I’ve been experimenting with how far Drupal 11 can be pushed for modern publishing workflows — especially around performance and static publishing. A few days ago, I shared a case study on Drupal.org about building a high-performance static publishing platform using Drupal 11, Tome, and Pagefind. The goal was to keep Drupal’s editorial flexibility while delivering a much faster and lighter frontend experience. The results were really interesting in terms of: - page speed - SEO - hosting efficiency - scalability for content-heavy platforms What I enjoyed most was seeing how Drupal can still adapt really well to modern architecture approaches beyond the traditional CMS model. Copilot can often be judged like a search engine: Ask a question → get an answer → decide if it’s “right”. That mindset creates disappointment... and risk. The reality is: Copilot doesn’t search the open web by default It answers confidently even when context is missing (aka Hallucinations) Poor SharePoint structure = poor Copilot answers ( the old adage of 💩 in --> 💩 out ) Permissions shape the responses more than keywords Used like Google, Copilot can quickly become an expensive FAQ tool. Give your prompts context, not keywords e.g. rather than prompt "Project Status" type something along the lines of "Based on the latest project documents and emails, summarise the current status, risks and actions for the leadership team". This morning I delivered an invited keynote at DrupalCamp Grenoble 2026. The topic was simple: what is the link between web development and embedded? In practice, the gap is much smaller than it used to be. Embedded goes even further in some areas now, especially with the CRA that will soon fully applying to it (and only partially to web). var_dump() isn’t a debugging strategy. This is. 👇 I spent years developing in Drupal without a proper debugger. It can be done — I did it — but looking back, it felt like navigating a forest with a flashlight instead of a map. Since the early Drupal 8 days, Xdebug paired with VS Code has been a core part of my workflow. Setting breakpoints, stepping through custom module logic, inspecting service calls — it changes how you see the system. You get clarity, confidence, and a lot less time wasted chasing ghosts. And the best part? If you’re using Lando or DDEV, Xdebug is already built in. A few lines of config and you’re ready to debug like a pro.
