Uday Kumar shared thisA QUESTION : HOW DOES Gen AI SOLVE MATH PROBLEMS? Hivemind, fellow practitioners, and thoughtful people in my network, a small admission upfront. I could have asked AI this question. I chose conversation instead. The other day, I was working through a geometry problem. No grades, no pressure, just the quiet pleasure of thinking it through. (I do this to refresh the mind.) I played with the problem for a minute or two, then out of curiosity, I pasted it into GPT. It solved it cleanly. That led me to a deeper pause. My working understanding of large language models is that they are generative. They predict what comes next. One token at a time. In that sense, a very powerful, ginormous autocomplete system. But math is not generative. Math is deterministic. A geometric proof does not care what sounds right. There is one correct path and many wrong ones. Yet LLMs routinely solve math problems with precision. So what is really happening here? Where does probabilistic generation give way to deterministic structure? How does pattern prediction reliably land on mathematical certainty? And what role do training data, symbolic reasoning, or scaffolding play in bridging that gap? Can you please share your thoughts? Also, where you are using GenAI,and where you land on Deterministic?

Uday Kumar shared thisAWAKENING 2026! Earlier this week, I was at the Chopra House for the launch of the new book Awakening by Deepak Chopra MD (official). It was a warm, thoughtful gathering, and a joy to witness. I was there with some amazing team members from the Heartfulness Institute, including Emma Ivaturi, Ranjani Iyer, Ph.D. and Balaji (Bala) Iyer. Together, we represented Daaji Kamlesh Patel and the spirit of unity that Heartfulness Institute seeks to live and share. That sense of togetherness was palpable throughout the evening. Met some old friends and made a few new ones too. The word "awaken" carries deep meaning for me. As a child, my mother kept a small plaque with the words of Swami Vivekananda: “Arise, awake, and rest not till the goal is achieved.” Those words stayed with me, shaping how I think about growth, effort, and inner life. I look forward to reading this book as a reader and as a practitioner. Awakening, for me, is about cultivating an awareness that loosens inner limits and invites new horizons. I have had the privilege of meeting Deepakji a few times over the years. His warmth, wisdom, and unmistakable sense of urgency have always left an impression. The coming together of his work with Daaji’s perspective gives me genuine hope for the future. When minds meet at the level of purpose, something larger than conceivable becomes possible. Grateful to have been present for an evening that reminded me why awakening is not a concept, but a living call.

A tiny, injured bird fell into a silverback gorilla enclosure. People screamed. They expected harm. But the giant did the opposite. He gently picked her up. Noticed the bird was thirsty. Uday Kumar shared thisFROM 2025 TO 2026: MY TOP 9 LIST I realized this year that what stays with me are the handful of moments that quietly change my inner weather. A paragraph that lands deeper than expected. A conversation that clarifies confusion. A line that follows me around for weeks. This is not a list of the best things I consumed in 2025. It is a small, personal record of what moved me, unsettled me, amused me, and gently rearranged how I see the world. Here is what you will find here: 1. My favorite lede this year 2. The spiritual article that kept me awake 3. The financial interview I liked 4. Best podcast episode for me this year 5. One chart that blew me away 6. A quote that lingered after a long long time 7. Funniest article that made an uncomfortable point 8. One Idea I resisted but now agree with 9. One question that I carry into the next year

Uday Kumar posted thisCAN SOMEONE FROM HEALTHCARE OR PHARMA EXPLAIN THIS TO ME? This is more of a first principles inquiry from me. I would love to learn about how this happens and what it means for pharma, healthcare and future of care: Novo Nordisk launched Ozempic in India on Friday—and the weight-loss drug, which is also sold as a diabetes treatment in some countries, will sell at a massive discount there compared with U.S. prices. Novo is selling the 0.25 mg dose at 8,800 rupees (about $97.27), according to Reuters. The pen covers four weekly doses, so the pricing works out to about $24 a week. In the U.S., the 0.25 mg dose sells for $997.58 before any discounts or rebates are applied. That works out to $249.40 a week—meaning Americans without health insurance are paying more than 10 times as much for Ozempic. However uninsured patients can pay cash through NovoCare for a significant discount. How does this work? Why are American prices the highest? Is this normal?

Uday Kumar shared thisA TRIBUTE TO COMPOUNDING: NATIONAL MATHEMATICS DAY Today is National Mathematics Day. So instead of formulas or equations, I want to honor one idea that has quietly shaped my life more than any other: Compounding. Most of us think we understand it. We have heard the quotes. We have seen the charts. We know it applies to money. But here is the uncomfortable truth I have come to realize. Very few of us actually understand compounding. I certainly did not. I invested for years without really grasping what was happening underneath. When I left India BSE Sensex for 7,000. I knew compounding then. I understand it now. (BSE is 85k...and yes I sold everything when I left). The day compounding finally clicked for me, it was not intellectual. It was physical. Something in me shifted. I could not unsee it. And once you see it, you start noticing it everywhere. Money compounds. Health compounds. Skills compound. Relationships compound. Calm compounds. Confusion compounds too. Small decisions repeated daily become forces. Tiny neglects repeated quietly become costs. That is the real gift of mathematics. It teaches us that life does not move in straight lines, even though our minds want it to. The most meaningful changes in life rarely arrive dramatically. They arrive silently, stacking day after day, until one day you look back and realize everything is different. On National Mathematics Day, I am grateful for this reminder. Understand compounding. Not just in finance. But in how you live. Because once you truly get it, you start designing your life very differently.

We truly appreciated the time you spent sharing Cisco’s product vision, engaging with our teams, and — most importantly — listening. The perspective and thoughtful inputs you brought sparked great conversations and will help shape how we continue to evolve our technology strategy. We firmly believe that meaningful progress with AI comes from strong partnerships. We’re excited to continue working closely with Cisco to apply AI in a responsible, targeted way — focused on driving safer operations, better outcomes for our industry, and greater value for the customers we serve.Uday Kumar liked thisI try to see about 150 customers a quarter. The reason I do that is to keep a close pulse on what innovation is hitting different industries and also to gain feedback from them on what we can do better. These conversations become a great input not just to the product development exercise but also the overall business strategy. Every once in a while a few customers really blow me away with their progress they make with the use of technology to fundamentally rethink the constraints of their business. One such customer I met recently was Norfolk Southern. Their EVP and Chief Information and Digital Officer Anil Bhatt recently took the time with his leadership team to give me a tour of their NOC and showed me some stuff that was truly amazing. For example they are able to use Vision with AI to detect a crack on every wheel of the train at 60 mph and better yet also detect damage on the tracks from the train itself. This helps improve safety, saves lives and fundamentally rethinks the constraints of physics. Anil, congrats to you and your ROCKSTAR team for these sort of remarkable achievements and we at Cisco are honored to be your partner and play a small part in helping you achieve your mission. It’s great to call you a friend. Thanks again to the members of your team for hosting and your leadership is truly inspiring. As India’s e-mobility transition accelerates, the focus must move beyond vehicle adoption to coordinated planning between charging infrastructure and electricity distribution networks especially in dense urban centres. At Administrative Staff College of India (ASCI), together with NRDC India, we consistently strive to provide a neutral platform where government, utilities, and industry stakeholders can engage in open and constructive dialogue identify systemic gaps, strengthen institutional coordination, and shape policy with foresight and care. The discussion benefited from valuable insights from: Shri Krishna Bhaskar, IAS, CMD, TGTRANSCO Shri V. Sivaji, Director (Projects), TGSPDCL Shri Gopalakrishnan VC, Director (Automotive & EV), Industries & Commerce Dept., Govt. of Telangana Smt. Radhika, Project Director (EV), TGREDCO We were also pleased to have leadership-level participation from Charge Point Operators, OEMs, and other industry representatives, who shared practical insights on demand patterns, utilisation risks, and deployment challenges. In his remarks, Shri Krishna Bhaskar emphasised that this is the right time to proactively strengthen planning frameworks before charging demand scales sharply. He underlined the importance of early action, coordinated investment, and institutional alignment to avoid reactive infrastructure expansion. A key takeaway: EV charging and grid readiness require simultaneous alignment across vehicles, land, wires, funds, and policy supported by realistic demand forecasting and structured data-sharing between utilities and industry. Electricity utilities must begin integrating EV load projections into feeder-level planning, anticipate transformer augmentation needs in emerging urban clusters, and adopt phased investment strategies aligned with realistic EV adoption scenarios. The insights will feed into the Hyderabad EV Charging Demand Assessment Roadmap Study and broader efforts aligned with Telangana Vision 2047 and national programmes such as PM E-DRIVE. I congratulate Prof Amartya A. for his efforts to convene this wonderful dialogue along with team members Reshma Mathew, Nikhil Kumar Ankam, Subhash varma, Deva Varaprasad Goud Aila, Panuganti Lakshmi prasanna, Vishnu Menon. I also thank Nitish Arora, Sahana L, Swapnil Fulari. Grateful to all participants for a candid and forward-looking discussion. We explored the intersection of fragmented data, misaligned incentives, and clinical realities that extend well beyond what dashboards reveal. The conversation focused on the practical design and governance decisions leaders must make to move from pilot success to sustainable, system-wide impact. We discussed transforming an unsustainable cost burden into a catalyst for progress by building an actionable digital infrastructure that empowers clinicians with real-time, AI-accelerated insights. It was incredibly inspiring to witness the collaborative energy focused on overcoming "initiative friction" and creating a tangible reality for every patient. Afterward, we had the opportunity to chat with Saul W. Marquez, CEO at Outcomes Rocket, on the Beat podcast by HLTH Inc. We discussed the importance of data in AI as well as the responsible use of AI, and then shared some advice for technology leaders to help them succeed in their partnerships with business leaders. #Associations often unbundle the various offerings in order to attempt to maximize product revenue. But a member’s time is scarce. Every additional SKU is another approval cycle. Bundling lowers friction, increases perceived value, and creates room to stage upgrades (advanced cohorts, certification prep, etc). - Start with the purpose of the content: “Advance in your role faster” -> “Access to journal + webinar + discount.” - Make it one decision: One price covers community, live learning, resource library, and member-to-member help. - Measure adoption, not clicks: Track recurring participation in live sessions and deeper engagement metrics as your north stars. Bundling is about serving the real buyer with less administrative headache and more continuous value. If you had to relaunch your membership model, what three things would you bundle on Day 1? #PricingStrategy #MembershipDesign #Associations #LearningAndDevelopment #Community #ProductStrategy #B2B #SidecarSync

Grateful to join Shripati Acharya and the Prime Ventures Podcast to discuss Uniphore’s journey and what it really takes to bring agentic AI into production at the world’s largest businesses. We covered a few themes that keep coming up with CIOs and business leaders I speak with: what industrializing AI looks like beyond pilots, why a horizontal enterprise platform (data, models, security, agents) is essential for scaling responsibly, and the challenge of making AI agents more deterministic through architecture, guardrails, and workflow design. I also shared why small, fine-tuned models can be the right approach for many business use cases, balancing accuracy, control, and cost at scale. At the center of this is the Uniphore Business AI Cloud: an end-to-end platform that helps businesses bring their data together, fine-tune models, and build and deploy AI agents with the security and sovereignty large organizations require. And, it’s increasingly enabled by a strong ecosystem of strategic partners across compute, data, and cloud, working together to help customers move from experimentation to measurable outcomes. I’m confident the next chapter of Business AI will be defined by disciplined execution and real impact at scale. Thank you Shripati for a thoughtful conversation. Let’s do it again soon. #BusinessAI

VC money has def left the station on the “one-size-fits-all” assistant crowd and flowing into hyper-niche, domain-trained agents. Reddy just raised seed to build a CX layer only for high-touch retail, while Eudia collected a $100 M+ Series A to automate legal-department workflows. These companies are vertical stacks that know the jargon, data models, and compliance quirks of a single industry. The entire experience-tech market should take notice. A decade plus of suites promising horizontal coverage including feedback, journeys, sentiment, and analytics, all in one SKU. Now, capital is betting the next edge comes from depth, not breadth. If you run product at an enterprise suite vendor, your choices are now to either integrate these specialist agents, build your own with vertical DNA, or risk being the generic pipe pass-through. I'm seeing this happen more and mor. For CX leaders, the upside is faster time-to-value vs. 6-9 month implementations. Think about a legal-grade agent with built-in privilege rules, or a financial-services agent arriving knowing KYC steps in a matter of weeks. Your procurement cycles definitely shrink, but vendor management will need more attention. Think about how you're going to keep these micro-tools aligned with brand standards and privacy obligations. What does this look like for the everyday customer? You might have a loyalty app that spots a delivery delay, queries inventory, issues a partial credit, and texts you with a new ETA before you even open a chat. Behind the scenes, a retail-trained agent will handle routing, policy checks, and accounting entries inside the brand's ERP, with no tickets required. The brand feels intuitive and proactive, and you and I finally feel understood. Now, I don't think hyper-specialized agents will replace the big platforms, but they def will raise the bar. And I don't think horizontal AI to manage all of the vertically-focused AI is badly needed, but we shall see how this plays out. One thing's for sure, the big CXM platforms that stay horizontal will need more plug-and-play APIs, so clients can blend vertical brains into their existing experience stack without losing control. Not sure that's where they're investing though. #customerexperience #ai #agenticai #saas

Why fix defects when you can prevent them? In manufacturing, defects are often seen as an unavoidable reality. Identify, reject, repeat. But what if rejection wasn’t even part of the process? With Indus Vision, we’re not just catching defects - we’re eliminating them altogether. Our goal is simple: make production so seamless that defects never happen in the first place. No disruptions, no waste, just smooth, high-efficiency manufacturing. For the FMCG sector, this means higher production volumes, fewer recalls, and a supply chain that runs like clockwork. That’s the future we’re building - where manufacturing plants don’t just operate, they thrive.

Agentic AI is not for automation. That's the core message Somil Gupta and I explore in our latest piece for ManufacturingTomorrow.com. Traditional automation doesn't scale. Every new process needs custom workflows, rigid rules, and constant maintenance. When operations change, automation breaks. AI agents are fundamentally different. Think of them as digital workers, not automation tools. In industrial operations, there's a persistent gap between strategic vision and ground-level execution. Plant managers spend enormous effort translating board strategies into actionable tasks and managing exceptions that fall outside standard workflows. AI agents bridge this gap by understanding context, making autonomous decisions, coordinating multi-step workflows, and learning from feedback. They operate in that critical middle layer where human judgment has traditionally been irreplaceable. When you design around roles instead of workflows, the questions change: - What responsibilities should agents own? -How do they collaborate with humans and each other? -What governance keeps them aligned with business goals? At Kovant, our platform creates autonomous agents as digital employees for supply chain operations, with Mission Control providing the human oversight that keeps them effective and accountable. Companies that embrace agents as workforce members, not just efficiency tools, will fundamentally outperform those that don't. 🚀 Blueprints for Scaling: 5 Hard-Earned Lessons from Industrial Tech Leaders This McRock Capital Industrial Software Symposium 2025 panel brought together sharp minds on growth, capital, and leadership. Here are my top 5 takeaways from “The Blueprint for Growth”: 1. Great Teams Scale Together, Not Just Manage By Metrics “It’s not about Excel — it’s about people.” Growth happens when leaders give credit, absorb pressure, and build teams that scale with them, not under them. 2. Don’t Wait for the Perfect Deal One key message: “Markets are volatile. If you’ve got an 8/10 deal in a good environment, take it — the 10/10 might vanish tomorrow.” Timing often trumps perfection. 3. Predictability Is Non-Negotiable Growth can’t come at the cost of reliability. Whether it's for customers, partners, or employees — being predictable builds trust and long-term value. 4. Reinvention Is Part of the Job Whether you're a founder or exec, staying effective at scale requires constant self-upgrade. What got you here won’t get you there. 5. Reiterate Relentlessly The closeout message: “Build a world-class team, then reiterate and refine continuously.” Growth is never static. Huge thanks to McRock Capital for hosting this powerhouse panel with Whitney Rockley, Lyne Jacques, Dan Brady, Colin Ryan and Danny Ellis. #IndustrialSoftware #relocalize #GrowthStrategy #ScaleUp #VentureCapital #McRockSymposium
