College Feature/Short
Short films are a great opportunity to push the boundaries of cinematic storytelling and engage the audience.
This category highlights films that build on those same fundamentals with greater depth and precision. Entries reflect a more developed creative voice, intentional craft, and a confident command of cinematic storytelling, resulting in films that feel expansive and purposeful within a short runtime.
Open to Florida College Students
Film must be 30 minutes (TRT) or less (excluding credits).
1st Place - $2,000 Award
2nd Place - $1,500 Award
3rd Place - $1,000 Award
Funds are awarded to the submitting school.
Submitted projects will be judged on the following set of criteria:
Plot
Themes/Tone
Acting/Characters
Score/Sound/Music
Direction
Production Design
Cinematography
Lighting
Special Effects
Editing
SUBMISSION PROCESS:
1. Register as an applicant by clicking the Submit Your Project button below, which will direct you to the FilmFreeway platform for the SSOF. If you don't already have an account with FilmFreeway, you must create a free account to upload and submit your project.
2. Once on FilmFreeway, click the Green SUBMIT NOW Button and select your category to complete the submission process including uploading your documentary film.
