Kevin Atkinson reposted thisKevin Atkinson reposted thisToday, Synthesia is launching Roleplay Sessions - a new way for people to practice conversations that actually move business metrics. Think sales discovery calls, difficult feedback, customer complaints - these are too important to wing, and now your people can master them before the stakes are real. Here's how it works: You step into a real conversation with an Avatar that talks, asks questions, and pushes back - just like a real person would. Practice the same scenario as many times as you need. Get personalized coaching in the moment, then measure skill improvement over time. It's practice without stakes. A safe space to fail, learn, and get better before it matters. We’re now making video interactive in real time. Avatars have to listen, reason, respond, coach, score, and remember enough context to feel like a coherent conversation, all with latency low enough that the learner stays immersed. We built this on top of Synthesia’s existing infrastructure, but added a new orchestration layer for conversational agents: multiple personas, structured roleplay and coaching modes, state tracking, scoring rubrics, analytics, and enterprise controls. The bar is reliability at scale: clean session endings, recoverable errors, measurable skill uplift, secure customer data flows. That makes the work very different - we’re no longer just generating video. Results from our pilots speak for themselves: 110% improvement in soft skills within weeks; 80% improvement in technical acumen; 70% of users came back to practice voluntarily. Hugely proud of the team building this - and it’s just the beginning. We're starting with Roleplay Sessions, but we'll keep expanding what our platform can do - moving into other kinds of Sessions soon - to help people work better. Check it out: synthesia.io/roleplay

Kevin Atkinson reposted thisKevin Atkinson reposted thisAn AI agent doesn’t need malicious intent to create a security incident. It just needs a goal. Last week, an OpenAI agent reportedly escaped a controlled security testing environment and compromised the AI platform Hugging Face. The agents were given a legitimate task: solve a cybersecurity benchmark. They found an unexpected route to the answers, broke out of the test environment, and breached another organization to steal them. From the model’s perspective, that may have looked like success. And that is the problem. Agents don’t navigate boundaries the way people do. They do not necessarily interpret “permission denied” as “stop.” They may interpret it as “find another way.” A single action by an agent may appear acceptable. But as this incident shows, models are now capable of long, complex chains of reasoning and action that add up to a harmful outcome. Because agents operate based on outcomes, you have no way of knowing what they will do once launched. Rules, scripts, signatures, even classic pre-prod testing don't protect against the novel and dynamic decisions an agent will actually make in the real world once live. That’s why CISOs need real time behavioral analysis. Security teams need to understand agent behavior in full: the goal being pursued, the tools being used, the systems being touched, and the risk being created. OpenAI and Hugging Face deserve credit for investigating this together and discussing it publicly. At Darktrace, we secure the modern enterprise by protecting agents, people, and infrastructure through behavioral security. Our Adaptive AI learns how your organization behaves, so it can detect and respond when behavior deviates in real time. That is how organizations can adopt AI with confidence. Kevin Atkinson shared thisSKO FY27 is officially in the books. 🚀 After months of planning, collaboration, and countless conversations, it was incredibly rewarding to see our global teams come together in Las Vegas aligned around a shared vision, a clear strategy, and the opportunity ahead in FY27. What stood out most wasn't the stage or the content. It was the people. One of the highlights of the week was our Day 0 Leadership Track, where leaders from various GTM roles came together to invest in themselves and the teams they lead. A special thank you to Martin Gregory and the Explore Performance team for delivering an unforgettable Everest experience. Following the journey, Ed Jennings set the tone for the remainder of the Leadership Track, aligning our leaders around Darktrace's vision for FY27 and the role leadership plays in making that vision a reality. Thank you to Marty Overman, Matt North, Sandi Larsen Berk Veral, Elena Marks (Modesti), Lizzie Martin and Trevor Coetzee for helping to challenge, inspire, and prepare our leaders for the year ahead. A personal thank you to Myrofora Ioannidou, whose partnership was instrumental in making Day 0 Leadership a success. The momentum continued with our Enterprise+ breakout sessions, where I had the privilege of partnering with Martin Landless and Carolyn Hieken to challenge teams to elevate deal inspection, coaching rigor, and execution. A special thank you to Fiona Kelly for being my partner in driving successful sessions for our Enteprise+ teams. And to Kim Ventura-Perkins who worked with Hilmon Sorey and Cory Bray from the ClozeLoop team for helping to bring discovery conversations to life. Behind every successful SKO is an incredible team. Thank you to Danielle King, Nalani Watkins, Michelle Serdyukov, Mackenzie Lemmon, Marie-Christine Suergers, Ryan Rosenfeld, Joanna T., Hana Kameike, Mitchell Broadwater, Steffany B. and so many others whose hard work helped make this year's event a tremendous success. Most importantly, thank you to Michelle Afshar for your leadership, vision, and unwavering commitment to developing leaders and teams across Darktrace. I'm leaving SKO energized, inspired, and incredibly proud of what we accomplished together. The energy is high. The vision is clear. The opportunity is enormous. FY27, let's get to work. 🚀 #Darktrace #SKO #FY27 #SecureAI #LeadershipDevelopment #SalesEnablement #Enablement #CyberSecurity #OneTeam

Kevin Atkinson reposted thisKevin Atkinson reposted thisI recently joined Harry Kendlbacher on the B2B Sales Trends Podcast for a conversation about enterprise sales, AI, and how cybersecurity buying is changing. One idea we kept coming back to was that buyers don't need another product expert. They need someone who understands their business, helps diagnose the real problem, and guides them through increasingly complex buying decisions. We discussed why discovery has become more important than ever, how AI is changing buyer expectations, and why trust, curiosity, and collaboration are becoming the defining characteristics of successful enterprise sellers. Thank you to Harry and the team for the opportunity to share ideas and experiences. You can listen to the full conversation here (link in comments).

Kevin Atkinson reposted thisKevin Atkinson reposted thisToday, I'm excited to share something that's been on my heart for a long time. My very first children's book, Tina's Grey Adventure, is officially live on Amazon! 🎉📚 This story was inspired by my own journey of learning to embrace what makes me unique. As someone who grew up with gray hair at a young age, I know what it's like to feel different and to let other people's opinions shape how you see yourself. I wrote this book to remind children that the things that make us different are often the things that make us special. Whether you're a parent, grandparent, teacher, or simply someone who believes in helping children build confidence and self-love, I hope this story finds a place on your bookshelf. You can grab your copy here: https://a.co/d/07q0epRE To everyone who encouraged me, believed in me, and supported this dream, from the bottom of my heart thank you! Publishing my first book is a milestone I'll never forget, and I can't wait to see where this journey leads. Here's to helping the next generation embrace who they are. 💜 #ChildrensBooks #Author #SelfLove #Representation #Confidence #Amazon #Selfpublished

Kevin Atkinson liked thisKevin Atkinson liked thisIn my last post, I talked about how rewarding it is to hear directly from the people you create enablement for about how much it helped them or their teams. Those conversations are invaluable. But to show impact, we also need something measurable. There are lots of ways to measure enablement. Engagement tells us whether people showed up. Satisfaction tells us whether they found it valuable. Business metrics help connect enablement to outcomes. But readiness is where the real impact starts. Can someone apply what they learned? Do they feel more prepared for customer conversations? Do they know what they'll do differently after the enablement? That's why I like measuring both quantitative and qualitative impact. Surveys and metrics help tell one part of the story. Conversations with the people we support tell the other. The goal isn't just to create enablement people enjoy, but to create enablement that helps them do their jobs better. How does your team measure enablement impact?

Kevin Atkinson liked thisKevin Atkinson liked this🚴 Completed the 2026 Ride Across Wisconsin: 177.7 miles. That's what my résumé or LinkedIn bullet point would say. It's true. But it doesn't tell the story. What that bullet point doesn't say is that... • May 2nd, I broke my collarbone and shoulder blade. • May 14th, I had surgery to repair my collarbone. • I spent weeks completely off the bike. • I was medically cleared to resume normal activity just 48 hours before the start. • I wasn't sure I'd even make it to the starting line. This past Saturday, I crossed the finish line after 177.7 miles and exactly 38,278 pedal strokes (thanks, Garmin). Every one of those pedal strokes represented something that never shows up on a résumé, a LinkedIn profile, or an annual review: the rehab, the setbacks, the doubts, the early mornings, the decision to keep going even when the outcome wasn't guaranteed. It reminded me of something we often forget about the people we work with. We celebrate accomplishments because they're visible. But we don't give space to talk about the resilience that made them possible. The promotion doesn't show the failures that came before it. The successful project doesn't show the late nights, pivots, or obstacles that nearly derailed it. The new job doesn't show the rejection emails... so many rejection emails. And sometimes, a 177.7-mile bike ride doesn't show the broken bones that came just weeks before. The next time you see someone's "bullet point," remember there's a story behind it. And I promise you, the story is the real accomplishment. #RideAcrossWisconsin #Resilience #Grit #GrowthMindset #Leadership #CareerGrowth #Perseverance #KeepGoing

Ed's vision for the future of Darktrace, the caliber of the leadership team, and the culture they're building made it clear that this was an organization I wanted to be part of. The collaboration, humility, energy, and genuine customer-first mindset I experienced throughout the company were unlike anything I'd seen in a long time. When you combine that with Darktrace's AI-native cybersecurity technology, it became an opportunity I simply couldn't pass up. Throughout my career, I've been fortunate to lead incredible teams dedicated to helping customers realize value while building customer organizations that drive growth, strengthen relationships, and create exceptional experiences. What has always energized me most is partnering with customers to help them achieve meaningful business outcomes while building teams that scale. As organizations navigate an increasingly complex threat landscape, customers need more than great technology - they need a trusted partner focused on helping them maximize the value of their investment. That's where I believe great customer organizations make the biggest difference. I'm incredibly excited to partner with our customers and work alongside such a talented team as we continue building a world-class customer experience across the entire customer lifecycle. Kevin Atkinson liked thisAs we push to finish Q4 here at Darktrace, it’s always a good time to step back, reflect, and think about what we want to carry forward. Over the past few weeks, I’ve had the chance to represent the Darktrace Sales Development team on a couple of key internal calls - and honestly, I walked away feeling extremely energized by what’s happening across the business. Manager Intel Briefing (MIB): These sessions are all about global leaders coming together to share what’s working. One theme I keep coming back to is something simple, but powerful: a true “One Team” mentality. 🤝 I’ll always stand behind this - none of us win alone. There’s a big difference between healthy competition and operating in silos. The teams that see the most success are the ones that openly share ideas, build trust, and support each other. When leaders are aligned and willing to collaborate, everything moves faster. (My rocks at Darktrace: Torey, Quinton, Derek, Josh, Michael - thank you for your comradery and support!) Field Agent Briefing (FAB): Another great moment was getting to introduce one of our SDRs, Lauren Biggs, to a broader audience. Lauren walked through how she’s leveling up collaboration with her AEs - bringing real structure, creativity, and intention to how they work together. 💡 What stood out most was how focused she is on creating value early - making sure every conversation is meaningful for both the prospect and our team. The results are following, but more importantly, the approach is strong. Lauren, thank you for representing the team so well. The impact you’ve made in such a short time is impressive, and it’s been great to see. Grateful to be part of a team that continues to share, push each other, and raise the bar together. Special thanks to Kevin Atkinson, Michelle Afshar, Amy Winsor, Jon Gainey, and Brady Hill for these opportunities! Excited to see everything to come in Q1! Double shoutout to Kevin Atkinson for the killer "Agent Miller" AI photo 😂

If your reps can’t ask the right questions… They’ll never earn the right to close. Too many MSP salespeople treat discovery like a checklist. Budget? Timeline? Decision maker? Check, check, check. Real discovery is about showing up curious. It’s about uncovering what actually matters to the buyer. And that only happens when you ask questions that make them pause, When you do that, deals move. When you don’t, they stall. We pulled together 8 of the most powerful discovery questions we’ve seen top reps use. Ones that turn ghosted prospects into signed contracts. Ones that make the difference between being seen as “just another vendor” and being treated like a true partner. They’re in the carousel below. ✅ Use them to spark urgency ✅ Use them to find real pain ✅ Use them to help your team close with confidence 💾 Save this for your next sales meeting. #MSP #SalesTraining #FoxAndCrowGroup #MSPGrowth #SalesProcess #CloseTheGap

Enterprise Sales in 2026: The Playbook Isn’t Wrong. It’s Incomplete. We can keep doing what we’ve always done. Write better subject lines. Refine discovery questions. Build rapport. Get liked. Lock next steps. Run intro calls. Prep demos. Run demos. Run more demos. Forecast deals. Update CRM. Show activity. Earn more love.... That playbook isn’t wrong. It’s just incomplete. And in 2026, incomplete is expensive. That’s why so many “good” enterprise deals quietly stall, go dark, or die in indecision especially when the business case is pushed to later instead of owned from the beginning. What’s missing isn’t effort. It’s judgment. Specifically, financial judgment. Enterprise decisions are made by executives with P&L responsibility and fiduciary obligations. Every business decision they make is a financial decision. Cash flow. Gross margin. Profitability. Growth. SG&A efficiency. Capital allocation trade-offs. This is the scoreboard they’re paid on. Financial judgment is hard. And it exposes who can actually think at the executive level and who can’t. So it’s avoided. And the cost is massive. The solution isn’t more tools. It’s not more activity. Not better discovery frameworks. It’s the ability to have strategic conversations instead of tactical ones with VPs and above about whether your product is a viable investment. That means: Agreeing early to co-build a business case. Defining the outputs required to fund the project before demos Testing whether the economics meet IRR and hurdle-rate thresholds Killing deals early when the numbers don’t work and shaking hands professionally That’s not failure. It’s discipline. If a prospect won’t invest time and resources into building a real business case early, that tells you everything you need to know about deal quality. Demos still matter. They’re part of due diligence, not the strategy. Executives don’t want someone “working hard on their quota.” They don’t want someone fishing. Or someone nice. They want someone who understands how decisions actually get made. We’re not selling software. We’re selling an investment. Capital allocation is one of the CFO’s top priorities in 2026 according to Gardner. If you can’t speak to it or don’t understand it, you’re missing a critical part of the conversation. This isn’t a new methodology. It isn’t my genius. It’s basic corporate finance. And how businesses have always made decisions. We all have a choice: Keep grinding an incomplete playbook that’s can be draining, stressful, and unpredictable. Or develop the “judgment” required to sell where the decisions are actually made. Your year depends on it. So does your career.

Is your SDR motion resilient, or just "busy"? For many GTM leaders, a "tactical fix" for email health often reveals a deeper structural liability: Tool Sprawl. When your team is juggling six disconnected point solutions, they aren't selling; they are paying a "fragmentation tax". At 3Sixty Insights, we tracked how one company moved beyond the "Franken-stack" to a unified Sales Operating System. Your SDR team can't scale outbound because personalization breaks at volume. Writing custom emails for 200 prospects weekly is humanly impossible. So reps make a choice: send generic blasts that get 2% response rates, or cherry-pick 30 high-value accounts and leave pipeline on the table. Both options lose. The first trains prospects to ignore you. The second caps your growth at however many personalized touches one human can produce daily. The constraint isn't effort. It's that real personalization requires research, context synthesis, and message adaptation for every single prospect. Most teams can't operationalize that at scale, so they default to templates with merge tags and call it "personalized." Prospects see through it immediately. Enter This Week's Featured Agent: AiSDR AiSDR removes the personalization constraint entirely. It handles prospect research, contextual message writing, response management, and meeting coordination as a complete workflow. The agent researches each prospect across 323+ data sources, including recent LinkedIn activity, company news, job postings, tech stack changes, and funding rounds. It then writes messages that reference specific business context rather than generic pain points. When prospects reply, AiSDR responds within 10 minutes. If someone says "we're focused on other priorities right now," it doesn't mark them closed-lost. It schedules a follow-up for when their roadmap likely shifts. When they ask technical questions, it provides specific answers and moves the conversation toward a demo. When they raise objections, it handles them using your company's playbooks. The agent operates from your actual inbox through Gmail or Outlook integration, learns your messaging patterns through its persona builder, and maintains consistent positioning across every interaction. Your reps stop spending hours on email composition and sequence management. They focus on the conversations AiSDR has already warmed up. This fundamentally changes your outbound economics. The bottleneck shifts from "how many personalized emails can we write" to "how many qualified conversations can we handle." Your pipeline becomes a function of market size and offer strength, not human capacity to research and write. That's the unlock. Most SDR teams are productivity-constrained when they should be market-constrained.
