The Quechee Inn at Marshland Farm offers beautiful outdoor wedding ceremony locations in Vermont to match every style. Choose our upper or lower courtyards with sweeping views of the Ottauquechee River and Dewey’s Pond, or select a more private setting in our peaceful back fields.
Scenic Vermont landscapes create a picture-perfect backdrop for your wedding day. For couples planning a smaller or weather-friendly option, intimate indoor wedding ceremonies are also available.
rehearsal dinner
Many couples choose to host their rehearsal dinners at the inn, whether an intimate gathering for the wedding party or a larger welcome dinner for all guests. Options include our weekend-exclusive tent, the upper courtyard, or one of our dining rooms. Our wedding coordinator will help plan the menu and décor, with chefs creating everything from plated dinners and buffets to BBQs or themed nights.
RECEPTION
The Quechee Inn at Marshland Farm offers flexible wedding reception spaces for any celebration. Outdoors, a tented courtyard beside the historic red barn can host 60–200 guests with a stage and dance floor. Indoors, the Main Dining Room and Porter Library accommodate up to 72 guests, with the Common Room and Gallery Dining Room for dancing, cocktails, or buffets. A full-service bar and patio add convenience, while our staff handles décor and setup to make every detail perfect.

COMMON QUESTIONS
How many people can the tent accommodate?
The tent can comfortably accommodate 100-200 guests.
Do you host the ceremony on site?
Yes, we have a few different onsite locations for your ceremony. Our planner will help you find the perfect spot.
Can we host a rehearsal dinner on-site?
Yes, we have numerous options for a rehearsal dinner. We can send along menus and ideas for you.
Do you help with vendors?
Yes, we have a full preferred vendor list to offer you and our assistance.
What is include with the cost of the tent?
A main tent with a ceiling liner, side tent, tables, chairs, dance floor, two chandeliers, and four strands of bistro lighting are included.
Who does the event set up?
We setup the tables, chairs, linens inside the tent for the reception and the chairs for the ceremony. If there is any additional setup involved beyond our normal setup, such as flower arrangements, decor on the tables, there will be an additional fee charged.
What activities can my guests enjoy?
The Quechee Gorge is just a short walk from the inn. Nearby towns of Hanover, Woodstock, and Norwich offer quaint town walks, antique stores, and restaurants. There are also several breweries in the area, from the well-known Long Trail and Harpoon to River Roost, a small but renowned operation just down the road in White River Junction.
Where else can my guests stay?
The closest hotel is the Align Inn at the Quechee Gorge. However, there are half a dozen places to stay in a 15-minute radius, ranging from small bed and breakfasts to large chain motels.
What time do you host the ceremony?
We recommend a 4:30pm start but as with everything, there's flexibility depending on your needs.
How long can the reception be?
Five hours, from the start of cocktail hour.
What time does the outdoor venue close?
10 p.m., but don't worry, the party can move inside!
Can we have an after party?
Yes, we're happy to reopen the indoor bar from 10 p.m. to 11:30 p.m. to keep the celebration going.
How late can the bar stay open?
11:30 p.m. and quiet time by 12 a.m.
Is there an on-site wedding coordinator?
Yes, we offer a personal coordinator for the entire process for an additional cost.
Can the Chef accommodate allergies?
Yes, as long as we know ahead of time!
Can we bring in our own wine or beer?
No. This is not allowed under Vermont Liquor Law.
Can we invite non-guests to the brunch?
Yes, outside guest meals are $21.99/per person.
We had the most amazing time having our wedding at the Quechee Inn at Marshland Farm! The venue was absolutely gorgeous and we loved having the entire Inn to ourselves for the weekend to spend time with friends and family. The entire staff were incredible and they made sure everything was taken care of. Everyone was extremely easy to work with, always checking in to make sure things were going smoothly, and getting us anything we might need or have forgotten. The food was delicious and there was not a single hiccup the entire weekend. All our guests had nothing but great things to say and neither do we. I would highly recommend the Quechee Inn to anyone for their wedding weekend. Cheers!
