In the manga 宝石の国, the first sentence on the first page looks like っとそうだ。

question about 宝石の国 page 1 Colloquial speech/口語　always throws me off. Is this short for …ということは？ As in:

(あちらの方になんか見える)ということは…そうです、ね。

(Seeing something off in the distance) that means…oh, that’s right.

This っと is either:

Either way, っと functions as an interjection used when you suddenly recalled something important. It's "Oh, right", "Ah, I almost forgot", or "Wait".
