I use the stackexchange.com main page a lot to browse hot network questions, but unlike all the other sites of the network, for whatever reason the main page is not mobile optimized and pretty much unusable on a mobile browser.

Is there any way to view this page on Android in any kind of readable format?

I just noticed for the first time a RSS feed link on the bottom of the main page. I then tried a few different RSS feed viewer apps on Android, and from the ones I tested I like the look of Inoreader the best. The feed can be added by pressing the "plus" icon in Inoreader, then typing "stackexchange" in the search bar.

This has a few problems of its own, of course,

  • the layout still kinda sucks, although much less than the native mobile site,
  • you can only sort by "new" or "old" and not by hotness,
  • you only get to see 30 questions,
  • you can't see tags, and
  • it always appends the url of the stackexchange sub-site after the question title.

Not sure how long I will be using this, just leaving it here to offer some alternative at least.
