I always keep a container of these plant-based disinfecting wipes stocked in my home. I’ve used them for over 10 years, and after becoming a mom, they quickly became one of those cleaning staples I never want to run out of.

Here on Chemistry Cachet, I’m always looking for practical, unexpected ways to use everyday products you already have at home—especially ones that save time and make cleaning easier.

One surprising discovery? These particular wipes work incredibly well for quick outdoor cleaning tasks too. From wiping down patio surfaces to freshening up boots and other outdoor messes, they’ve become part of my go-to spring and summer cleaning routine.

Unexpected Outdoor Cleaning Uses For These Disinfecting Wipes

1. Outdoor Kids Toys

My kids get mud and dirt on their outdoor toys. A simple wipe with one of these quickly and safely removes all the buildup on their outdoor toys. This works especially well for tricycles and plastic cars!

2. Rubber Boots and Shoes

This is one of my favorite uses for these plant-based disinfecting wipes! If I have time, I love to get out the rubber hose and clean my kids rubber boots and crocs we keep out back. But that takes time and gets a little messy. It takes just a few minutes and no rinsing required for me to quickly wipe off their muddy shoes! Check out this before and after below.

Time: 2 minutes

Used: 1 wipe per boot

I just did a quick wipe per boot and it took about 2 minutes total for a quick clean.

3. Plastic Storage Containers

We have several thick, hard storage containers with ribbed surfaces. I used two cleaning wipes for our large storage bench and it clean up so well! In our instagram reel, you can see how well the wipes suds up, which helps clean dust and dirt. However, you don’t need to rinse!

4. Wicker Patio Furniture

Another spot I love cleaning with these wipes is wicker surfaces! It works so well to remove any type of dust, buildup, or dirt lingering on wicker.

5. Outdoor Cushions and Fabrics

Okay, this is my favorite use for plant-based cleaning wipes! I cleaned off muds stains from my outdoor cushions so easily! It only took about two minutes per stain. I wiped in a quick circular motion like you would do a stain remover! Above is the before photo on the side, and check out these after photo below:

6. Window Frames

Dusty window frames can be clean in minutes with a few quick wipes! And also all around your outdoor windows.

7. Kids Swings

I cleaned all these items while my toddler was outside playing. Each item took just a few minutes and no rinsing was required, so I called that a big win!
