I got suspended on chat.SE, while being an room owner for the Sandbox.

I tried to put the room in timeout from the room 🔻 menu and it succeeded:

This room was placed in timeout for 1 minute; Can I really do that? (Timestamp 14:37)

Should this feature be disabled for suspended users (suspended room owners)?

If any user wishes to contest their own suspension, they may do so directly but we don't act based on demands from other users. I will state that this question has nothing to do with the suspension. Beyond that, I need y'all to respect that suspensions are private to protect the recipient unless they wish to discuss it or give express permission for mods to do so. Commented Aug 18, 2023 at 19:37
  • Still works. You can just use a one-second timeout and use the message field fr a message. It's just like chatting like normal. Should get fixed ASAP if we don't want banned people talking. Commented Aug 27 at 2:22

This has been resolved, and it is no longer possible for suspended room owners to put a chat in timeout.

Ah, so this would be considered a circumvention of a suspension.

If someone is intentionally using RO tools to circumvent a suspension - it would be appreciated if someone flags the message to let us know what's going on. While room ownership is awarded somewhat trivially, it is still a position of trust, and using the tools given to you appropriately even when suspended is an expectation of the position.

Considering the circumstances, removal of RO privileges and extending the suspension seems appropriate.

If you wish to test these things out please talk to a moderator, make sure you're covered and that the suspension for testing these things should be specifically for science.
