Monica Marquez shared this🚨 𝗪𝗘 𝗚𝗢 𝗟𝗜𝗩𝗘 𝗜𝗡 𝗟𝗘𝗦𝗦 𝗧𝗛𝗔𝗡 𝟮𝟰 𝗛𝗢𝗨𝗥𝗦. When Nikki Barua and I hosted the first FlipWork AI Reinvention Masterclass last week, 200+ women registered in 24 hours. The energy in the room was unlike anything I have experienced in years. Women from Fortune 500 companies, fast-growing startups, and everything in between, all in the same room, taking the same diagnostic assessment, and seeing the hard data about where they stand in the AI era. The results were eye-opening. The questions they asked confirmed exactly what we've been warning about: the gap between basic AI use and genuine agentic leadership is widening fast. Here are 3 clear patterns that emerged from our 𝗙𝗹𝗶𝗽𝗙𝗮𝗰𝘁𝗼𝗿™ 𝗗𝗶𝗮𝗴𝗻𝗼𝘀𝘁𝗶𝗰: 👉🏼 𝗧𝗵𝗲 𝗣𝗲𝗿𝗺𝗶𝘀𝘀𝗶𝗼𝗻 𝗣𝗿𝗼𝗯𝗹𝗲𝗺 The biggest gap wasn't in skills or access. It was the deeply ingrained idea that women need a green light to claim this space. Too many are waiting for permission to experiment publicly, to get it wrong in front of their teams, and to call themselves "AI-forward leaders" before feeling 100% ready. 👉🏼 𝗧𝗵𝗲 𝗣𝗲𝗿𝗰𝗲𝗽𝘁𝗶𝗼𝗻 𝗣𝗲𝗻𝗮𝗹𝘁𝘆 Women face a trap that men simply don't: stay away from AI and fall behind, or use AI and risk being judged as taking shortcuts. Most women are navigating this double standard completely alone. 👉🏼 𝗧𝗵𝗲 𝗣𝗹𝗮𝘆𝗯𝗼𝗼𝗸 𝗩𝗼𝗶𝗱 The women in that room weren't short on intelligence, ambition, or work ethic. What they lacked was a structured, personalized path. They have the drive, but the step-by-step playbook to get from where they are to where they need to be is missing. The demand from our first masterclass made one thing clear: women are ready for this. The energy in the room full of women leaders was electric. That is the undeniable power of community in action, and you don't want to miss it. THAT'S WHY ON MARCH 27TH, WE ARE HOSTING A FREE, LIVE 𝙀𝙉𝘾𝙊𝙍𝙀 MASTERCLASS TO SHOW YOU EXACTLY HOW TO STEP INTO THIS NEW ERA. 𝗧𝗵𝗲 𝗔𝗜 𝗥𝗲𝗶𝗻𝘃𝗲𝗻𝘁𝗶𝗼𝗻 𝗠𝗮𝘀𝘁𝗲𝗿𝗰𝗹𝗮𝘀𝘀 𝗳𝗼𝗿 𝗪𝗼𝗺𝗲𝗻 𝗶𝗻 𝗟𝗲𝗮𝗱𝗲𝗿𝘀𝗵𝗶𝗽: 👉🏼 Discover your FlipFactor™ and benchmark your AI readiness against peers 👉🏼 Move through the reinvention blockers unique to high-achieving women 👉🏼 See what working agentically looks like with workflows, agents, and tools We built this space because every other AI program we attended had the same blind spot: none of them were built specifically for women. So, we built the room that didn't exist. ⏳ 𝘛𝘩𝘦 𝘤𝘭𝘰𝘤𝘬 𝘪𝘴 𝘵𝘪𝘤𝘬𝘪𝘯𝘨. If you missed the last event, this is your moment. Monica Marquez shared this200+ women leaders registered for FlipWork's AI Reinvention Masterclass in just 24 hours. That massive response validated what our research had already shown: women in leadership are feeling the intense urgency of this AI shift, and most are trying to navigate it completely on their own. The data is sobering. 𝘞𝘰𝘮𝘦𝘯 𝘧𝘢𝘤𝘦 𝘯𝘦𝘢𝘳𝘭𝘺 𝘵𝘸𝘪𝘤𝘦 𝘵𝘩𝘦 𝘥𝘪𝘴𝘳𝘶𝘱𝘵𝘪𝘰𝘯 𝘳𝘪𝘴𝘬 𝘪𝘯 𝘵𝘩𝘦𝘪𝘳 𝘳𝘰𝘭𝘦𝘴 𝘤𝘰𝘮𝘱𝘢𝘳𝘦𝘥 𝘵𝘰 𝘮𝘦𝘯, 𝘺𝘦𝘵 𝘢𝘳𝘦 𝘢𝘥𝘰𝘱𝘵𝘪𝘯𝘨 𝘈𝘐 𝘵𝘰𝘰𝘭𝘴 𝘢𝘵 𝘢 25% 𝘭𝘰𝘸𝘦𝘳 𝘳𝘢𝘵𝘦. Every single week of delayed adoption widens the divide that already exists. But the real issue runs deeper than adoption rates. There is a career-defining gap between basic AI use and becoming an agentic leader: someone who orchestrates workflows, deploys AI agents, and uses AI as a massive force multiplier for their uniquely human skills. More credentials will not close this gap. Agentic leadership will. Women’s History Month exists to honor the women who refused to accept the world as it was and built the future they deserved. This moment demands the exact same courage, and the stakes are just as high. The demand from our first masterclass made one thing clear: 𝙬𝙤𝙢𝙚𝙣 𝙖𝙧𝙚 𝙧𝙚𝙖𝙙𝙮 𝙛𝙤𝙧 𝙩𝙝𝙞𝙨. The energy in the room full of women leaders was electric. That is the undeniable power of community in action, and you don't want to miss it. Monica Marquez shared thisAnthropic just published a labor market report that every woman in leadership needs to read. I've been warning about this, and now we have the data. The workers MOST EXPOSED TO AI DISPLACEMENT are 16% more likely to be 𝙛𝙚𝙢𝙖𝙡𝙚, 𝙗𝙚𝙩𝙩𝙚𝙧 𝙚𝙙𝙪𝙘𝙖𝙩𝙚𝙙, 𝙖𝙣𝙙 𝙝𝙞𝙜𝙝𝙚𝙧 𝙥𝙖𝙞𝙙. AI is impacting white-collar jobs, and women are disproportionately in the crosshairs. But exposure is only half the equation; the other half is adoption. Women are adopting AI tools at a 𝟮𝟱% 𝗹𝗼𝘄𝗲𝗿 𝗿𝗮𝘁𝗲 than men, even when access is equal. And that gap compounds fast. Women already face a pay gap, earning less than men. AI skills are already commanding salary premiums. EVERY WEEK OF DELAYED ADOPTION WIDENS THE DISADVANTAGE ON BOTH FRONTS SIMULTANEOUSLY. But the real issue runs deeper than adoption rates. There is a meaningful and career-defining difference between prompting ChatGPT and operating as an agentic-human leader: one who orchestrates workflows, deploys agents, and uses AI as a force multiplier for the innately human traits. Credentials and confidence will not close this gap. Becoming an agentic-human leader will. Women's History Month exists to honor the women who refused to accept the world as it was and built the future they deserved. This moment asks for exactly the same courage, and the stakes are just as high. On March 20th, my FlipWork co-founder Nikki Barua and I are hosting a free live masterclass to show you exactly how. Monica Marquez shared thisThis International Women’s Day, I am bringing a hard truth to the forefront: 𝗪𝗲 𝗮𝗿𝗲 𝘁𝗿𝗮𝗶𝗻𝗶𝗻𝗴 𝗔𝗜 𝗼𝗻 𝗱𝗲𝗰𝗮𝗱𝗲𝘀 𝗼𝗳 𝗴𝗲𝗻𝗱𝗲𝗿 𝗯𝗶𝗮𝘀 𝗮𝗻𝗱 𝗰𝗮𝗹𝗹𝗶𝗻𝗴 𝗶𝘁 𝗽𝗿𝗼𝗴𝗿𝗲𝘀𝘀. Those of you who have followed my journey know the phrase that followed me from West Texas into the boardroom: "𝘊𝘢𝘭𝘭𝘢𝘥𝘪𝘵𝘢 𝘵𝘦 𝘷𝘦𝘴 𝘮𝘢́𝘴 𝘣𝘰𝘯𝘪𝘵𝘢." (You look prettier when you’re quiet.) I spent decades unlearning that silence. But as we celebrate #IWD2026, we have to face the fact that the same cultural conditioning is being coded into the algorithms that decide who gets hired and who gets heard. We cannot afford to stay quiet while the "Permission Gap" widens. The data is alarming and demands action: • 𝗧𝗵𝗲 𝗗𝗶𝘀𝗽𝗹𝗮𝗰𝗲𝗺𝗲𝗻𝘁 𝗠𝗮𝗽: New research from Anthropic reveals an alarming visual: the industries seeing the highest AI displacement—such as customer service, administrative support, and document processing—are overwhelmingly female-dominated. • 𝗖𝗼𝗱𝗲𝗱 𝗙𝗿𝗮𝗴𝗶𝗹𝗶𝘁𝘆: AI labels young women as "fragile" in 56% of cases and is 6 times more likely to tell them to seek external validation compared to men. • 𝗧𝗵𝗲 𝗔𝘂𝘁𝗼𝗺𝗮𝘁𝗶𝗼𝗻 𝗧𝗮𝗿𝗴𝗲𝘁: 29% of female-dominated occupations are exposed to AI automation, versus just 16% for men. • 𝗧𝗵𝗲 𝗚𝘂𝗶𝗱𝗮𝗻𝗰𝗲 𝗚𝗮𝗽: AI redirects women 75% more toward health and social sciences while guiding men toward engineering. TODAY, I AM CALLING ON EVERY WOMAN LEADER TO MOVE FROM "CALLADITA" TO JEFA-LEVEL LOGIC. In this week's edition of ¡Ay, Ay, Ay, AI! Newsletter, I’m sharing the framework we need to take the lead: ✅ Rewrite the Code: Understand how you literally train AI every time you correct its bias or fact-check its output. ✅ Poderosa Precision: Use AI to audit your language and transform "hedging" into executive authority. ✅ The Jefa Toolkit: Meet the niche tools like Granola and Yoodli AI Roleplays that end "office housework" and help you rehearse high-stakes wins. The dichos that held us back were learned. The algorithms amplifying them were trained. This International Women's Day, let's decide that both can be rewritten. Take action and read the full edition here: https://lnkd.in/gq3Zpnse 👇🏽 #InternationalWomensDay #LatinasInTech #JefaLevelLogic #AIBias #WomensHistoryMonth #PoderosaPrecisionAI Bias & Latinas: Rewriting the Code with Jefa-Level LogicAI Bias & Latinas: Rewriting the Code with Jefa-Level Logic

Monica Marquez shared this𝗩𝗮𝗹𝗲𝗻𝘁𝗶𝗻𝗮 𝗧𝗲𝗿𝗲𝘀𝗵𝗸𝗼𝘃𝗮 was born on this day in 1937. She became the first woman in space because she refused to wait for permission to enter a male-dominated frontier. She completed 125 parachute jumps before being accepted into the Soviet space program. Traditional credentials? She didn't have them. 𝙎𝙤 𝙨𝙝𝙚 𝙗𝙪𝙞𝙡𝙩 𝙝𝙚𝙧 𝙤𝙬𝙣. Yesterday, Entravision US Media announced that it appointed 𝗟𝗲𝗮𝗔𝗻𝗻𝗮 𝗛𝗲𝗿𝗻𝗮𝗻𝗱𝗲𝘇 as its Executive Vice President of AI Strategy. Pioneers don't wait for invitations. They claim seats at tables being built. AI IS TODAY'S FRONTIER. AND LATINOS ARE POSITIONED TO ARCHITECT IT. The U.S. Latino GDP stands at $3.2 trillion (source: UnidosUS 2026 Economic Prosperity Agenda). That same UnidosUS (@WeAreUnidosUS) agenda explicitly names AI LITERACY AS A KEY TO EXPANDING ECONOMIC PROSPERITY for Latino families. Yet too many of us are still waiting for someone to "include" us in the AI conversation. So let me challenge that mindset. 💪🏽 𝑨 𝑫𝒊𝒐𝒔 𝒓𝒐𝒈𝒂𝒏𝒅𝒐 𝒚 𝒄𝒐𝒏 𝒆𝒍 𝒎𝒂𝒛𝒐 𝒅𝒂𝒏𝒅𝒐. Here's what shifting from celebration to strategy actually looks like: 👉🏽 Partnering with AI experts to create AI fluency programming for your members 👉🏽 Creating visibility for Latino technologists already doing agentic work inside your organization 👉🏽 Positioning ERG members as internal consultants on inclusive AI design And yes, you can still have your potlucks and salsa nights!💃🏻 It's not this or that. IT'S THIS AND THAT. Sprinkle it with Latino cultural flair. 🪅🌮 But prioritize building the pipelines. And for individual Latino professionals: Stop asking "Do I have permission to engage with AI?" YOU are the pioneer. Claim the space. Perfect AI training doesn't exist yet. So start building fluency today. Become the expert your organization needs. The frontier is being built right now. Will you claim your space, or keep waiting for an invitation? #AIReadiness #LatinoLeaders

Monica Marquez shared thisMost leaders don’t have an AI problem. They have a work slop problem. A few months ago, I joined the Beginner's Guide to AI with Dietmar Fischer to talk about something I see every week inside companies rushing to “do AI” at work. They add tools. They automate faster. And somehow the output gets worse. In this conversation, we dug into why that happens and what to do instead. My core belief is simple: AI adoption doesn’t start with tools. It starts with identity. If you still see AI as a shiny gadget or an “artificial intern,” you’ll just automate the old mess. That’s how work slop spreads. The shift that actually works looks more like this: “I experiment with AI every day.” Not perfectly. Not at scale. Just consistently. One story I shared was about leaders who roll out AI top-down, then wonder why teams don’t use it. The missing piece isn’t training. It’s psychological safety. If people don’t feel safe to try, fail, and iterate in public, AI stays theoretical. That’s why I’m a fan of the one-workflow-per-month rule. Redesign a single workflow. Layer AI intentionally. Measure time saved and quality gained. Then move on. Right now, leaders are under pressure to show AI ROI fast. The irony is that slowing down to redesign work is what creates real speed. We talked about AI as a partner, not a tool. About killing work slop by layering your context. And about using AI for five-dollar tasks so humans can focus on five-thousand-dollar judgment. If you’re navigating AI adoption and feeling that tension between hype and reality, this episode might feel like a mirror. Here’s the conversation if you want to listen: https://lnkd.in/gtKdQkAv Are you experimenting at the workflow level, or still evaluating tools? 💭 #AIatWork #Leadership #FutureOfWork #HumanCenteredAIThe Work Slop Epidemic: Monica Marquez Explains How to Fix AI at WorkThe Work Slop Epidemic: Monica Marquez Explains How to Fix AI at Work

Monica Marquez shared thisNext week, we’re having an important conversation about AI — and I hope you’ll join us. AI is moving fast. Boards are asking questions. Investors expect results. Teams are feeling the pressure. But tools alone don’t create transformation. In this free webinar, we’ll dig into what leaders really need to consider right now: 🔷 Where AI should be applied to drive measurable business impact 🔷 How to align adoption with board and executive expectations 🔷 Whether your culture is evolving at the pace of your AI investments I’ll be joined by Hector Perez, CEO of Quantum FBI, and Jolene Bredenkamp, VP of Finance at Quantum FBI, for a candid discussion on how organizations are maximizing the value of their AI investments without losing their people in the process. 📅 March 3, 2026 ⏰ 11:00 AM – 12:00 PM EST 🎟️ Free to attend If you’re leading teams through AI adoption, this conversation will give you practical perspective, not hype. 👉 Save your spot here: https://lnkd.in/gnHTcz95 #AILeadership #FutureOfWork #DigitalTransformation #ExecutiveLeadership #AIinBusiness #FlipWork

Monica Marquez shared thisIn my senior year of college, a mentor asked me one question that changed everything. "Why do you want to be a doctor?" I had no answer. Growing up in West Texas, my definition of success was defined by my exposure. The people I saw thriving around me were doctors, lawyers, and chemical engineers working in the oil fields. That was it. That was the entire frame. So I did what made sense inside that frame. I became a pre-med student, pursuing a biology degree and minoring in organic chemistry, convinced that medical school was the only logical next step. I WAS FOLLOWING MY EXPOSURE, NOT MY PASSION. It took one question from one mentor in my senior year to crack everything open. I pivoted, pursued a master's degree in something that actually lit me up, and never looked back. Today, I see the same thing happening with AI. Students are being told to abandon what they are building because the headlines are loud. Parents are panicking. And my Primos and Primas (my cousins) are reaching out to ask what their kids should do in college. Should they change their major? Drop out and just learn AI instead? So, in my last newsletter, I wrote about what I wish someone had shared with my family back then. It is for every student wondering if their major still matters. Every parent who is trying to give the right advice. And every professional who remembers what it felt like to not know which direction to go. 𝘌𝘭 𝘲𝘶𝘦 𝘢𝘥𝘦𝘭𝘢𝘯𝘵𝘦 𝘯𝘰 𝘮𝘪𝘳𝘢, 𝘢𝘵𝘳𝘢́𝘴 𝘴𝘦 𝘲𝘶𝘦𝘥𝘢. Monica Marquez posted this🍹 𝗙𝗲𝗯𝗿𝘂𝗮𝗿𝘆 𝟮𝟮𝗻𝗱 𝗶𝘀 𝗡𝗮𝘁𝗶𝗼𝗻𝗮𝗹 𝗠𝗮𝗿𝗴𝗮𝗿𝗶𝘁𝗮 𝗗𝗮𝘆. And there's a recipe here worth stealing for your AI strategy. So many companies are buying tequila and wondering why they don't have a margarita. A perfect margarita requires tequila, lime juice, triple sec, and a salted rim. Skip any one ingredient, and you end up with something unbalanced, too harsh, or forgettable. According to Boston Consulting Group (BCG)'s 2024 research, nearly 74% of organizations struggle to scale AI beyond pilot programs. They poured millions into the tools. They skipped everything else. 𝐇𝐞𝐫𝐞'𝐬 𝐰𝐡𝐚𝐭 𝐈 𝐜𝐚𝐥𝐥 𝐭𝐡𝐞 𝐌𝐚𝐫𝐠𝐚𝐫𝐢𝐭𝐚 𝐅𝐫𝐚𝐦𝐞𝐰𝐨𝐫𝐤: 🥃 𝐓𝐞𝐪𝐮𝐢𝐥𝐚 = 𝐀𝐈 𝐌𝐨𝐝𝐞𝐥𝐬 The raw power. Potent and essential. But drink tequila straight, and you've got a rough shot, not a cocktail worth savoring. 🍋 𝐋𝐢𝐦𝐞 𝐉𝐮𝐢𝐜𝐞 = 𝐇𝐮𝐦𝐚𝐧 𝐃𝐢𝐬𝐜𝐞𝐫𝐧𝐦𝐞𝐧𝐭 Strategic judgment. The ability to say "that output is hallucinated" or "this recommendation is biased." This is 𝗔𝗴𝗲𝗻𝘁𝗶𝗰-𝗛𝘂𝗺𝗮𝗻 𝗥𝗲𝗶𝗻𝘃𝗲𝗻𝘁𝗶𝗼𝗻™ in action: humans handle judgment and relationships while AI handles structure and analysis. Skip this, and your strategy becomes bland at best, dangerous at worst. 🍯 𝐓𝐫𝐢𝐩𝐥𝐞 𝐒𝐞𝐜 = 𝐂𝐮𝐥𝐭𝐮𝐫𝐞 & 𝐂𝐡𝐚𝐧𝐠𝐞 𝐌𝐚𝐧𝐚𝐠𝐞𝐦𝐞𝐧𝐭 Addressing the IDENTITY BOTTLENECK: the fear that "if AI does my work, what's my value?" Creating psychological safety and ensuring inclusive design. This is the cultural work that makes powerful AI and sharp human judgment actually work together. Leave this out, and employees resist, tools sit unused, and adoption flatlines. 🧂 𝐒𝐚𝐥𝐭𝐞𝐝 𝐑𝐢𝐦 = 𝐓𝐡𝐞 𝐂𝐨𝐦𝐩𝐞𝐭𝐢𝐭𝐢𝐯𝐞 𝐄𝐝𝐠𝐞 People² (exponentially capable individuals and teams). Faster time-to-market, higher-quality output, and retention of top talent who feel empowered, not replaced. Miss this ingredient, and you can't prove ROI or sustain executive support. We bought the tech. We forgot the people. Pour all four in the right proportions, and you have something that actually works. ¡SALUD! (As we say in my familia, when something is worth celebrating.) 🥂 𝘞𝘩𝘪𝘤𝘩 𝘪𝘯𝘨𝘳𝘦𝘥𝘪𝘦𝘯𝘵 𝘪𝘴 𝘺𝘰𝘶𝘳 𝘰𝘳𝘨𝘢𝘯𝘪𝘻𝘢𝘵𝘪𝘰𝘯 𝘮𝘪𝘴𝘴𝘪𝘯𝘨? ♻️ Share this post with a leader who's pouring budget into AI tools without the culture work. 🔔 Follow me here on LinkedIn. 📩 I bust more myths and share solutions in my ¡Ay, Ay, Ay, AI! Monica Marquez reacted on thisMonica Marquez reacted on thisWe consistently overestimate what we can do in a single year, but we chronically underestimate what we can build in a decade. As Women’s History Month comes to a close, I’m reflecting on the profound power of the long game. In a world obsessed with quarterly returns and viral moments, there is something revolutionary about staying committed to a mission greater than yourself. I started my career over 25 years ago. I had no map and no manual, just a burning desire to create impact at scale and the stubborn belief that the challenges worth solving were worth a lifetime of effort. My mission has always been to close the divide. What has evolved is the HOW. In an earlier chapter, closing the divide meant focusing on the individual: unlocking the potential of women through my book, my podcast, and my leadership platform. That work changed me as much as it changed thousands of women globally. But as the world accelerated, the challenge became systemic. We are now living in the Exponential Divide: the widening gap between the lightning speed of AI advancement and the human pace of change. The old playbooks no longer work. The old definitions of leadership no longer hold. And the cost of waiting to figure it out is compounding every single week. That is why Monica Marquez and I founded FlipWork, as a definitive response to the most pressing challenge facing the modern workforce. We transform organizations into agentic enterprises where every person is exponentially capable in the AI age. But playing the long game means staying obsessed with the signals in the noise. In 2026, women face nearly twice the job disruption risk of their peers, yet AI adoption among women continues to lag significantly. The divide I have spent a decade trying to close was opening again, faster and wider than before, in a new form. So we did what we have always done. We went back to the data, back to the mission, and back to work. Two weeks ago, we announced FlipWork's first AI Reinvention Masterclass for Women Leaders to address this head-on. The response was staggering: 300+ women registered within days. It proved yet again that when the world changes, don't wait for a seat at the table. Build a new room. As we close this month, here is what the long game has taught me: 👉🏼 Progress isn't a straight line. It’s a compounding force that rewards those who refuse to leave the arena. 👉🏼 If a mission matters to you, don’t let the slow progress of a single year discourage you from the vision of a decade. 👉🏼 The most profound transformations don't happen in the sprints, but in the miles between them. Ten years from now, you will either be grateful you started or wish you had. The next decade starts tomorrow. How will you define yours? #WomensHistoryMonth #FutureOfWork #AI #Leadership

Monica Marquez reacted on thisMonica Marquez reacted on thisJust "graduated" from Dr Philippa Hardman's AI & Learning Design Bootcamp – four weeks of building, breaking, and rebuilding AI tools for instructional design. The biggest shift for me was not speed. Most L&D teams use AI to draft faster. That may just be accelerating the production of mediocre content. What changed was how I think about production systems. The FRAME™️ methodology forced a discipline I had not applied consistently enough: ground every prompt in research evidence before writing a single rule. Test outputs against rubrics, not gut feel. Red-team the result before it goes near a learner. Three things (among many) that will stick with me: – Structure beats instruction. Specific archetypes and sequenced rules produce better outputs than open-ended commands. – AI hides laziness behind polished formatting. Chain-of-thought prompting is a reliable way to expose it. – Scaling is an architecture problem, not a prompting problem. Thank you to Dr Philippa Hardman and my coursemates for four weeks of engaging, practical, no-fluff learning 😊 #AILearningDesign #FRAME #CorporateTraining #InstructionalDesign

Much of what slows organizations down right now isn’t a lack of strategy. It’s how leaders interpret and respond to what’s happening around them. In moments of uncertainty, decisions feel heavier, conversations tighten, and small misunderstandings can quickly turn into friction. In this episode of HR Superstars, Karina Young spoke with David Hassell, CEO of 15Five, about what leaders and HR teams are navigating in this moment and why awareness has become a critical leadership practice. “If ever there was a moment where we could lean into the fact that teaching and learning are inextricably linked, it’s now.” ~ Laura Dorsey-Elson, Morgan State University This quote from the AAC&U AI Leadership Symposium has stayed with me all day. In a moment when so much attention is on AI, tools, bots, and rapid change, it was grounding to hear a reminder in a room full of leaders that what matters most is the connection between how we teach and how students truly learn. This is a time to innovate, yes, but also to recommit to the fundamentals. Thoughtful pedagogy. Real engagement. Equity in access and outcomes. No matter the promise of or excitement about a technology it still comes down to that core relationship. American Association of Colleges and Universities (AAC&U) #AACULEAD #AILiteracy

At our RedThread Research #Elevate2025, Lightcast sponsored a pre-conference session on creating a skills strategy. We are following that up with a public roundtable for HR practitioners (sorry vendor friends!), building on that session to talk more about how do we go from concept to execution. Day: Tuesday, October 7 Time: 11 am PT / 2 pm ET In this roundtable, we’ll dig into practical questions we’re actively researching, including: --How do we combine skills data so we can have the information where we need it, when we need it? --How do we validate skills and ensure those validations are consistent across systems and the organization? --How do we better understand the connection between skills, tasks, jobs, and AI — and how that understanding can inform work design, automation, and talent development? --How do we leverage technology effectively to support these efforts — without creating unnecessary complexity?
