I only remember a little bit of details about this movie since I watched it around 2004-2005:

  • A boy moved to a new house with his family. He was scared of everything, one of the early scene was when he got out of the car and there were sheep surrounding the car, and he was scared of them.
  • He met a ghost/spirit in the house and get to know him. At the end they found some kind of underground tunnel trying to find the ghost body for it to rest in peace.
  • The boy overcome his fears by going through all that and saying goodbye to the ghost.
  • The family are white, maybe English or Scottish. The setting is in the country side, with a lot of green, if I remember correctly.
  • The movie was on HBO cable TV in Korea late on Tuesday or Wednesday.
  • I only remember a little bit of the beginning and the end, not a lot of information I'm sure, but if you have anything at all, I'll appreciate it very much.

If there is any information you need that can be helpful; please let me know, I'll try my best to remember.

  • This sounds a bit like 6th sense but I could be greatly mistaken. Commented Sep 21, 2017 at 9:00

Apart from the fact that ghosts are involved, this doesn't sound at all like the Sixth Sense. Commented Jan 20, 2025 at 15:48

so I found the movie. The title is Das Gespenst von Canterville (2005). It’s a German TV-movie.

The poor ghost of Sir Simon Canterville has been roaming his castle searching in vain for a brave descendant who will release him from the Canterville curse by performing a brave deed. An American family moves in and finds the ghost amusing, but a young girl in the family can release him - if she dares.

I’d been looking for this movie too, because lately I felt like it was just a fever dream, but when I saw this post, I knew I wasn’t hallucinating.

  • The IMDB plot summary I've added to this answer indicates that the child helping the ghost is a girl, but having reviewed some footage and checked the IMDB cast list, it appears the character is actually a boy named Paul Brenner, played by German actor, Martin Kurz. • Hello, after a quick Google search on the title, I can say with confidence that this is it! Looks like there're different versions of this movie, but the particular one I was looking for is the one directed by Isabel Kleefeld, and was released in 2005. Thank you for this, such a nostalgic feeling watching it again. Commented Dec 26, 2025 at 15:55
