Li Maisi さんが「いいね！」しましたWe need to publicly clarify serious issues in Google’s ICLR 2026 paper TurboQuant. TurboQuant misrepresents RaBitQ in three ways: 1. Avoids acknowledging key methodological similarity (JL transform) 2. Calls our theory “suboptimal” with no evidence 3. Reports results under unfair experimental settings We have expressed our concerns to the authors before their submission, but they chose not to fix them in their paper submission. The paper was accepted at ICLR 2026 and heavily promoted by Google (tens of millions of views). At that scale, uncorrected claims quickly become “consensus.” Facts: 1. RaBitQ already proves asymptotic optimality (FOCS’17 bound) 2. TurboQuant uses the same random rotation step but misses stating the connection 3. Their experiments used single-core CPU for RaBitQ vs A100 GPU for TurboQuant None of these is properly disclosed. We’ve filed a formal complaint and posted on OpenReview (https:// https://lnkd.in/gdcbcjJM). We’ll release a detailed technical report on arXiv. Our goal is simple: keep the academic record accurate. I wanted my final order to be special, so I decided to place it in Hiroshima — the city where Wolt Japan's journey started six years ago. My last order was placed at the co-working space that used to be our first Hiroshima office. Back then, we started with just two small rooms without windows. I spent most of my waking hours there. The work was incredibly intense, but what I remember most are the positive and exciting moments. I still remember the very first day in Hiroshima — and the very first order. Not only I, but also other early team members who were no longer with Wolt Japan came to Hiroshima yesterday. Some even traveled far from Hiroshima after a sudden call. What started as a small visit turned into a farewell gathering — not only for current employees but also former team members who helped build Wolt Japan. Then something even more memorable happened. We were invited to a courier partner gathering after operations ended. There was a group of courier partners there, all wearing Wolt courier gear. Both current and former Wolt members, including myself, gave farewell speeches — and so did the courier partners. Although Wolt Japan will no longer operate, they showed nothing but appreciation and love for the company and the people who built the business together with them. What surprised me most was that many of them still remembered me — and the onboarding sessions I gave them six years ago. Although Wolt Japan's business did not meet the company's expectations and the exit eventually happened, Wolt's hyper-local approach clearly left something meaningful behind. Yesterday reminded me of that. "The sense of community we built together was real" I did not stay at Wolt Japan until the very end, but the reason I left had nothing to do with anything negative. Wolt was truly the best company I have ever worked for. I was incredibly lucky to become the very first employee in Japan and to have Wolt legends as my managers — Marianne Vikkula, Matias Nordström, Tony Honkanen, Olli Rissanen. They gave me opportunities to grow as a business professional and leader. Today I can call them friends — which is quite special, especially in Japan where it is not common to become friends with your managers. Even though Wolt has decided to exit the Japanese market, I respect the leadership's decision and will always remain a big fan of Wolt. 1️⃣ Final picture with Wolt members and courier partners🩵 2️⃣ Japanese way of showing appreciation🫶 3️⃣ The good old crew🤝 On a personal note, I’ve been traveling around the world to gain new experiences, but it might soon be time to find the next rocket ship. As a Magical Software Engineer, my sacred responsibilities included defending love and pricing, expanding the honorable presence of the letter “ñ,” normalizing the daily usage of Doge Slack emojis, and ensuring a steady distribution of premium Mexican memes across the organization. For over ~5 years, this journey felt less like a job and more like a long-running shōnen arc. Along the way, I had the privilege of teaming up with truly legendary humans. Highlights from this saga include: - The internal knowledge base eternally suggesting: “カルロスは本当に人間ですか？それとも普通の犬より賢い柴犬ですか？” A philosophical question that may never be answered. - Remaining undefeated at 7 Wonders—thanks to the strategic decision of only playing once. - Joining the origin arc of two powerful guilds: the team that brought Wolt Rewards to life (because everyone loves perks), and the Consumer Pricing Team—where the math became so chaotic we chose enlightenment through relearning the fundamentals. - Holding the prestigious title of “Employee With the Fewest Orders in Japan,” mainly because the service never reached my area 🫠 - Serving as the official Taco Sensei for anyone in search of proper tortillas and life guidance. Now, as this chapter closes, I know new adventures await everyone. What we built here made other countries look toward Japan; not just for results, but for how we worked together to achieve them. From Tokyo, I worked on projects with financial impact across multiple countries, which made the experience especially meaningful. More than anything, I feel incredibly fortunate to have worked with talented teammates. It has truly been one of the highlights of my engineering career. Looking back, I sometimes think I should have spent more time building relationships outside of work and gone out for more drinks with the team. I might have been a bit of a workaholic. For now, I’m planning to take a short break and use this time to reflect on my life and what I want to do next. To be honest, I just can’t seem to bring myself to update my CV yet, and I think that’s okay. I’d like to slow down, recharge, and give myself space before stepping into the next chapter. I’m deeply grateful for the journey and for everyone I had the chance to work with ❤️ .
