don't predict a single closed deal. Sales leaders love a full activity dashboard. Investors love a full pipeline report. Neither one tells you if the SDR motion is actually working. After building and running outbound infrastructure across venture capital, private equity, and B2B teams, here's what the dashboards usually get wrong: 1) Activity volume over connect quality Dials and emails sent measure effort, not outcome. What predicts pipeline is the connect rate with verified, ICP-fit decision-makers — not the number of names dialed. 2) Meetings booked over meetings held and qualified A booked meeting that no-shows or turns out to be the wrong buyer is a vanity metric. Show rate and ICP fit on booked meetings matter more than the raw count. 3) Reply rate over reply-to-opportunity rate A high reply rate means little if those replies stall out. Track how many actually turn into a next step, not just how many people wrote back. The SDRs usually aren't underperforming. The scoreboard is just measuring the wrong things. 👇 Which SDR metric does your team lean on most — and has it held up against your actual close rate? #B2BSales #SDR #SalesDevelopment #VentureCapital #OutreachOps

Most founders calculate SDR ROI based on salary alone. They miss the hidden "burn multiplier." When you factor in tool stacks, data costs, management overhead, and the ramp curve, a $60k hire actually costs the business ~$105k before generating a single dollar of qualified pipeline. The math breaks because the Breakeven Horizon (Month 7) is dangerously close to the average Attrition Point (Month 11-14). If you don't own the infrastructure, you lose the asset when the person leaves. Here is the unit economics reality check most projections miss. Swipe through → #Sales2Code #SDR #FounderLedSales

Your next great ABM idea probably isn’t hiding in a brainstorm doc. Really, it’s sitting in your inbox. 📬 The best insights come straight from buyers. Set up a shared Slack or Teams channel with Sales, CS, and Support, and drop in every real question, objection, and request you hear. By doing so, you can stop guessing what buyers want to hear and start listening to what they’re already telling you.

Paying a sales VA just to keep them busy for 8 hours is an expensive babysitting service. 100 dials and clean notes mean nothing if nobody is buying. Stop paying for activity and start tracking what actually drives revenue. Read the full breakdown on fixing your outbound sales metrics 👇 https://lnkd.in/ePTx_4nB

The Pipeline Lie: Most revenue leaders don’t have a pipeline problem. They have a conversion honesty problem. Your dashboard says: ✔ Pipeline coverage 3.2x ✔ SDR activity up ✔ Meetings booked Your close rate says: 😬 Volume hides weakness. Precision exposes it. We’ve been there. Nothing humbles you faster than explaining “strong activity” to a board that only cares about revenue. More activity won’t fix a misaligned revenue engine. It just creates prettier charts.

Most SaaS companies ask you to book a call to talk to sales. It makes sense. A scheduled demo gives reps time to qualify the prospect, understand the problem, and walk through the product. But it also creates a bottleneck. A lot of inbound prospects don’t want to commit to a 30-minute call right away. They just have a quick question and want an answer now. So our sales team tried something different. Instead of forcing everyone into the same path, we give prospects the option to start with a text conversation. The impact surprised us: → 35% more form submissions → 105% more leads we actually spoke to → 2x more closed won opportunities In the article, Melissa Bates and the team share how they set this up behind the scenes using Quo, Salesforce, Zapier, and our API, and how they keep response times to a two-minute median even with hundreds of inbound leads each week. If you’re thinking about adding texting to your sales process, we break down exactly how it works: https://lnkd.in/grz4A4Ac

“Most SDR burnout isn’t mental. It’s mechanical.” SDRs don’t burn out from selling, they burn out from everything they have to do before they get to sell. Manually finding leads. Manually enriching. Manually guessing ICP fit. Manually writing hooks. Manually chasing replies across tools. By the time they talk to a buyer, 80% of their energy is already gone. And then we blame the rep for “not enough meetings.” The problem isn’t effort. The problem is infrastructure. Teams that win protect SDRs with systems, not pep talks: 🔹 ICP scoring 🔹 Timing signals 🔹 Auto-personalized hooks 🔹 End-to-end workflows Remove the mechanical work → SDRs thrive. Fix the system → pipeline grows. Burnout doesn’t come from outreach. It comes from doing outreach the hard way. Agency Focus XYZ

RevOps isn't a SaaS problem. It's every agency's problem — you just call it something else. Companies where sales, delivery, and account management work off the same information grow revenue 11% a year. Companies where they don't? Under 1%. That gap isn't about strategy or talent. It's about whether the context from the sales call actually survives the handoff — or whether it lives in an email thread, a Slack DM, or the founder's head. If delivery finds out what was promised on the kickoff call instead of before it, you don't have an onboarding problem. You have a RevOps problem with a nicer name. We broke down three quick tests that show exactly where your agency is leaking revenue — and why the fix isn't more software:
