Dylan Freeze shared thisExcited to be a part of the journey at ProteinQure. Lucas and the team continue to impress us every day with what they’re building.Dylan Freeze shared thisAt Kensington Capital, we back ambitious teams tackling hard problems — and ProteinQure is a prime example. The round, led by Heron Rock Fund and joined by Kensington Capital, will fund the company’s first human clinical trial: PQ203, a peptide-drug conjugate targeting triple-negative breast cancer — a particularly aggressive and treatment-resistant form of the disease. “As the team continues to pioneer new methods of drug development targeting a wide range of therapeutic outcomes, we’re proud to support ProteinQure in this latest round of financing,” said Dylan Freeze, Director at Kensington Capital Partners. Dylan Freeze liked thisWe are proud to share that PLUS Capital has followed on our original investment in Garner Health, joining their $100M Series E announced today. When we first invested in Garner, we saw where they could solve a problem and fill a gap: the American healthcare system rewards volume over quality and Garner has built a real mechanism to change that. Today, with revenue more than doubling for five straight years, nearly 800 employer customers, and a valuation of $2.74B, we are thrilled to be a part of Garner's incredible growth. We're proud to be deepening our commitment alongside our PLUS Celebrity Collective. Congratulations to Nick Reber and the entire Garner team on a well-deserved milestone! PLUS Disclaimers & Privacy Notice: https://lnkd.in/gs9j57hQDylan Freeze liked thisI'm thrilled to announce that Garner Health has closed a $100 million Series E at a $2.74 billion valuation, led by Index Ventures with continued participation from Kleiner Perkins, Redpoint, Thrive Capital, Sequoia, Founders Fund, and Kaiser Permanente Ventures. As AI transforms U.S. healthcare, this funding allows us to accelerate our work to build the new AI front door to healthcare. Today, I’m excited to also share two new features that transform our member experience and accelerate our understanding of clinical performance: Garner Assistant and Garner Research Agent. When we founded Garner, the mission was simple: give patients the data and incentives they need to find the best doctors and lower healthcare costs in the process. Today, 2.5 million people are getting better care, 800+ employers are seeing 12% lower plan costs on average, and we've saved employers over $1B to date. None of this happens without the trust of our members, partners, and incredible team. 📣 A comeback worth celebrating: BDC returns to direct life sciences investing with a new $150M fund. For some time, the Canadian life sciences sector has faced a dilemma. On one hand, it's startups generated the strongest 10-year returns in venture capital in 2024. On the other hand, the sector struggled to attract enough investors, leading to a gap between research output and commercialization. Today, with this development, the landscape is beginning to change. ➡️ BDC's Life Sciences Venture Fund—managed by BDC Capital—will target early-stage companies developing therapeutics and medical technologies, helping early-stage companies move scientific discoveries toward commercialization. 🔹 The fund plans to invest between $8M and $12M per company over the life of an investment, starting with $1M to $3M at the seed stage, followed by larger Series A cheques and reserves for follow-on funding. 👏 With this development, we hope to see the sector move forward to do more, achieve more, and bring even more life-changing innovations to the global stage.
