Mike Arresta shared thisNew grocery doors don’t stay flexible for long. ⏳ Within 60 to 90 days of an opening, planograms freeze, primary shelf real estate gets claimed, and store managers settle into their re-order routines. If you wait until a store is established to pitch, you'll be fighting for secondary, off-shelf scraps. 📉 Our team walked the newly opened Lincoln Market in Williamsburg to audit the floor and identify early placement opportunities for our brands. 🛒 1. The Hybrid Premium Assortment Play Lincoln Market sits right at the intersection of conventional everyday staples and curated specialty imports. For CPG brands, this means your SKU doesn’t get pigeonholed into a dusty "ethnic/imported" aisle—it competes directly alongside conventional volume drivers. 2. High-Ring Cross-Merchandising Real Estate With the dedicated service deli, fresh bakery, craft cheese, and prepared foods clustered together, real volume isn't just in the center store aisles. High-margin specialty SKUs have prime real estate to capture grab-and-go basket additions. 3. The "Early Door" Window for DSD & Regional Brands New locations are actively fine-tuning their inventory turnover. Store managers are far more receptive to testing new lines, adjusting facings, and hosting demos now than they will be six months from now. 🤝 👉Retail growth is won on the floor—identifying category gaps and putting product directly into the hands of the decision-makers. If you're expanding retail distribution across the NY metro area, are you targeting new store openings during launch, or waiting for review cycles? 👇 #RetailExecution #GroceryRetail #CPG #SpecialtyFood #FoodAndBeverage #BrooklynRetail #LincolnMarket #FieldMarketing #RetailStrategy #ImpactBusinessDevelopmentConsulting

Mike Arresta reacted on thisReal retail velocity isn’t built from behind a desk; it’s won on the grocery floor. 🛒🥖 Yesterday, our team was on the ground executing an in-store demo activation for Pain d’Avignon at DeCicco & Sons Markets' new location in Greenwich, CT. 📍 Despite the weekend Nor’easter, shopper turnout was incredible. The results speak directly to the power of pairing artisan pedigree with direct customer engagement: - Classic Sourdough: Sold out within the first hour🔥 - French Baguettes: Cleared the racks well ahead of schedule 🥖 - Morning Pastries: Massive pull-through demand for fresh-baked croissants and blueberry scones 🥐🫐 Shoutout to the entire staff at DeCicco & Sons Markets for the warm welcome, seamless partnership, and prime department placement. When a brand commits to clean-label purity, traditional slow fermentation, and zero artificial additives, getting consumers to taste the difference is all it takes to build long-term brand loyalty. 🌾👨🍳 Next time you’re in #Greenwich, CT, stop by DeCicco’s bakery department to grab a fresh loaf! Mike Arresta shared thisInternational Specialty Retail Spotlight Part 3: The French & European Pantry 🇫🇷🥖 For international food brands entering the U.S. market, understanding how consumers shop is just as critical as what they buy. In Part 3 of our International Specialty Retail Spotlight, the IBDC team looked at two distinct NYC bakery models that showcase different consumer pathways: 🥐 Frenchette Bakery: An experience-driven model where fresh bakery, café hospitality, and specialty offerings intersect. It demonstrates how experiential spaces drive high-impact brand discovery and trial. 🥖 Le Fournil: A neighborhood staple where artisanal bakery is woven directly into the local morning routine—highlighting repeat purchase frequency, foot traffic, and neighborhood accessibility. The Key Takeaway for CPG Founders: Retail strategy starts with understanding the consumer, the shopping occasion, and the role your product plays within that environment. The right channel should support how consumers discover, purchase, and return to a product. At Impact Business Development Consulting (IBDC), we are on the ground analyzing merchandising, tracking consumer traffic, and helping international brands navigate U.S. channel strategy. 💬 When expanding into a new market, what drives your initial channel strategy: high-impact discovery or everyday routine? #IBDC #SpecialtyFood #RetailStrategy #CPG #FrenchFood #NYCRetail #MarketEntry #InternationalBrands #FoodIndustry #SpecialtyGrocery #BrandStrategy #RetailSpotlight

Mike Arresta reacted on thisNYC Retail Spotlight: Chinatown Edition 📍 Navigating a dense, culturally concentrated market like Manhattan’s Chinatown is a masterclass in channel fit. For imported and specialty CPG brands, shelf placement means nothing without matching your SKU to the shopper’s purchasing mission. For this stop in our NYC Retail Spotlight Series, the IBDC team mapped three Chinatown retailers showcasing different approaches to specialization, assortment, and consumer relevance. 🥢 Hong Kong Supermarket Focus: Broad regional assortment spanning fresh perishables, proteins, and high-turn pantry staples. The Commercial Play: High-volume scale. The goal is moving imported discovery items into high-frequency, weekly household grocery carts. 🛒 Deluxe Food Market (High-Density Neighborhood Staple) Focus: Compact, hyper-focused assortment of core daily staples in a fast-paced environment. The Commercial Play: Precision SKU selection. With zero wasted shelf space, velocity belongs exclusively to products meeting exact daily dietary habits. 🌏 Po Wing Hong Food Market Focus: Hard-to-find dried goods, heritage culinary staples, and top-tier culinary imports. The Commercial Play: Premium positioning. Deep specialization commands strong basket size, brand trust, and sustained culinary loyalty. The Key Takeaway for CPG Founders: Expanding an international food brand across the U.S. is never one-size-fits-all. Entering a high-velocity conventional supermarket requires a fundamentally different commercial playbook than anchoring inside an authentic cultural institution. At Impact Business Development Consulting (IBDC), we provide the boots-on-the-ground market audits and commercial execution brands need to build sustainable growth in the U.S. market. 👉 Ready to build your U.S. market entry roadmap? Mike Arresta reacted on thisNYC Specialty Retail Spotlight: Food Markets & Food Halls Edition 🛒 In a market as dynamic as New York, launching a CPG brand isn’t just about securing shelf space; it’s about finding the exact ecosystem where your product aligns with consumer intent. Food halls and public markets offer alternative launchpads to traditional center-store grocery. Here is how three iconic New York formats compare from a commercial strategy lens: 🧀 Essex Market (Lower East Side) | The Community Anchor - A modern public market fusing independent culinary stands, specialty purveyors, and everyday grocery. - Best suited for emerging, clean-label daily staples and pantry items. Local foot traffic turns initial product discovery into high-frequency, weekly repeat purchasing. 🏙️ Chelsea Market Baskets/Fine Food Marketing (Meatpacking District) | The Global Discovery Engine - A high-density culinary landmark driven by experiential retail, dining, and massive foot traffic. - The play here is high-visibility brand equity, experiential storytelling, and menu integration. Ideal for premium specialty brands looking to validate consumer reception at scale. 🥢 Mott Street Eatery (Chinatown) | The Cultural Destination - A hyper-focused food hall anchored in authentic Asian culinary concepts. - Demonstrates the power of acute demographic fit. Niche, culturally aligned brands capture immediate traction through concentrated consumer demand and culinary credibility 👉 The Strategic Takeaway for CPG Founders: - A high-volume tourist hall demands a completely different margin structure, packaging format, and velocity expectation than a community-focused neighborhood market. To expand successfully, match your SKU to the shopper’s immediate mission. At Impact Business Development Consulting LLC, we conduct in-store audits and provide boots-on-the-ground commercial representation to help specialty and international food brands identify the relevant retail channels where they can scale sustainably. 👉 Ready to expand your brand’s footprint across the Northeast? Mike Arresta liked thisMike Arresta liked thisI’m officially one week into my new position as Pastry Chef at Winter Park Racquet Club, and I couldn’t be happier to be here. 🤍 From day one, I was welcomed by an incredibly supportive team, and we hit the ground running. It’s been a busy first week filled with private events, new projects, lots of desserts, and plenty of opportunities to jump right in and start creating. I’m especially excited about the opportunity to help build and grow the pastry program here. There’s so much potential, and I’m really looking forward to seeing where we can take it. I’m sharing a few of the things I worked on this week for private events, along with the dessert I created that ultimately helped me land this position. It feels pretty special to look at those tarts now and realize it was the beginning of this next chapter. One week in, and I already feel very lucky to be part of this team. Here’s to new beginnings, big ideas, and a whole lot of pastry. 🥐✨ Jennifer Ellinger Daniel Weber, CEC Ian H. Mike Arresta liked thisMike Arresta liked thisLast month, I stepped into the role of Field Marketing & Brand Activations Coordinator at ayrloom, and it's already been one of the most rewarding growth periods of my career. I've independently planned and executed pop-up activations, represented the brand at trade shows, cultivated genuine client relationships, and served as the face of ayrloom across Long Island and Queens. Some days brought their share of challenges, but each one sharpened my ability to think on my feet, adapt in the moment, and build real connections rather than surface-level interactions. Field marketing is so much more than a booth or a table, it's where brands stop being a logo and start being a real experience. In a world of endless digital noise, that face-to-face moment is often what actually earns trust and loyalty with consumers. I'm grateful to be part of a team that entrusted me with this responsibility from day one. Excited to keep building on this momentum in the months ahead. #FieldMarketing #BrandActivation #ayrloom

Your passion, generosity, and unwavering dedication to our craft remind us that great cuisine is more than what we serve on a plate. It is about the people, the traditions we honor, and the inspiration we pass on to future generations.
