Our Mission & History
Mission Statement
Project Apis m. (PAm) is dedicated to supporting honey bee health and pollination security through practical, science-based solutions. Founded in 2006 as a collaboration between commercial beekeepers and almond growers, PAm works closely with scientists, industry leaders, and agricultural stakeholders in the U.S. and Canada to address key challenges and deliver actionable results.
Vision Statement
We envision a future where honey bees thrive, ensuring a stable food supply and sustainable agriculture. Our work is driven by three core pillars:
Research: Funding applied projects that tackle critical issues in honey bee health, translating science into real-world solutions.
Forage: Partnering with farmers to enhance forage availability and diversity through initiatives like Seeds for Bees®.
Collaboration: Connecting beekeepers, researchers, and industry partners to foster innovation and improve pollination practices.
Our Approach
PAm prioritizes practical research and rapid responses to emerging threats, supporting established experts and new researchers in their efforts to protect honey bee populations.
Why it Matters
Honey bees play a crucial role in pollination and food production while facing growing challenges. By funding impactful research and providing essential resources to the beekeeping community, PAm works to ensure a sustainable future for honey bees, agriculture, and global food security.
