David Dougherty shared thisA magical place…where dreams really do come true. Go Utes!David Dougherty shared thisMagical things are happening at the U. As we reflect on the past year, we’re filled with a sense of wonder at the university’s significant achievements and our ever-increasing societal impact. This year we opened new living-learning communities on campus, inspiring more students with unparalleled experiences. In the coming year, we’ll add to the college town magic with even more housing facilities. We amplified our research efforts in 2023 and reached a new record in funding, allowing for more cutting-edge discoveries and innovations that improve lives. The past year also saw us expand our reach to patients in underserved populations across the state, and we will continue to partner with communities so we can bring our nationally ranked health care to even more Utahns. Thank you to our students, staff, faculty, health care providers, alumni, generous donors, and friends for everything you do to make the University of Utah a magical place. Happy Holidays to you, yours, and our entire extended U family.

David Dougherty shared thisWhy not?David Dougherty shared this//🍃 INNOVATIVE SOCIAL CHANGE Imagine living without the noise and pollution from motor vehicles. It's not a far-off dream - it could be a vision of the city areas of the future. Car-free city areas are steadily emerging worldwide and are set to revolutionize urban life as we know it. In these futuristic urban landscapes, the focus shifts from highways to greenways and from traffic lights to people's delight. Imagine the previously occupied space by cars, filled with bustling pedestrian walkways, vibrant green areas, biking lanes, and efficient public transport. Think of the profound impact this could have on our environment, health, and overall quality of life! Our task is to reshape city areas around people rather than vehicles, cultivating a cleaner, healthier, and more connected world. 🎯 Follow for 🤯 inspirations. David Dougherty liked thisDavid Dougherty liked thisBuilding an enduring, industry-leading platform is a continuous journey. Today, I am incredibly proud to share that Xactly Corp has been recognized as a Leader across five enterprise categories in the G2 Fall 2026 Reports. While taking the #2 spot in Sales Compensation and earning new Leader badges in Sales Planning is fantastic, the accolades I am most proud of are Easiest Admin, Best Support, and Highest User Adoption. Why? Because G2 rankings are purely driven by verified customer feedback. They are a direct reflection of the day-to-day reality of our users. Earning "Highest User Adoption" means we are delivering on our core promise: providing an Intelligent Revenue Platform that teams actually want to use. When software is easy to manage and supported by a world-class team, adoption becomes frictionless, and that is where true ROI is unlocked. I want to extend a sincere thank you to our customers for your continued partnership and trust. And to the entire Xactly team: thank you for your relentless dedication to our customers' success. The forward momentum we are seeing is a direct result of your hard work. Read more about our G2 Fall 2026 recognition here: https://xact.ly/uswYg

David Dougherty liked thisDavid Dougherty liked thisLearning is just a reaction to surprise. And past a certain age, there is no guarantee of surprise or learning. You have to seek them out. This was the core lesson in a class that Bracken Darrell gave to a class of my students at HBS. It is one that has stuck with me for many years and beautifully articulates the power of a beginner's mindset regardless of what role you inhabit. When Mastery Can Become the Enemy of CuriosityWhen Mastery Can Become the Enemy of CuriosityNitin Nohria

David Dougherty liked thisDavid Dougherty liked thisSome leadership problems are just new to us. At last week’s Education Finance Council conference, I moderated “Back to the Future: Lessons from Grad Plus” with Joseph Santoro, Ken Roberts, and Will Shaffner, and that idea was core to the panel’s message. Their experience brought something valuable to the conversation: perspective on what came before, what we learned, and what those lessons might mean for the decisions ahead. As a leader, you can spend a lot of time working through difficult decisions on your own. Or you can bring people into the conversation who see it differently, have faced something similar, and know which questions to ask. You still own the decision. But you have more to draw on when you make it. After spending most of my career in higher education finance, I didn’t expect the industry to remain such a big part of my work when I launched my leadership advisory practice. I’m glad it has. Today, I help CEOs and senior executives across industries work through hard decisions, build team ownership, and turn a clear direction into aligned action. Often, that starts with giving a leader space to think and an independent perspective. Doing that work in an industry that has given me so much is especially meaningful. Thank you to the panelists for the opportunity to contribute, reconnect, and keep learning, and to EFC for putting on a great conference at such an important time of industry change.

David Dougherty liked thisDavid Dougherty liked thisLast night in Nepal I was invited to share investment insights to a small group that included some very accomplished people. A couple multibillionaire global entrepreneurs, a very influential geopolitical advisor, someone who just sold their company to OpenAI for an insane amount of money. About one hour before the meeting, I decided to completely change my topic. Instead of investing, I spoke about: 🗣️ How wealth and success can either ruin or empower your kids and grandkids. 🗣️ How to keep wealth and success sustainable through generations by adding purpose and mission you your family’s finances. 🗣️ How the skills of getting rich are vastly different from the skills of staying wealthy. It was an insightful and passionate presentation which led to many private follow up conversations before, during and after dinner. But you know what struck me the most? That these people have won at the highest level. Billions built. Companies sold. And every private conversation afterward came back to the same thing. Their kids. Their family. Will my success end up hurting the people I love most? Nobody asks that until they're already at the top and their money issues are solved. Making the money is honestly the easier part. Holding your family together through the growth is the hard part, and ultimately, the more important one.

David Dougherty liked thisDavid Dougherty liked thisYou can't lead the shift to sales performance orchestration (SPO) without having the right voices at the table. This week, we hosted the Xactly Customer Advisory Board (CAB) Fall ‘26 Summit, bringing together a powerhouse group of revenue leaders to dissect the rapid evolution from SPM to SPO. We went deep on agentic AI, headless architecture, and what sellers really need to trust their compensation data. Our CAB members don't just provide feedback: they provide direction. We’re walking away from this week with incredible clarity and a shared vision for the future. Thank you to everyone who joined us for bringing the energy, hard questions, and true partnership! #XactlyCAB #CustomerSuccess #SalesPerformance #SPO #Partnership

David Dougherty liked thisDavid Dougherty liked thisLast week I had the privilege of training the inaugural facilitator cohort for the Aspire Mentorship Network, a new program at the University of Utah - David Eccles School of Business in partnership with Women Who Succeed. Eight remarkable women -- both current students serving as peer leads and young alums stepping back in as near-peer mentors -- will spend this year running small circle conversations with first-year women in business students on confidence, belonging, and finding their footing in a new environment. I led the first session on reframing confidence as self-efficacy, i.e. the belief that you can figure something out, built through small, repeatable evidence (unsurprisingly, a core part of what we do at Goff Strategic Leadership Institute). Jessie Richards followed with a session on facilitation that was honestly brilliant (always love learning from my colleagues): a great one-two punch for a group about to lead their first circles. What struck me most was how much this group was on it. They understood the assignment immediately, showed up with vulnerability and thoughtfulness, and jumped into the work with exactly the kind of self-efficacy we were there to talk about. These first-years are going to be in great hands. Thanks to Tara Hardison, PhD for the opportunity. #Mentorship #WomenInBusiness #Leadership #HigherEd

David Dougherty liked thisSuch an honor and privilege to attend the Lasker Award Ceremony today. The laureates were: Mignot & Yanagisawa — discovered orexin, the brain peptide that keeps you awake, and that losing it causes narcolepsy. Hattori, Igawa & Kitazawa — invented emicizumab, an antibody that bridges clotting Factors IX and X to replace missing Factor VIII in hemophilia A. Michael J. Fox — public service, for driving Parkinson's research and patient advocacy. It was great seeing so many scientists around the ceremony today including Shinya Yamanaka, Jeffrey Ravetch, Marc Feldmann Joseph Goldstein and Harold Varmus. It was a very nice touch that Mayor Bloomberg introduced Michael J. Fox for his award.

What we build today becomes someone else's foundation tomorrow. I recently had the chance to sit down with Cynthia Kirkpatrick, CPA, CFP® on the She Lift Project Podcast, and afterward I found myself thinking less about the business topics we covered and more about the stories behind them. We talked about entrepreneurship, leadership, EOS, company culture, succession planning, motherhood, perfectionism, and the very unplanned path that took me from a temporary contractor in 2008 to becoming a partner in 2018 and leading multiple companies today. One story keeps sticking with me. A few years ago, after my grandmother passed away, we found photos, documents, and family stories I had never seen before. One of them was about my grandparents opening a restaurant in Maplewood after immigrating from Hong Kong. According to my uncle, they were getting close to shutting it down when a 1972 restaurant review in the St. Louis Post-Dispatch changed everything. That one moment altered the direction of our family's future, and I never even knew the story until after they were gone. That realization has stayed with me. It's why I feel so strongly about preserving history and why I care so much about company culture and succession planning. Relationships matter more than most people realize. Whether we're building businesses, raising families, mentoring team members, preserving archives, or simply helping people solve problems through technology, we're all leaving something behind for the people who come after us. I didn't appreciate that as much in my twenties. I do now. I'm grateful to Cynthia and JJ Kirkpatrick for such a thoughtful conversation and for creating the kind of space where you can talk about business and life at the same time, because the truth is they're rarely as separate as we pretend they are. 🎧 YouTube: https://lnkd.in/gQ7QsyGU 🎧 Spotify: https://lnkd.in/gCspn7na 🎧 Apple Podcasts: https://lnkd.in/gAUtscvE Podcast Page: https://lnkd.in/gBK2DNtF Anderson Technologies, Anderson Archival
