Over the past few weeks, I've been showing leaders our Reality Check capability, which looks beyond the risk assessment and brings in what's happening right now across the regulatory, geopolitical, and business landscape. The conversations have been fascinating. One executive wanted to update a board presentation. Another asked if they could use the findings immediately. Another realized a competitor had made a move they hadn't yet seen. In each case, the information had emerged within the previous 24 hours. That has reinforced something I've been thinking about. Risk management is no longer just about identifying risk. It's about helping leaders make better decisions with better information while there is still time to act

Clark, and he’s been the gift that keeps on giving ever since. Kinda makes finding a Mother’s Day present difficult because nothing really compares to her gift to our family. That being said I am proud to be a husband, father, son and brother because of the decision of my parents Otis Clark & Clark Joann choosing to add me as a Clark! Fatherhood is a great Job! Now, the hours suck, the pay is even worse, no time off but somehow it’s still the best jobs I’ve ever had!

Retail Buzz Cato: Accelerating Store Closures Summary: The Cato Corporation recently announced plans to close approximately 70 additional underperforming stores during the third and fourth quarters, bringing total planned closures to roughly 120 locations during fiscal 2026. Commenting on the additional store closings, Chairman, President, and CEO John Cato, stated, "Annually we review approximately one-third of our stores to exercise available lease options or negotiate an extension based on each store's performance including store sales trend and current and projected store profitability. In years past, marginal stores were renewed for an additional year to give the store more time to improve its sales trend and profitability." Cato further noted, "In light of the current economic environment, especially with the negative pressure on our customers' discretionary income, we do not expect these marginal stores to improve appreciably. As a result, we are closing more stores than expected this year. We believe that closing these additional stores will have a positive impact on our operating results in fiscal 2027 and beyond." Cato expects to incur approximately $1 million to $1.3 million in costs related to the additional store closures, primarily associated with the disposal of exterior signage and fixtures, as well as returning store systems to the Company's corporate offices.
