I have a machine that can print labels (ZPL), but only to IP printers. I want to test my labels first by printing to a virtual printer that generates PDFs. The solution I came up with is to set up Ubuntu to look like an IP printer that can print labels to a PDF file. Is this doable?

1askubuntu.com/questions/81817/how-to-install-a-pdf-printer does not answer your question? :)Rinzwind– Rinzwind2025-10-22 08:07:08 +00:00Commented Oct 22 at 8:07

No, I want Ubuntu to be the PDF printer itself, like other computers connecting to its IP like a printer, then it saves the job as a PDF. I tried CUPS but it only provides urls — it doesn’t set itself up as a printer.jsincioco– jsincioco2025-10-25 04:04:49 +00:00Commented Oct 25 at 4:04
