Jean-Louis Constanza a republié ceciJean-Louis Constanza a republié ceciFrench robotics company Wandercraft has launched Eve, a personal exoskeleton designed to help eligible wheelchair users with spinal cord injuries stand and walk while keeping both hands free. Eve uses powered hip, knee and ankle joints with 12 actuated degrees of freedom, combined with a self-balancing system that allows users to walk without relying on crutches or a walker for balance. The device has received FDA clearance, supported by three clinical studies involving 39 people with spinal cord injuries. The FDA reported that Eve met its primary effectiveness and usability targets, while the studies recorded 25 device- or procedure-related adverse events, all classified as non-serious and resolved without lasting effects. Eve can accommodate eligible users up to 100 kg (220 lb) and 1.94 m (6’4”), depending on fitting requirements. It can reach speeds of up to 0.9 km/h and typically provides around four hours of battery life. However, Eve is not a replacement for a wheelchair and has specific operating limitations. It is intended for suitable flat, firm and dry surfaces, and users must have a specially trained companion within arm’s reach during operation. Before taking Eve home, users and their companions complete five training sessions of approximately two hours each. Wandercraft describes Eve as the world’s first FDA-cleared self-balancing personal exoskeleton, potentially opening new possibilities for everyday standing and walking for eligible wheelchair users. Source: U.S. Food and Drug Administration; Wandercraft Disclaimer: This post is based on information from the FDA and Wandercraft. Eve is intended only for eligible users who meet the device’s medical, physical and fitting requirements, and its use is subject to specific safety restrictions and training. #Wandercraft #EveExoskeleton #Robotics #Exoskeleton #MedicalRobotics #SpinalCordInjury #Accessibility #AssistiveTechnology #HealthcareTechnology #ArtificialIntelligence #TechNews #RoboticsNews #Innovation #FutureOfMobility #MedTech

Someone whom you like very much trains Sentience (the Ai's name). The AI acquires a very strong resemblance. The person passes away. Will you want to keep her/him 'with you' ? Won't you ?

Jean-Louis Constanza a partagé ceciWe at Wandercraft just revealed our massive commercial success since we started to commercialize our #humanoid Cavin, one year ago. Read Matthieu Masselin's take below. Deploying #humanoid robots with 12 very large customers, in industry or logistics. Who benchmarked us against most competitors from China, the USA and Europe. Fast progression in both hardware and physical AI. Owning our data. First order of 350 robots for true industrial use, a premiere in Europe and maybe elsewhere. There is no reason to fear the upcoming and intense competition in robots. We in Europe, especially Wandercraft, with our partner Renault Group, have everything to win it. And that is because we deliver what our customers are wanting: high reliability, high success rate, heavy payloads, independent sovereignty of our production. No frills, no kung-fu, only industrial features. We Europeans must make our own robots ! We're working on it. ** Read more about our path toward commercial dominance in industrial humanoids: https://lnkd.in/g6eRHBWq **Jean-Louis Constanza a partagé ceci12 blue-chip customers. Real-world deployments. And our industrial humanoid Calvin-40 is just getting started. Across automotive, retail, healthcare facilities, defense logistics, and other industries, customers are turning to Calvin-40 for physically demanding work - from handling tires to boxes and parcels. Our approach to physical AI is deliberate: establish reliability across commercially valuable task clusters, deploy Calvin-40 in real-world environments, and use data and experience from those deployments to progress toward general purpose robotics. Just as important, we control the learning loop. Wandercraft owns the operational data, use-case expertise, and the development path from reliable task-specific performance to broader generalization, independent of any single technology supplier. Humanoid robots will not scale because they are general. They will become general as they scale. Read more about our path toward commercial dominance in industrial humanoids: https://lnkd.in/g6eRHBWq

Today, its work supports aging adults and people living with paralysis and mobility impairments. Eve, our FDA-cleared personal exoskeleton, is now commercially available in the US for eligible adults with spinal cord injuries. Its self-balancing technology enables upright mobility without crutches or a walker, leaving users’ hands free for everyday activities. Bringing that mobility beyond rehabilitation and into people’s lives is what Eve is about. Seeing Mark address his community in Eve, with his parents joining him on stage, made that purpose feel especially close. This our challenge in Europe, exactly as Oliver describes! However, imagine if we can change this together, if we can start to effectively nurture our innovative scale-ups. That would drastically enhance Europe’s global competitive position in the coming decade. The only thing we will need to realize is that this will require not more rules and reviews and processes, but a change of mindset.

Today, I’ve written in Les Echos about how the story of European tech is changing. No longer are we watching talent and ambition cross the Atlantic. 82% of European founders now choose to build from Europe. Companies like Mistral AI and Klarna prove we can compete globally. And France is demonstrating what happens when ambition meets infrastructure. France 2030 and the Tibi Initiative have shown that strategic commitment works. France 2030 has catalysed a generation of deep tech companies. Tibi mobilised €13bn from institutional investors, without new public funds or subsidies. This isn’t accidental. It’s what happens when founders, investors and policymakers align. Across Europe, founders still work twice as hard to achieve the same outcomes. Fragmented legal systems. Slow employment frameworks. Growth capital flowing from the US while European pension funds, managing hundreds of billions, allocate almost nothing to venture. France is proving that removing even part of that friction unlocks enormous potential. Europe has built a €4 trillion tech ecosystem with one hand tied behind its back. France is showing how to untie it. Do that across Europe and we don’t just compete in the next decade of innovation. We lead it. You can read the full op-ed in Les Echos here: https://lnkd.in/evTVGgzp
