I've been a PS Plus Extra member since 2023 and had stacked my subscription for two years before the price increase. My membership ends in May 2025, but I want to downgrade to Essentials.

If I buy a PS Plus Essentials code from Amazon and redeem it while my Extra membership is active, will the Essentials membership stack and activate after my Extra membership ends, or will it override the current Extra membership and activate immediately?

If you redeem a PS Plus Essentials code while your Extra membership is still active, the Essentials membership will not activate immediately. Instead, it will stack on top of your existing subscription and activate once your Extra membership expires.

So, you can safely purchase and redeem the Essentials code now, and it will extend your subscription to Essentials once your Extra membership ends in May 2025.
