February's Topic Challenge: Spider-Man

Dust off your web-shooters! This month, we’re focusing on everyone’s favorite neighborhood wall-crawler.

The Topic: Any game featuring Spider-Man. Whether it’s , , or even his secret cameo in , it counts!

How to Participate

  • Play: Fire up a Spidey-related game.
  • Contribute: Post organic questions you encounter during gameplay, or provide high-quality answers to existing ones. Edit old posts, improve tag wikis, or fix formatting to bring the topic up to date.
  • Enter: Post an answer to this meta listing your contributions (questions, answers, major edits), and any other info about your experience: reviews, goals, or funny moments you've had, it all counts!
  • Engage: Vote, comment, and review entries from other participants.

What is a Topic Challenge?

It’s a friendly, opt-in monthly event to have some fun, play some games, and explore specific corners of the gaming world. For more information, see: Gauging community interest in running a Monthly Topic Challenge

The Fine Print

  • Quality over Quantity: This isn't a race for the most posts, we're looking for genuine content. Arqade’s standard quality and closing rules still apply!
  • Keep it Genuine: Only post questions you’d actually want to know the answer to, and answers about games you've actually played.
  • The Payoff: At the end of the month, we’ll highlight the top contributions, including the highest-scoring posts, most prolific editors, and most-viewed questions.

  • Philosoraptor moment: If Spooder-Man ever had a game, would it count for this? 😂 Commented Feb 5 at 18:39

@Alex Looks like Indie devs have answered your call: Spooderman: The Video Game. I havent played it but from a few screenshots it at least looks playable. (And yeah, I'd say this would count for the topic challenge 😅) Commented Feb 5 at 19:07

I've added some 'goals' to my answer that I've been striving towards - I just thought it might be a fun element to show progress other than purely asking/answering. I'm not saying everyone needs to do this - but it might be a way we can count participation in the challenge, without necessarily requiring new questions/answers on the main site moving forward. What does everyone think? Commented Feb 22 at 10:15
  • @Robotnik I feel like most of the time, the goal will just be "finish the game" or "get the thing" Commented Feb 25 at 1:16

@voided - true, but I'm thinking in terms of showing progress and participation in the challenge, without necessarily needing people to ask and answer main site questions - which was one of the concerns brought up on the discussion post :) Commented Feb 25 at 2:09
  • Ending soon. Man the month flew by. Commented Feb 26 at 0:51

Game 1 -

A side-scrolling endless runner with Survival and Story game modes. The game is an Android title which has unfortunately been delisted from the Play Store. (You can still find it on other places if you're ok with installing APK files manually).

Goals

  • Complete the story mode ✅
  • Unlock all the Spidey-suits ❌ - I managed to unlock:
    • Spider-Ham (story progress),
    • Battle-Damaged Spider-Man (spent the premium in-game currency)
    • "1 time uses" of every other premium suit, except for Big Time Spider-Man.

Game 2 -

A 3D skateboarding game in which Spider-Man is an unlockable character, obtained by 100%-ing Career mode with a custom skater.

Goals

  • Unlock Spider-Man ❌
    • I ran out of time to complete this: I'm not as good at Tony Hawk games as I remember!
  • Perform each of his special tricks ❌

I am very much aware I might be the only person with any expertise in this obscure abandonware game (on Arqade at least!), hence the high amount of self-answers here: just sharing my knowledge as I find things out :). There is so little info about this game online, everything I've answered I've had to figure out on my own Commented Feb 13 at 12:35

I tried to answer the special dash question, but could find literally nothing online except a couple of YouTube general gameplay videos :P Commented Feb 14 at 16:35

@voided thanks, yeah theres nothing out there hey 😅. Its alright though. Im pretty sure of the answer for that one, but I'm banking up a bunch of "one time uses" of the suits, I plan to test them all back to back, record it, and make some gifs as examples Commented Feb 14 at 20:58

Man, I am not as good at THPS as I remember. I doubt I'm going to unlock Spidey in time haha. But I'm having fun trying! Commented Feb 25 at 23:56

You absolutely deserve to win this month, though I sadly cannot do anymore than give you a single upvote and hope others join in aswell. Commented 2 days ago

@TreeSpawned I don’t think anyone really "wins" monthly topic challenges :P Commented 7 hours ago
