March's Topic Challenge: Female Protagonists

It's time to shine a spotlight on heroines! This month, we're highlighting incredible games led by powerful female protagonists.

The Topic: Games featuring a female protagonist as the primary playable character. Whether it’s Aloy from , Lara Croft from , Jesse Faden from , Maxine Caulfield from , or any other game that fits, it counts! Please note that games offering a selection of character options with no meaningful difference to the story (like Fallout 4 or Mass Effect) do not fit the criteria for this month.

How to Participate

  • Play: Fire up a game that fits the topic.
  • Contribute: Post organic questions you encounter during gameplay, or provide high-quality answers to existing ones. Edit old posts, improve tag wikis, or fix formatting to bring the topic up to date.
  • Enter: Post an answer to this meta listing your contributions (questions, answers, major edits), and any other info about your experience: reviews, goals, or funny moments you've had, it all counts!
  • Engage: Vote, comment, and review entries from other participants.

What is a Topic Challenge?

It’s a friendly neighborhood opt-in monthly event to have some fun, play some games, and explore specific corners of the gaming world. For more information, see: Gauging community interest in running a Monthly Topic Challenge

Have an idea for the next challenge?

We're always looking for new ideas! Please add your suggestions as an answer on our Topic Collection Post.

The Fine Print

  • Quality over Quantity: This isn't a race for the most posts, we're looking for genuine content. Arqade’s standard quality and closing rules still apply!
  • Keep it Genuine: Only post questions you’d actually want to know the answer to, and answers about games you've actually played.
  • The Payoff: At the end of the month, we’ll highlight the top contributions, including the highest-scoring posts, most prolific editors, and most-viewed questions.

I also think I've outdone myself with the Spidey puns here. I don't know if I can maintain that level of dad jokes for every topic challenge lol. Commented 13 hours ago

Maybe let the topic initiator write up the post? I'm not sure there a lot of female protagonist jokes, though. Maybe in a looser sense, like how someone 'crofted a nice answer', or by misusing pronouns to hilarious effect (I've no idea how ATM). In any case: thanks, Robotnik, it is much appreciated!
