I have a machine that can print labels (ZPL), but only to IP printers. I want to test my labels first by printing to a virtual printer that generates PDFs. The solution I came up with is to set up Ubuntu to look like an IP printer that can print labels to a PDF file. Is this doable?

  • No, I want Ubuntu to be the PDF printer itself, like other computers connecting to its IP like a printer, then it saves the job as a PDF. I tried CUPS but it only provides urls — it doesn’t set itself up as a printer. Commented Oct 25 at 4:04
